  • I couldn't help but ponder that this game's soundtrack is a bit similar to Paper Mario's

  • It hasn't been released on virtual console because its a super FX game. Super fx games are very difficult to emulate perfectly. BUT!! The gba version is coming to ambassador program 3ds's, so its all good

  • FUCKING A I miss this game. Nintendo, for the love of god put it up on Virtual Console already!

  • @zzyzx0788 dude just emulate it.

  • I loved this game but yes baby mario was annoying v.v

  • the music box theme somehow reminds me of the soviet hymn

  • I wonder why Nintendo hasn't released this game as a Virtual Console title yet... :/

  • Oh! It's my favourite game! Yoshi 4EVER!!!)))))))

  • all i ask for is a sequal on the 3ds or wii with co-op too maybe

  • "bwaaaaaaaa bwaaaaaaaaaa bwaaaaaaa".... - Oh come on, damn mario, let me play!!!!!!!!!...

  • i like the music @ 0:00 to 9:28

  • this song makes me cry sorry jejeje 9:09

  • This was a fun game, but I would have liked to see Super Mario World get a proper sequel. I would LOVE a true Super Mario World 2.

  • que hermosaa cancion e historiaa!!! adoro amo este juego! graciaspor el video! lo andaba buskando y salio este mil gracias

  • Relaxing music ... good memories ... nostalgia ... nintendo

5 people dont know what these are

  • The ending song is my childhood coming to an end along with the Sonic the Hedgehog 1 ending music.

  • 2:53 music sounds like naruto

  • nice video thanks for the up :) i love this songs!

  • ah! the good 'ol times! ^^ I miss this amazing game! :\

  • 3:24...

  • @tbean9 was that your favorite song from this game? ^-^? was my favorite also... I still love it to this day! brings back the majority of memories I had of this game way back when! ^^

  • Hard to believe that just that cute little Mario appears to be the plump plumber in later his life.

  • I'm used to playing the GBA version of this game, but man, the sound quality of the SNES original is so much better.

  • One of The Best Video Games Ever.

  • I played Yoshi Island DS thinking about Yoshi Island for SNES... All the sounds that I remembered was gone! It's still a good game, but SNES yoshi island's music was godlike! Damn...I am stuck with YI for SNES again...

  • Love this game... BTW... Godlike game skill u got there.... XD

  • ....after some extensive thought, I think this may be my favorite SNES game. Which is saying alot for that system. I think its tied with Super Metroid and Megaman X

  • @zzyzx0788 Hard to choose from the three, I really think they're my favourite games for the system. Plus, they all had great music. :3

  • It was all about this game and Super Mario RPG. Good Memories.

  • 1:57 one of the best songs in VGM history

  • Did you know that humans are biologically predispositioned to hate the sound of a baby crying?

  • @tylerdurden3891

Why do you think between levels one Yoshi hurls baby Mario at the next Yoshi?

  • @Deibodese Lol yes!!

  • Great game but the first super mario world was way better

  • hehe play this game lot :)

  • One of my favorite parts of this game was the level selection music, after completing an act the level selection music got a little more complex

  • I'm so glad this was released on the GBA so I could experience it at a young age. Best 2D Platformer ever created.

  • It's great having the extra levels on the GBA version, one of only GBA games I've got left. (The other being Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga!)

  • WAAH- WAAH-WAAH-WAAH-WAAH!

  • Koji Kondo = GOD.

  • I think the generation that was born Mid 80's lucked out on video games because we were a little bit older when gems like these came out.

This game was so much fun to play.

Not to bash other consoles because I have nintendo and microsoft stuff at home, but damn. Nintendo always knew how to add a little bit of magic to their games, man!

Some may disagree with the comparison but to me nintendo is like disney. There's always a little something that others cant duplicate quite as well...

  • @steviesniper No doubt about it.

  • @steviesniper : I totally agree. There's nothing like playing the games that made us gamers in the first place.....and I'm a total Nintenerd even though we have a PS2 and PS3 in the house and we still play our games on the computer.

Nintendo always has the games that will be enjoyable years and years after they games were released. I mean, I still love playing the old Mario/Metroid/ Castlevania/Mega Man games. They're still fun!!

  • @steviesniper

Back in the day, maybe. I find their new stuff doesn't have that same charm to it.

    ...just like Disney.

  • @steviesniper ha, ya we did

  • This game had so perfect, well thoughtout gameplay. All time classic!

  • They don´t make games like this one anymore :( Thank god that I was a kid of the 90s

  • Got this game for GBA too. Never finished level 2 after years.

  • At least Princess Toadstool didn't get herself kidnapped in this one. The storyline was pretty okay. I especially love the battle music with baby bowser, I mean when he turned gigantic.

  • Flower Garden is one of those songs that i just cant get out of my head lol kinda like Butter Building from the kirby games :D

  • one of my favorites ! <3

i lvoe the songs from this game ! i had the cd but i lose

    :(

  • when i was a kid I always freaked out when I got hit and baby mario started flying around. I was like OH SHIT OH SHIT O SHIT COME BACK YOU DAMN BABY!!!!!!!!

  • OMG! THE BEST GAMES EVER were Yoshi's island and Super mario bros 3!!!!

ive played new super mario bros for DS and i hate it :( i want them to remake SMB3 and yoshi's island for ds again but the Originals!!! not the crappy remakes!!! i hate them :( horrible music and i just plain hate them, BRing back the originals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs up if you agreee!!! :o

  • The last great mario game for me... Ah the good old days...

  • MAKES ME CRY!!!!

  • @MatMadik ME TOO ;_;

  • What program do you use to rip the music, i've tried to rip the music from F-Zero with the Zsnes emulator but i can't do it well because of the engine sound of the cars, so if you use another program or emulator let me know.

PS I don't like the SPC files that can be found on the internet cause they only last 1:30 minutes. i want at least 3:00 minutes last.

  • Miyamoto + Koji Kondo = WOW, genius, emotional attachment to its finest. It makes me cry to listen to all of this again after decades have passed... Its a strange feel which only those who were there and absolutely loved this game back in the day with their souls could ever understand. gameplay, level design and music all directly from videogame heaven.

  • wow. paper mario really borrowed alot of tunes (and enemies) from this game.

  • Woah, you got some mad skills at this game man :D I love this game, makes me wanna dig out my snes again and play :D

  • @Disodiumify check out speeddemosarchive (where the video was borrow from), if you want to see impressive skills... I think someone's working to improve the run this clip cam form, if I'm not mistaken ^_^

  • Damn... this game was probably one of the best Mario games of all time. They even had awesome Yoshi sounds before they came out with the annoying sounds he makes today. When you did the floating jump he sounded more like heheheheheh instead of vroooooooooooom. Here I go, nerdin' out over Yoshi's Island

  • @MoohaCory Nerdin' out like the rest of us. :D

  • its been so long... brings back old time mario memories

  • fucking awesome!!

  • there should have been more songs from this game in brawl on the yoshi's island stage. that flower field song is pure crap.

  • oh god, this used to be my favorite game when i was a kid, i can still remember the music! amazing game, wish i had never sold the thing now :( along with mario kart on the snes!!

  • I never sold mine.

  • @MINICLIPGAMER good decision, they are probably worth a lot now, not that u want to sell them of course... just bask in their sheer awesomeness

  • I have the GBA version. I'm only 14 :(

  • probably my favorite video game music of all time. Maybe a tie with turtles in time though.

  • wait a sec, no kammy koopa beef up music?? that was the best one~!!!

  • uuuaaaaaaaah nostalgia tsunami. (incidentally, i only know how to spell that because of "johnny tsunami" )

the whole opening, man, i'm forwarding this to my brother. the days sitting in my aunts old apartment in our jammies. wooow, she'd always beat the hard levels for us, like the frogcastle lol man i love this game *goes searching for it*

  • This is one of the most amazing games of all times, hands down

  • @mathieu2011 agreed man; it's aged quite well; I still enjoy it even today :)

  • The great nostalgia...

  • Yoshi island 4EVER

  • v.v i LOVE yoshi

i get sad everytime i finish the game

yoshi story and this one v.v

    and the music its beautiful

btw is this a koji kondo creation?

  • good game

but the damn baby was annoying :-/

  • WAAAAAH~~~~!!!!!!

    *pop*

  • @Odin5d The Gameboy Advanced version's cry was more annoying.

  • @Odin5d

    BWAAA BWAAA BWAAA

  • @Odin5d As far as I know, Mario's cry was designed to be extremely annoying. That way you pick the poor thing up instead of leaving him be for any longer than absolutely necessary.

  • @TuucciZ yep maybe but for me as a lifetime gamer it's enough to know my healthbar dcreases :D

  • This is one of the reasons why the SNES is my favorite system :)

  • I loved the cave music so much on this game beside the final boss music man garudoh thank you for the nostaglia memeories THERE IS NO SCHOOL LIKE THE OLD SCHOOL PERIOD.

  • Aww, you left out the Castle/Fortress and Big Boss themes, two of the best BGM's of the title.

  • I love this game too!!! I bought one for GBA to play it in my daughter's DS but it didn't work, i was so sad , i get it on Amazon but used because the new ones are so expensive!!!!! I don't know why, i'm trying to get it again but it's hard to find it...

  • It's not possible to say this game has the best soundtrack ever. Nintendo has composed too much perfect music to envalue one game's selection more than some other's.

However, it's easy to say this is one of the best soundtracks ever. So laid-back, so fitting into the atmosphere you'd expect from Yoshi.

  • This game easily has one of the greatest collection of bosses ever. They're all so creative and unique (and adorable), it's impossible not to love 'em!

    Also, 3:26 is friggin' godly.

  • The beginning music was always my favorite. I always liked watching my oldest sister play this more than I liked playing it myself. She was so good at this game.

    Ahh, memories.

  • I liked how the stage select music kept getting more instrumentation as you completed more stages =)

  • muy lindo, mario me hizo un profesional y le entrego las gracias por este juego tambien.

  • Nice Vid! I Like Play That Game. I PLay that game in GBA Version and i complete in spanish and 100% XDD

    Favorites :)

  • I love the music starting at 1:58, it's SO cute =D

  • I actually played through the GBA version. There are a few notable differences in the compositions.

  • great use of the FX in this game, one of the most challenging Mario games, especially trying to get a perfect 100 on all the levels

  • This game is number 3 on my top ten list of best games ever because of two reasons:

    1:Gooooooooooooooood music(especially intro)

2:Awesome last boss with a KICKASS soundtrack

  • This game is very special to me. I love this game so much! It's also cool that it was released the year I was born.

  • 7:09 they used that theme on Super Mario 64 when you had the flying cap.

  • The first song, the intro's music...gets to me everytime...

  • 2:53 sounds a lot like music in Bleach

  • 5:35 :-)

  • you know i wonder what's nintendo taking so long to release this immortal classic on the wii vc nintendo if your listening release this game as soon as you can what's the hold up nintendo release the game already on the vc review so new generation of gamers could experaince this classic this beautiful game please nintendo were not asking for the moon just release yoshi's island on the vc while you still can

  • I wish it would come to the VC too...I think the aggravating delay is partially because this game uses the FX chip and it might be harder and more expensive to emulate.

  • They have ALL donkey kong countrys, and THEY used super FX

But I guess because of its release on the GBA makes them overlook it...

  • And, while you're at it, the Mother/Earthbound series, if possible.

  • I know what its like. How incredibly sad is to listen to this again and remember things that never come back... : (

  • I wish Nintnedo Still made games like this that has stayed with us all these years! Were not exactly gonna be seeing summat like this for Job Island (I know Nintnendo didnt make job island but u know what i mean!) and Mario Party 8!

God I` ve watched this over and over! =D

  • I KNOW whats like! Shigeru Miyamoto and Koji Kondo are GENIUSIS. My heart is suddently fulfilled with immense happyness and huge nostalgy. Everythings is so perfectly arranged to create entertainment and emotional attachment... its just mingblowing. I can't express it either. It meant my childhood, my never-seen-again many friends, it represents the memory of the very best time of my life. My childhood.

  • i just started playing this game again last night, and i almost forgot how much i love it! =3

  • I was playing a song in my band class yesterday and I was like, this song sounds familiar. I knew I hadn't heard the exact tune before, but it was in the same key, same tempo, and started on the same notes as the opening theme to this game. So when it finally hit me where this theme was from, I picked up my Ds and played the GBA port.

  • best

    soundtrack

    ever

  • one time when my older brother was playing the final boss once (mum played with him cos he was little) he got really scared of bowser running closer and closer to the screen, so he threw the controller at my mum and she had to do the boss XD

  • Oh man, that level at 2:08 reminds of the time I fell out of my chair and hit my head on the dresser. I was bleeding profusely and crying while all this happy music was playing.

  • simply love the music

  • I loved <3

  • lol my favorite is Obstacle Course :P

  • *cries* one of my most favourite games EVER!

  • Underworld tune is the best. clearly.

  • yeah lol

  • One of the greatest platformer games out there. My favourite mario game, still to this day!

  • Donut lifts is one of my favorite songs

  • I feel sad for all the people who never got to play this game =/

  • Doh, oh yea, Koji Kondo.

  • Who was it that wrote the music for this game again?

  • This version is a billion times better than the DS version - map and music wise. What's up with that? creators got slack XD

  • it was cause ARTOON developed the DS one.

  • Beautiful graphics; They hold up well even today.

  • Because the graphic is so special!

  • i feel happy now

  • Oh hey it's the Soviet National Anthem.

  • Make Eggs, Throw Eggs and the Athletic theme are my favorite songs from the game.

  • This game is so great!!!!!

  • This game was so addictive! I remember the hours I spent on it! The boss battles were unique, like the one with the giant penguin on the circular moon or the final battle vs Godzilla like Bowser! Ah! Memories...

  • I love 4:21, it's like a little jamboree thingamajig. I wish I could play it so bad!! and the way Kamek talks in this game is awesome.

  • I've always loved the cave theme of this game, so cool.

  • Yo, coole Sache. ^^

...und ich hab immer gedacht, ich wär der Einzige, der das cool findet... oh, Mann.

  • This is the best mario game so far.

  • Actually my favorite game ever!

  • Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy.

I thought that was the coolest shit ever when this game first came out.

  • wow, my favourite jump and run of all time! the last boss is masterpiece ^^

  • thank you for saying that. I love the colors and the cuteness and everything. the last boss in Yoshi's Island is the most exciting boss/level in my mind. those Japs are geniuses

  • i agree.. this is one of the greatest gsmes i ever played.. i got this game like 14 years ago and still play it to this day.. the color schemes, different backgorunds, bosses, music, everything is captivating.. a true classic

  • Super Mario World was good but Yoshi's Island

    was better, in my opinion.

  • I kinda agree. they're both great in their own realms, but I have a huge inclination for Yoshi's Island. and I'm a big Yoshi fan, so this game's a dream come true for me :D

  • this was super nintendo.

  • me too I Remember playing this game....I jsut loved it...brings back memories

  • THE best speedrun I have ever seen.

  • All the good old memories come back!

  • I still remember playing this game so fucking much. I have a constant visual image, whenever I was about 6, sitting in front of some old ass big screen Television set, with my parents behind me telling me time to go to sleep for Kindergarden (Yes, I started school late).

  • This game was amazing. Quite a departure from the previous Mario games, but it payed off. Brilliant art style, music, and level design. Also, gotta love killing Naval Piranha before the battle even starts.

  • this was like the best gameboy game ever. and it had the catchiest music.

  • Gameboy??? Wow, someone has their games confused :)

  • gameboy, gameboy advance.. uno wat i mean XD

  • Yoshi's Island had the best music.

  • My favorite Super Nintendo game ever! I grew up with this game.

  • i love it! :3

  • i wish this game was on the virtual console. it's so fun.

  • eww, the first song is so out of tune.

but that aside, this is probably my favourite game ever.

  • No it isn't, you need your ears checked. :) Also keep in mind is supposed to be a child's toy playing that melody.

  • yeah, the first song really sounds like a baby's toy but the action is brilliant so dont worry, yoshi's island is a good game.

  • Man, I remember beating this game the very same day I borrowed it from a friend. It sucked up my attention to the point where I couldn't stop playing until it was over. I remember the music being really cool and fun. :)

  • This game also has one of the coolest versions of the Starman song.

  • the best music is after you turn on the game after playing a file with 100% complete, and the intro screen is dark. thats where its at.

  • This music is nothing short of epic! The game music to this great game is simply a masterpiece!

  • thanks for downlaoding em i love listening to them while playing runescape much better music than jagexs music lol :)

  • My favourite SNES game. The art style, the presentation, the secrets and especially the music (Athlete is quite possibly the most awesome tune to come out of the Mario series). I've loved this game since I played it as a kid, even if I didn't have an inkling as to what I was doing.

  • The final battle theme to this game is so badaas

  • great vid love the intro song too lol nice and relaxing

  • Good music, Athlete is one of my favorites here. I also really like the map theme, how it takes a short ditty & keeps adding more instruments as it goes on (you cut most of it out here, but I'm sure that was for time). I like Yoshi's Story more for its look than its gameplay, like a kids drawings come to life, which fills the game's theme completely.

  • man ur a yoshis island MASTER
