I'm English but i can't stand England, What's wrong with that?, England is no where near as good as America. Just admit the truth instead of being patriotic
i just find american humour a little to rediculous to be honest. the writers in a lot of the shows are still relying on male vs female jokes. that shit was dated in the early 90's.
I'm English, think about this, Ricky Gervais' favourite movie is Spinal Tap, lead actor Christopher Guest who is American and plays an 'English rockstar' to absolute perfection, its very funny and somewhat bridges the gap between American and British humour, especially as its observed from an Americans point of view, so take that into consideration, people are funny 'not countries or flags'.
Ricky Gervais is one of my favorite comedians and a very clever comedian at that. It is very odd to hear that anyone would not consider him absolutely hilarious... but he is a SMART writing comedian ,so just like Larry David and how people don't get some of his comedy, which is f---ing brilliant too, it's usually people who would probably be more entertained by visual comedy and not by comedy that actually takes the using of the brain. So BRAVO Ricky, I enjoy everything you do!!!!!

Every time I watch a video with a British comedian in it, there is an argument in the comments section about how British humour is different to American humour. And people actually get angry about it! It's like, get the fuck over it, he's a British comedian - he's more than likely going to appeal more to British viewers, but many Americans will also find him funny o_o
Okay, now my anger is over, I love this video :D Ricky Gervais ftw
it embarasses me the ay so many Brits are like 'ya, comedy has to b dumbed down for Americans and we're so intllectually superior' its utter bullshit. people go on about how arrogant they are but when british people make comments like that they look like pretentious snobs. Of course, he has to change his acts for different audiences because otherwise they won't get the cultural references etc, but its not necessarily 'dumbed down (yar)' its just changed to suit their style. good on him i say
You've used a possessive apostrophe on "American's", which is just a plural. Don't criticise other people's English when you can't write for shit, dumbass.
Rick Gervais said in an interview he never has to change his acts for Amercian audiences...apart from removing cultural references they won't have heard of. There isn't that much of a big difference between English and U.S humour. :)
please don't attempt to speak for all Brits; i find most Yank humour more consistently funny than Brit stuff. The great stand-ups were invariably American. Most British TV humour is crappy, the odd one or two are great.
It really isn't, lol. I'm American and I can't stand the US version. I prefer the originals of a lot of things, like certain books over movie versions.
If you want to mention any American humor, stay away from anything mainly slapstick. King of Queens is probably a good example. Personally I loved Frasier and [some] Seinfeld also.
try listening to this (as apposed to just hearing)again and you may see how he is really making comedic gems out of people,s ingrained belief systems. One of his great talents is offering another way of looking at all those interpretations of things that you and i take for granted as being real. Not exactly the forte of an American comedian.Bill Hicks and George Carlin excepted.
