I was raised by a very devout Christian farm family. I was forced to go to church every week and sang in the choir. Thirty years I got my freedom from both the farm and the choir and never looked back. This morning I heard a few notes of what they said was Green Leaves. I new there were words to this song. I found this and I said, "that's it". When I played this it put me in tears. This is beautiful. Can you imagine a fifty year old man brought to tears by a song.

It must be a treat for the orchestra and all of the talented musicians in it to actually get to accompany a singer worthy of their effort. Personally, after hearing her rendition of this, my favorite Christmas carol, I can't listen to anyone else sing it. This version is, in my opinion, definitive in terms of the the power and beauty of the voice that performed it that day.

The voice is there, but what happened to her "air supply"? Did she have some illness before this recording or what? She is almost desperately "reaching" for air between lines... its a LOT not like her... (e.g.: Chirmstmas In Vienna: Our Favorite Things. Also live concert, no problems with breathing)
