  • I have been doing research and really want to get a beardy. Did you buy your vivarium? I dont want to spend 300$ for a terrarium thats half the size of the one you have. also.. I live in the US but While they are babies do you feel them a mix of crickets and mealworms?

  • hi i have is a ceramic heater that kicks out about 90f at the hot end but im getting a 60watt reflector bulb,do i need to turn the ceramic off during the day when the basking bulb is on? and would 1 bulb be enough?

  • yeah i wouldn't use wood chips..because the dragon can miss the cricket and get the woodchip instead like u see in the video..the best thing to use is tile or shelf liner..but everything else she said in the video is right

  • would one bearded dragon be ok in a 40 gallon long ?

  • @leosandco Oh yeah dude definitely, It all depends what size he/she is. Is it like the size of hers? If so then yeah that's great

  • @ReptileCentre would a 3ft x 15 x 15 be big enough for an adult beardie

  • hi um just wondering where do you get your bearded dragon vivarium because i searched everywhere for them but cant seem to find the right one they are all rainforest theme and where do you get yours empty

please respond to my comment before may 12 2012

  • @blingblingfashion101 you can get them online from reptile websites, or just go to your local pet shop like pets at home or whatever you have in your area, hope this helps :)

  • Greatly appreciated

  • This is awful.

1: Viv is too tall, beardys are not chams.

2: UV is 2' too small, and you don't just hang it there, if a beardy jumps on it its liable to burn.

3: Wood chip, if a beardy swallows one its dead, no ifs no buts. (Have you ever seen wood chip in a desert.)

4: Temperature sensor is theorectically measuring the temperature of a piece of wood which conducts heat, not a true temperature.

5: Viv is too small, each dragon should have at least 4'x2'x2'

  • NOOEES!! not to fine, not to hard sand. no wood, it an cut in their bellys. sand is also good for cleaning, i use a net for cleaning aquariums, the poo mixes with sand and gets hard so its easy to clean it up ;)

  • What!, beardies will fall out of the side if the whole things open!

  • would a glass cage with covered sides work? I was thinking a 30 gallon for just one. I dont want it to be too big of an investment for the first time.

  • You dont have to have a vivarium. Glass cages work just as well.

  • wow i love that intro!

  • My bearded dragon is stupid and would run right out of the side of the cage if It opened from the side

  • what type of decoration wood is that ?

  • @wesley221090 java wood (coffee)

  • are collard greens good for em'?

  • Do you still need a hot and cool side at night? I have a heat spot lamp on one side, and a ceramic heater on the other side. Do Just leave the ceramic heater always on, and turn the light off at night?

  • @taylor9124 the ceramic acts more light a radiator rather than a basking spot, so the temp at night is more even

  • @ReptileCentre hey dont use wood chips the crickets can hide in it

  • A few pointers.... All bulbs that produce heat in the vivarium need to be guarded and statted not just the ceramic and you should use dimmer or pulse stats as mat stats will shorten the life of the ceramic and may cause them to blow with the constant flicking on and off. Other than that. good video. :)

  • @ReptileCentre

Hello. First off I want to thank you for the excellent information you have given us.

I am buying a bearded dragon in a few days. I want to get as much info as I can before I get it.

Now at the pet store they are saying I can place it a smaller space about 1/3 of the size you have in this video. Now it is only 6 months old. so its pretty small "for now".

Now would me placing it in a smaller place (say for 3 months) effect it in any negative way?

    Thank you.

  • @xlUBETARUNlx you may struggle to have one end at 100oF+ and the other at 80oF in a small viv

  • THEY'RE SOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!

  • I have a Bearded Dragon. I read up about them before, but this video helped in a few ways. Thank you for this video! :)

  • thank you very much for video it was very helpful. just one question . how much do you normally sell a normal baby bearded dragon for at you shop ?

    thanks.

  • have alot of fire hazzards

  • OMG I want one so bad, but ill get one when am able to give it the proper housing. Where did you fine your stand?

  • @slipknotbitches Find**

  • What size is the Branch you put in the vivarium? e.g. small, medium etc

  • @Billieissocoollike that's a large I believe

  • thanks for the vid. it was helpfull and all but what gallon tank was that?

  • begining SOOOO CUTE!!!

  • thanks :)

  • I am getting a bearded dragon in NINE days. that you this video helped alot.

  • @beardie0503 excellent, post a video when you have him/ her :)

  • @ReptileCentre I am planning to get a bearded dragon soon but i can only afford a 10 gallon starter kit the dragons are currently 3-4 inches how long should i be able to keep them in there and can i possibly setup a larger vivarium without drilling holes in my wall because i am only renting

  • Comment below...lllreptile....dalesbeardeddragons

  • Can you give me a website where I can buy a Bearded Dragon online.. I want one so bad

  • Best Tutorial yet, Thank you :)

  • @Kingdom4Gamers thank you :)

  • are there certain woods dangerous to bearded dragons wood java wood logs at the pet store be ok? and im getting a pine wood stand to hold my tank would this pose any danger to my dragon please help im a little worried

  • @ReptileCentre

What would you recomend using (heat and light) for a 3ft vivarium set up. Only reason I ask is because I love the concept you have done for the 4 ft. I think my tank is 3ft by 1 maybe. (its the LX36 vivexotic)

Could you reccomend what to use for Heat (both day and night) and Light (day) (excluding the UV as i have this already)

  • @SJDVids the LX36 is too small for a bearded dragon, you would be able to keep a single rankins dragon in there though

  • @2203Ernesto you can by most of the equipment form petsathome look at their online site everything is there

  • you can house a beardie in a glass viv the front of a wooden viv is glass so they can look out you just have to add a background to back of a glass viv

  • @xVxTaivXv if the ambient temperature outside the viv is high you can do this, otherwise the wood is better as it keeps the heat inside the vivarium better, due to it being a better insulator

  • what tank it that

  • Where did you buy the fluorescent light fixtures/holders and how much were they also what the brand name of it thanks

  • this is crap

  • What kind of material do you use for the front of the cage?

  • I use a 150 watt basking bulb for my beardies basking spot, one 10.0 and 5.0 uvb bulb in the middle, and a 150 watt infrared night bulb and he loves it.

  • I really want a Berdie, but I'm not allowed one! They look so cute! XD

  • surely the basking bulb would be protected and not the night time as basking one is hotter?

  • @IamMeUareYou the night time bulb doesn't give off light when it is on, so it is guarded for safety of dragons and owner

  • how much will a setup cost me for 1 beardie? :(

  • Is that a 'Java Reptile Branch' you use in the video?

  • @TaivornMcKenzie yes that is Java

  • @ReptileCentre how do you get your lights hanging like that please respond......

  • how often do you give them the bowl of veg? and how lo ng would you leave the bowl in the viv?

  • Comment removed

  • I don't believe this video. 3 dragons in one 4ft vivarium, no way, that is animal cruelty. A 4ft vivarium will house 1 bearded dragon only.

  • @gizmo001i Yeah, agreed. And plus, Bearded Dragons get VERY aggressive around other animals.

  • @ryanfleeson123 males are indeed aggressive towards each other. We only ever have one male per enclosure. If the females were beating each other up, we wouldn't keep them together, why would we?

  • @ReptileCentre Oh, I'm sorry. My mistake.

  • @gizmo001i Shes showing you how to set up a bearded dragons cage i dont think she nessaserily means for 3 ??

  • @sheridanily She clearly states that a 4 ft vivarium can house 3 dragons which is completely wrong. I even checked with my local vet who is a zoologist and fully trained with herpes and she also agrees that it is disgusting advice and dangerous for the dragons.

  • @gizmo001i I agree with you and the vet, That is to crowded even if it was only one bearde dragon...

  • @gizmo001i Herpes? Are you getting your vet and doctor mixed up?

  • awesome vid

  • Excellent video. A couple of questions: Do the incandescent or flourescent light fixtures risk burning your reptile if they are particularly dedicated climbers? Do you supplement with any sort of Calcium or Calcium+D3 in addition to a vitamin powder? Can you suggest a good brand for a reptile multivitamin?

  • @TakatchiSA Thank you. The fluorescent lighting gives of minimal heat and is not a problem. With arboreal lizards (i.e chameleons, anoles etc), the incandescent lighting should be guarded for safety.

We use a supplement called Nutrobal that contains calcium and vitamins (including D3), if an animal requires higher calcium due to egg production or rehabilitation we would use additional calcium powder so not to overdose on the vitamins.

  • what is that song called

  • Do you put glass in the front of your Vivarium.. or you leave it like that??

  • @ReptiDude33 i would have though so other wise they would crawl out DUUUUUUUHHHHHH!

  • get a person that wont make me sleepy nxt time but other wise very helpful!!!

  • thx m8

  • how would you get the lighting fixtures in then, looks like you've just made a small whole :/ you didn't explain that part?

  • Thankyou this is really helpful but I was wondering, can you put real plants in the tank or is this a no? If it isn't, could you suggest a few types please thankyou

  • @videomegan they would just eat the real plants plus they may make the vivarium too humid so I wouldn't recommend them

  • What are the connections called that you used for the uvb light?

  • @Frosty5451 we use a 10% UVB tube

  • This is a little advanced, maybe a video for starter owners?

  • @GreenCodo this the starter setup we sell in our store, we don't take short cuts with any of our animals. There isn't anything we would remove to make it more basic

  • @ReptileCentre Okay, I only say that because what if you want a beardie, but dont have enough space or money for something that big, and say you have other pets, so you van't leave the front open?

  • @GreenCodo if somebody wanted a beardie but didn't have the space they shouldn't really get one. There is a very similar species called the Rankins Dragon. It's closely related to beardies, looks like beardies but doesn't grown as large. So, it could be kept in a 3ft vivarium. They're not as common as beardies but absolutely perfect for someone who loves beardies but is a bit tight on space

  • @ReptileCentre Im sorry, I should have been more specific, what if your only getting one beardie? What size of Terrarium am I looking at?

  • @GreenCodo I would still use a 4ft, even for a single beardie

  • @ReptileCentre Okay ^_^ thanks! In this video, your tank is open on the front.. Does it have to be that way?

  • @GreenCodo no, not really but it does help to have a wooden top for insulation as heat rises. It also looks nicer and is easier to access, but in all honesty the heat and UVB are far more important

  • does the £290.60 bearded drgon stup have evrythin that i need for lighting and heating ?

  • Do you take u.s dollars on your website?

  • i love the music

  • 75 gallon

  • I am aking this to anybody who has knowlegde in owning bearded dragons i am getting one for my first reptile and i am wondering should get a 40 gallon breeder or a 75 gallon i personally think a 40 gallon is too small so im thinking 75 but i just want clarification by a experienced guy out has has beardies.

  • @TheTurtleaddict if you are just getting the one beardie a 40 gallon breeder will be plenty big enough i have 2adults in my breeder tank and they are happy and have plenty of space.if you are buying a juvenile you may want to board off half the tank for a while as large open spaces can daunt a baby beardie and they wont feel secure if you have the space for a 7ft viv then by all means as bigger is better but again for a juvenile consider boarding off a section for it to start off in hope i help

  • What size oftank would I need for a pair of bearded dragons, could u also tell me what size of tank I would need for a trio

  • I have a 3ft viv and 1 60W makes air temp 38'C hot end and 28'C cool end, he loves it in there.

  • should i get a thermostat? if i use two 60watt bulbs do i have to connect them to the thermostat? im confused

  • What kind of sand is the black and white sand for the eggs? Is it specifically for reptiles? What brand is it and at what age would a male and female start mating? And how would you know if the female is pregnant and when to put in the box of sand into the viv. please respond im getting two soon!!!!

  • What kind of sand is the black and white sand for the eggs? Is it specifically for reptiles? What brand is it and at what age would a male and female start mating? And how would you know if the female is pregnant and when to put in the box of sand into the viv.

  • hi, thanks for the brilliant video, very helpful. how do you attach the lights to the vivarium? are holes needed to be drilled? i have also read about the use of a heatmat, is this best/nessasary? thanks again :)

  • That is a really beautiful beardie!!! It's adorable<3

  • Stop wyning about it being super common its looks better then any rare retile

  • @WeLoveBeingRandom yes and yes!

  • Is one 75w basking lamp enough to get the temp up in one end of a 4 foot viv so the beardies can digest their food?

  • @Fozz20Movies 75w is not powerful enough. If you want to use just one bulb use a 100w, although 2x 60w will give you a nicer basking area

  • @ReptileCentre Thanks, I've swapped to a 100w bulb :)

  • Getting to German giant beardies in the same tank

  • If your housing multiple beadies should you include more hides? And also would be ok to house three females together or will they fight?

  • @TheTurtleaddict beardies are not a hiding animal, they never use them

  • @ReptileCentre That's weird. I've seen a lot of beardies that use hides.

  • @jedihunter176 we must have 500-600 here at the moment, if I were to go and count them I would say that less than 1% are not out basking. They all have places they could hide in, but have no need or desire to.

  • where do you get the rocks from?

  • @uhGenocide we have them in the shop

  • @ReptileCentre

i'd love to come down one day, but i live in South Wales so the journey is a bit of a way.

  • @ReptileCentre What about female bearded dragons living together will they fight or no.

  • cute things!I wanna have bearded dragon:DD

  • cute things!I wanna have bearded dragon:DD ıwish

  • with regard to water. will they drink out of one of those exo terra waterfalls or is it best just to use a normal water dish

  • @gimiausername I find that running water makes the vivarium too humid for beardies

  • to low of watt you should get a 100 wtt but other than that its a really good video

  • @beardies777 there are 2x 60w which creates a basking area of 100-110oF

  • i have a question, you say that in a glass vivarium they can see through the sides, which doesn't give them the sense of security, but in nature, they can also see everything.

  • @MrHerbavore in nature, they get spooked when they see things too, that's what keeps them alive.

  • I'm designing a viv for my college course and this has helped me out so so much - in my confusion/frustration i forgot they needed uv lamps >.< #naughtystudent

  • @chez300 never forget the UVB! :-)

  • Is it better to use sand or beech chips? I've had my dragon on sand for quite a bit but I make sure I feed him outside of the tank to avoid impaction. Is this okay? And also if you have a background on the back and sides of a glass tank will he feel secure?

  • thnx this was helpful!

  • Hello, can you use heat mats instead of the bulbs? (Excluding the UV) Between the mats and bulbs, which do you recommend? Thank you. Also, do you need to bathe the Beardies every few days?

  • @MinecraftJT mats do not heat the air, which is why we use bulbs. Ours get a bath once or twice a week :)

  • @ReptileCentre Ok, thanks for your help. :D

  • r in australia??????

  • @ReptileCentre hi i am getting a beardy in a cupple of weeks or mouths and i was wondering would i able to put reptile sand as substrate and i know it can couse impaction to the dragon but i was finking of feeding him or her in a separate container so they don't eat the crickets with sand and also what is a healthy number of crickets a day and also should i mix it it with meal worms and wax worms like one day crickets and the next worms thanks and great viv

  • @beardieeboy depends how old the beardies are. Our babies get crickets every day. Our adults every 2-3 days as their diet has changed. The bulk of it should be crickets but occasional mealworms or waxworms will not cause any harm

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, what size beech chips are they?

  • @hupler123 they are XL, or 'coarse' depending on brand

  • stupid bitch wont shut up her voice is annoying as shit

  • what about the heat mat ???

  • @aWwBrYaNmAn heat mats are no good for beardies, they need air temperature at night, not ground temperature. That's why we use the ceramic heater instead :-)

  • too many lights all you need is a UVB and a daylight basking spot lamp.... and why would u use beech wood chips when its a desert reptile?? pretty stupid to be honest, u want to make him feel at home as possible and use calcium sand...

  • @Armylad2k10 do you really think these guys come from sandy deserts?? There's a reason why we make the videos and you don't ;-)

  • @ReptileCentre some do, they come from australia...

  • @Armylad2k10 so does Rolf Harris, what's your point?

  • @ReptileCentre suck my dick, ur sacrificing too much ground space with tht big pieve of wood, beardies need a good amount of floor space....FAGGOT!

  • @Armylad2k10 @Armylad2k10 beardeddragonorg/articles/ Please do some research before you spout nonsense. Even the tinest notion of research turns up that sand as a whole to any non adult beardie is asking for trouble. Adults still bear some concern as well. Impaction is quite serious business.

  • @Armylad2k10 JUST BECAUSE ITS IN THE DESERT DOESN'T MEAN THEY LIVE IN THE SAND DUMB ASS

  • @Koopkeepitreal fuck you cock sucker, i hope u die faggot!

  • @Armylad2k10

These guys are professionals, you're a schoolboy.

  • they can live to 15 years..... mine is 12 years old

  • Nice video! Gave me alot of info and I am so excited to get my first Bearded dragon soon! :)

  • how would you get the spotlamp and ceramic fixtures into the viv?!!!

  • @TaivornMcKenzie watch the video ;-)

  • I have three bearded dragons and I love them to bits, I found this vidio to be very infomative, and I think it is important that people who have beardies or are thinking of getting one are abe to access such vidios. Thank you for taking the time to create this vidio.

  • @EminemmaResident thank you!

  • i have a male bearded dragon in a 34 gallon tank and he's 2 yrs old should i upgrade to a bigger tank?

  • @chevymuddiger what are the dimensions?

  • @ReptileCentre my moms friend told me to upgrade to a 40 gallon tank

  • Can i ask what viv that is you are setting up? As looking to get two dragons and like the look if the viv and cabinet that you are setting up.
