Yo- a lot of these combos are actually really simple groupings played around the kit at fast speeds- the most important thing in enabling yourself to play this style is to take rudiments like the paradiddle and replace hand strokes with foot strokes. For example- group something like this around the kit: LRKKLKRK.

Move some of those hand strokes around the kit- you're really only limited by your imagination in coming up with combinations and then the next step is learning to combine groupings.

Thats Nikkie Glaspie and its probably a Sabian Raidian 22 inch Jingle Stage Ride. Might be a Studio Jingle. Not sure didnt get a good look. But if you need anymore help look for me. I know A LOT about Sabian and Zildjian cymbals. Oh and Justin Brown is the guy playing the Paiste ride not the one in black

I must say I struggled to understand pretty much all of that! What divisions are these guys playing in cus it sounds as if they go out of time but then know exactly where they are? When you just listen to it without watching it does actually sound a mess, I'm not slagging it off but there's a huge lack of musicality.

But even so, I wish I could play like them but first I wish I understood what the hell it is that they're actually playing!!

They're playing in 4/4 time and each drummer is taking a 4 bar long solo. Very simple. What they are playing may sound outside, but it fits in there somehow...

Musicality is in the music, man. What I was getting at is that a lot of the other dudes incorporate musical phrasing into their solos, but Kevin Powell's just seemed like a lot of loose gospel licks. You know what I mean?
