Did anyone catch the "Ed Screw Up" on the company name? Vicki Lawerence caught it and followed suit. He called his place "Central Hardware" when it was actually "ACME Hardware". He instructed the lady to go Downtown to ACME hardware when she was already in that store. Look at the big sign on the company window when the camera pans. I think Vicki is awesome - she just went with the flow even changing her lines to match another actors line flub.
@gene1536 - Given that Ms. Lawrence, by all accounts, was a comic protegée of Harvey Korman, it would figure that in many ways, she would surpass him in terms of keeping a straight face and in character (given his penchant for breaking up any time Tim Conway tried his particular antics).
ok this is kinda weird! but i find it hard to see vicki and mama as the same person. i mean they are,of course and i can tell just my looking at them but mama's voice and expressions are very different from any other character vicki plays.
And have yall notice that we(the public) truely believe that she is a 65-year old woman and yet they didn't put a stick of old woman makeup on vicki. they just put the outfit on her and she was mama!!
I think its kind of touching the way Ed stands up for and praises Mickey:
"Now you lay off on Mickey Hart, do you hear? He's a good man, he's the best there is and I'm lucky to have him working for me!!! He's honest, and trustworthy, and loyal!!! Dont you call him a creep! He's one of the finest, highest men that ever walked the face of this earth!!!
The collectors edition is available on DVD as well as VHS. I just checked some Carol Burnett videos out from the library yesterday! I'm so glad they had them. I checked out every one they had!
Did people back in the 40's think this was funny?

Everyone of them is great on this episode. The flathead screw dialogue between Harvey Korman and Tim Conway is hilarious.

That shows how great her portrayal was - one of the best in the history of television comedy (as was Carol Burnett's too)
