I generally shoulder barge doors so I don't have to touch them, or if they have handles, use my hips to push the handles down, but I HATE! the doors with knob handles that you actually have to wrap your hands around.

AND public toilet doors...would be so much better if the opened the opposite way, so you could push the door as you walk our, rather than pull it. I always get extra paper towel to use as a hand shield when opening those doors *shudders*

You probably missed your opportunity while you were there, but some of the labs at UNSW have automated hand washing machine things. You would ADORE them. First it turns on water to wet your hands, then it dispenses soap, and then after a few moments (to let you do your 30s hand scrub) the water turns on again so you can rinse! And it's all sensor driven! It's fantastic! They're the coolest thing ever! (ok I'll stop gushing now)

The most redundant thing about washrooms is the bathroom exit. You wash your hands and half of the time I see people don't even bother washing their hands or even wash their hands without soap. How do you open the knob without getting contaminated?
