  • Does Tosin Abasi Shave his legs

  • he was the live guitarist of born of osiris. He is the guitarist of Animals as Leaders.

  • Why not just wear y fronts out and about

  • SWAG

  • Excellent title to a video.

  • HIPSTER.

  • To the guys bitching about Tosin calling either BOO or AAL heavy metal, he probably said it just to make things easier for the guy interviewing him. I'm sure if Tosin said something like "Progressive Metal" the guy interviewing would be like "Darrr wut that?11one"

  • @xgeneralzimx exactly, thats what i say to everyone about my music to lol,

  • 0:52 He said a dirty!

  • Tosin is probably the coolest person ever born

  • Those shorts go hard

  • Swuuuggg

  • @Pennys1 You need sun genres in metal today, it's not simply elitism. You couldn't even tell a fellow musician what you like or play without having them. The sub genres

in metal today are literally genres in and of themselves in many cases. Slipknot and Obscura, for example, couldn't be called the same thing by anyone who cares at all

about the music. That's just a fallacy to say metal is metal, or something along those lines, because it honestly isn't.

  • @BER2ERKER it is a necessary evil.

  • what ? is he in BOO now ?

  • @rot105and no i guess he used to be in 2009.

  • @rot105and he was a long time ago back before Jason came along. He left to go do stuff for AAL

  • @rot105and he was in boo, a few years ago.

  • only thing bad is his shorts r too high XD haha

  • I love it when he says "what the fuck"

  • Tosin is just too hardcore for men's clothing. \m/

  • he's not from Born Of Osiris, he was just a guest artist ! but he's cool though, and could fit into the band, he's band is called Animal As Leaders BTW!

  • Gods can wear whatever they want

  • "I cut my dreads off and i was like, fuck what do i do with my hair now" hahaha

  • classy swag.

  • He doesn't play in a heavy metal band.

  • @Likeyoucare

    yes he does.

  • @xPrisonOfTheMindx

    AAL aren't heavy metal.

  • @Likeyoucare They're heavy. And they're metal. Heavy+Metal=HEAVYMETAL.

  • @MetalKillHiphop

They're deathcore. Deathcore =/= heavy metal.

  • @Likeyoucare Dude Heavy Metal is like an overview of all sub genres. Sub-Genres are fucking annoying. And I wouldn't call them Deathcore.

  • @MetalKillHiphop

Heavy metal breaks down into extreme metal. Extreme metal breaks down into 4 main subgenres: thrash, death, doom and black. From there it breaks into the cross-genres, such as deaththrash or blackened thrash. Deathcore comes from hardcore, hence the -core ending. Listen to their riffs, it's souless wankery set to deathcore riffs.

  • @Likeyoucare Wrong on several different levels

  • @Pennys1

Please explain it to me, I'm sure you know EVERYTHING about heavy metal.

  • @Likeyoucare Explain what? explain to you that your whole concept of sub genres doesn't mean shit and heavy metal is just that, heavy metal?

  • @Pennys1 That's what I'm trying to tell him lol. It's pointless, he's probably one of those new age, "everything has to be specifically categorized by every goddamn note in the song" kind of people.

  • @Pennys1

You obviously have no concept of what metal is. I'm sure you're one of the same kind of people who categorize shitty metalcore and groove "metal" as metal. I also bet "MoP" is the faster album you heard, and AaL are the "heaviest". Please, don't listen to any real metal bands, last thing we true metalheads need are people shitting up our scene.

  • @Likeyoucare I'd just like to say that you're one gigantic faggot if I've ever had the displeasure of typing to one. First off, you're premise that I don't know metal is outrageous and laughable. You're automatically implying that I don't own every Death, Nile and Hate Eternal album. So yeah, I guess I don't know real metal, huh? Secondly, I don't walk around with an elitist chip on my shoulder about what's metal and what is isn't. Metalcore, groove metal, and metal are true metal, deal with it.

  • @Pennys1

Lol, you must be a true metalhead because you listen to some of the biggest names in metal. It'd be like someone saying they know about thrash and haven't listened to anything other than the big four. You don't know real metal, I can already tell you have never heard "Dreaming with the Dead", or "Infernal Overkill", hell, I bet you haven't even heard "Vol. 4". Metalcore is a subgenre of hardcore, groove metal is a fusion genre.

  • @Likeyoucare Oh, so I guess a true metalhead is someone who listens to obscure metal bands, and takes a completely purist stance on what's true metal or not. You're probably one of those faggots who worship Varg Vikernes and believe the truest metal is the one's that have garbage low-quality production and are ultra "Kvlt". I know I'm correct, there's no implications. Categorization of heavy metal is what killed its significance. You're no better than the "metalcore" fags you so vehemently hate.

  • @Pennys1

Black metal sucks. They are categorized as such because they sound alike. How does AAL sound like Iron Maiden? Accept? Judas Priest? Those bands defined what metal sounded like, and are generally the go-to for when calling a band "metal". How did it kill it's significance? Please explain without sounding like someone unfamiliar with the genre.

  • @Likeyoucare Maiden, Accept and Judas Priest are what you may label has "heavy" metal bands. Of course they have a different sound, as these bands had produced albums in the better portion of the late 70's and 80's. That doesn't mean that that particular metal should be put into subcategories of endless faggotry by people who like to separate and prioritize their favorite music in elitist categories. The significance was killed when metal broke up into different categories by elitists.

  • @Pennys1

So, Venom, Death, Possessed, Pantera, etc are elitists who killed metal? They all have made demos/albums with "___ Metal" titles to refer to their particular sound of metal.

  • @Likeyoucare They're not the elitists. They've created a different style of metal but its still metal. Elitist fans are the ones who try to draw distinctions and divisions as what's true metal or not according to how metal actually started. Even Chuck Schuldiner said in an interview that the separation of metal into categories is what fucked it up for everyone and made the elitist feel like their brand of metal was "truer." Deathcore is still metal, that's what you fail to understand.

  • @Pennys1

But they were categorizing themselves into different subgenres than other bands. And you claim that elitists doing that very thing is what is killing metal. You're mentally retarded. Show me this interview, please. No it is not, Deathcore is hardcore with death metal influences, this is what you fail to understand.

  • @Likeyoucare Elitist cunts like you are the ones creating metal categories to safely put away in boxes, so your feeble mind won't become overwhelmed with the plethora of true metal music that exists out here. Yes, I ascribe Death's "Human" as much as metal as Chimaira's "Pass out the Existence." Deal with it. I can't believe I'm wasting my time and raging over the Internet over a virginal neckbearded afterbirth waste cunt like you, you have no significance in the world of metal. Fuck off and die

  • @Pennys1

Repetitious use of the phrase "deal with it", as to imply that you are correct. That's laughable. They bands are labelled as these genres because they all have characteristic traits of each other, "Feel the Fire" has traits of "Black Metal", so it's thrash. "Wedding the grotesque" has traits of "Scream Bloody Gore" so it's death metal. Animals as Leaders have traits of deathcore bands, SO THEY ARE FUCKING DEATHCORE. I love the comparison of albums that don't sound alike.

  • @Pennys1

I lol'd at "raging over the internet" which is proceeded by your pure ass-aggravation spewing forth. I may have no significance, but I at least understand the culture and subgenre of heavy metal. You listen to fucking Jamie Foxx, for Christ's sake, the most you know about metal is "the guitars are distorted, huurrrrr duurr"

  • @Likeyoucare My complete butt-devastation over the Internet results in the penultimate gigantism of the faggotry you upheld. You no nothing about heavy metal. "HURRR DURR I PUT METAL IN CATEGORIES THAT MUST MEAN IM COMPLETELY KNOWLEDGABLE OF HEAVY METAL D00D." I listen to a plethora of different types of music. Just because I listen to R&B, my knowledge of heavy metal should be completely thrown out of the window? Give me a break, faggot.

  • @Pennys1

I "no nothing" about heavy metal, although I know what bands fight which subgenres, am familiar with every subgenre of heavy metal? Why shouldn't it? R&B is nothing like metal, and shows you're an outsider to the genre.

  • @Likeyoucare And that causes more division and endless elitism which spawned the movement that the more underground your band is the more "true" that metal becomes.

Obscure metal =/= true metal. No one cares about which bands fight which sub genres. Hardly any bands fight any subgenres because they're too busy trying to innovate and create different styles of playing, as opposing to circle jerking about who's metal is more elite.

  • @Pennys1

A death metal band influenced by more underground metal bands is going to be more true as their is a strict and limited metal influence. As I said before, many bands themselves have created names of metal subgenres themselves. Possessed and Death both called themselves death metal. So are they the elitists you claim are ruining metal?

  • @Likeyoucare Also, it's a complete joke how you'd consider Animals as Leaders as a Deathcore band when they're fucking instrumentalist to begin with. That's like saying Death's "Scream Bloody Gore" is speed-thrash because of the high tempo and cord progressions they use. You see how stupid that sounds? Burn in hell forever.

  • @Pennys1

"Scream Bloody Gore" implemented several different techniques, and a much harsher sound than found in earlier thrash releases. SBG has a much harsher and extreme sound than say Metallica, Exodus, and even Necrophagia. AAL have chugga chugga riffs, characteristic of deathcore, just over set by endless and soulless wankery.

  • @Likeyoucare Like I said, Death, Metallica, Exodus, Pantera, Exhorder, Saxon, etc all had different metal sounds, but they're still METAL. Subgenres are for wanders who like to bring their particular music into apotheosis, like if average people and musicians actually give a shit. Animals as Leaders is still METAL, albeit a vastly different style of it. Deathcore is still metal. Deal with it.

  • @Pennys1

There's no traits of actual metal there, its like calling a turtle a bird. And just as silly. Stop saying "deal with it", internet memes are shit.

  • @Likeyoucare How are there no traits of metal in AAL? Other than the obvious similarities in time sig changes, tempo changes, and minor chord progressions and riffage, its metal as you can get. They're just instrumentalist, so they don't have the growl or scream or whatever. It's not calling a turtle a bird. That's stupid. You could say AAL is like a hawk, and older metal is like a bald eagle. They're both birds.

  • @Pennys1

    An example of death/metalcore: /watch?v=snujDM7mpyI

    Animals as Leaders: /watch?v=NmfzWpp0hMc&ob=av3e

    Notice any similarities?

  • @Pennys1

And finally, what true modern metal sounds like: /watch?v=OmsXYwrZxV8

Now get your stupid ass out of here.

  • @Likeyoucare Here's the interview: /watch?v=cLpVTEJXlYA

Animals as Leaders still metal, and besides the breakdowns, they're in no fucking way hardcore. Get the fuck outta here. I don't how you can still be stubborn yet retarded at the same time. Deathcore = metal. Hung, Drawn and Quartered = Metal. Categories suck. Underground metal =/= modern true metal. You're still not getting it. Elitists try to make their particular favorite brand of metal as "true metal."

  • @Pennys1

He said he was against categories because of the association with them, that scares people off. You just took a little part of the entire message. Breakdowns for one have no place in metal. Take away all the wankery and all your left with is metal/deathcore. watch?v=QnlXrTfMx-s a noted hardcore band that played a major role in the development of metalcore. /watch?v=R098zbkoPxE notice the similarities?

  • @Likeyoucare I'll concede that he was mainly talking about the associations with them, but he still had the idea of how categories can separate and further divide metal, and we're even seeing the association with them today (i.e. "metalcore fags play soulless breakdown-driven music derrr herrrr"). Anyway, i don't know why you keep linking me to metalcore bands, you're just further reinforcing my point that its still true metal.

  • @Likeyoucare Darkthrone started off as a Black metal band, but then added a crust-punk vibe and sound to their music. Does that make them any less metal than Transylvanian Hunger-era? Nope. Does it make them any more crust-punk? Nope. "Breakdowns for one have no place in metal." Says who? Do you really think Voor had the intention of calling his demo "Evil Metal" with the intention that it was "the purest form of metal ever"? Get me a fucking break.

  • @Likeyoucare Death, Possession, Pantera, etc, etc, didn't create their brand of metal and deemed it "superior" or "true" metal. Elitist fans and wankers like yourself created that paradigm. Go fuck off somewhere, faggot.

  • @Pennys1

So bands like Voor who released a demo called "Evil Metal" didn't deem it true metal? Venom didn't deem "Black metal" as true metal? Are you fucking retarded?

  • @Likeyoucare Furthermore, you can't sit there and say that these early influential metal bands had the intention of having their music copied and imitated. So in your mind and world, true metal means that bands that sound like Venom HAVE to sound like venom with no sense of individuality and their own unique style? How boring would that be? Venom probably did deem Black metal is true metal. But Black metal isn't the only true metal. Quit projecting your ideas of true metal onto these bands.

  • @Likeyoucare Maybe you should listen to Animals As Leaders before you assume that just because he's fast, he's soulless. Steve Vai, or Joe Satriani are soulless, because they obviously have to make orgasm faces to try and convince the public that they're "feeling" the song. Tosin plays with soul. Soulless is the polar opposite of what he's doing. And who can even define what songs have "soul", or "feeling". It all depends on the listener.

  • @MetalKillHiphop

He's not even remarkably fast. Sure he's technical, but technicality =/= good music. And Vai and Satriani are FAR from soulless. He sounds like a robot just hammering out notes with no emotion or feeling. Listen to Electric Wizard, listen to how Jus feels each and every note, listen to Jason Becker, listen to how he makes even the fastest of sweeps sound like angels themselves are playing. That's emotion, not this mindless wank shit put over chugga chugga shit.

  • @Likeyoucare That's funny cause Steve Vai called him the future of guitar. And that is veeeerrry fast. You're stupid.

  • What a badass! I wear alot of vintage 70's and 60's button up dress shirts. They aren't exactly "in" right now but oh well, I love them! lol

  • he is always wearing that hat ALWAYs!!

  • DRESSED LIKE A FUCKING DJENTLEMAN

  • Seems like a style out of the 1920's Great Gatsby or something. I applaud Tosin for not being conformist sheep following the herd in his everyday life. It's sad that he feels he would have to dress differently just to appease an audience for shows. Unfortunately if he didn't dress differently for shows, then he would probably be ostracized by the ignorant superficial fans of metal who haven't heard of him. Tosin is one of the best innovative guitarist I've heard in awhile. I<3 Animals As Leaders

  • @yllierutube he plays in these outfits now lol

  • Comment removed

  • thats whats cool about Tosin 100% original and doesnt give a shit what you think.

  • what a nicely dressed man

  • Tosin is classy as fuck.

  • This is awesome, he's not even in Born of Osiris. He just filled in for them during that time, the Summer Slaughter tour in '09. Even if you don't listen to metal, anyone who saw this should search up Tosin Abasi and Animals as Leaders (his REAL band). He's one of the most talented people of our time. BoO for life.

  • siiickest guitar player

  • @despondence he was the guitarist for Born of Osiris at the time.

  • "Heavy metal...haha.."

  • Kinda cool

  • Guys, he played for boo before he recorded his solo record

  • Haha if you saw him on the street you would think he is gay, but actually he is like the besy guitarist in the world!

  • @TrevorsaurusRex What does being gay or not have to do with guitar skill?

  • @LSissoko Shutup and quit supporting gay rights.

  • He doesn't play for BOO. Dumbass.

  • @ParkwayFAN1995 He used to.

  • @throbbingwartool What lol no? He did. He filled in for a bit

  • Born Of Osiris? He's From Animals As Leaders!!!!

  • I want that hat

  • 0:31 greatest face ever

  • He is joining born of osiris so check your facts AAL was his 'solo project' after some other band I don't recall the name of.

  • @Datacaust Nah dude AAL is his full time band lol

  • @SelfEnterprise Possibly, I'm referencing something I heard about his record company asking him to 'go solo' from his previous band the result was AAL. a quick look at his wiki thing helps. He is actually in a band called T.R.A.M. now.

  • @Datacaust After that fail statement, check YOUR facts

  • Tosin Abasi just did three tours with Born of Osiris before Jason Richardson filled in.

  • He's in Animals as Leaders..not Born of osiris

  • not born bum

  • lol is this punkd?

  • cant tell if troll...

  • im shocked hes not gay

  • If you look around on Youtube, he HAS worn those shorts onstage, and the crowd was headbanging in full force. It's not the clothes you wear that matter, but how you wear them.

  • Amazing guitarist, terrible dress sense

  • What a badass, dressing like he wants to, and not caring and what everyone else thinks. That's a mentality I wholeheartedly agree with and try to stay true to all the time. If I like something, I'll wear it. No big deal. This video brought a smile to my face... just seeing another dude who actually gives a shit about looking nice.

    Tosin = legend.

  • ANIMALS AS LEADERS not born of osiris

  • @phreestylesk8r this was back when he was filling in for boo for a couple tours

  • @pandamanparty oh, makes more sense

  • hehe nice :) FINALLY someone in metal who doesn't dress like satan... Probs to him and the Periphery guys for having a little taste :D no offense btw! I believe wearing all-black certainly can be a very cool, stylish and fashionable look, if done properly.

  • Tosin Abasi, Djentleman.

  • I fallowed them before the were famous From, the days he had locks to this very day. I love them

  • I fallowed them before the were famous From, the days he had locks to this very day.

  • a marshall bag half off? that's pretty sick.

  • the dude is not and never was in born of osiris.

  • @TheBlargablarg Yeah he was, he was a touring member for a while I believe.

  • @TheBlargablarg He def filled in for them for a couple tours check out the you tube vids. Oh yea and he helped them write the new album. BAMB! lol

  • @TheBlargablarg THANK YOU! i was browsing comments just waiting for someone to point that fact out.

  • Since he's black, it must be twice as hard for him to hide a boner in those.

  • @lilskaters7

Or get it in there anyway?... :P

  • At marshals... for half off. I lold

  • Tosin: When i am on stage i wear black.... all black.

    Me: you're naked up there?!?!!?!?

I AM NOT RACIST OK?!?! IT WAS A JOKE DONE HATE ON ME!

  • @littletingoddess96 that is fucking terrible, not for racism, just the fact it is a completely shit joke.

  • @LemagraS don't be an ass dude get over it......

  • He is NOT the guitarist of BoO. Animals as Leaders, people. That's his band.

  • @DM4ZE Apparently you don't realize that this video is from 2009, and in 2009 Tosin Abasi was a touring member of Born of Osiris...

  • @DM4ZE Thats what i was thinking too... BoO just got better.

  • Tosin can walk around in women's clothes and still be more manly than you.

  • Those are womens shorts modeled after mens shorts, what difference does it make? Almost everything that's coined as womens fashion was mens first anyway.

  • It's sad you have to make a video about his fashion. Who really gives a shit what he wears? He's better at guitar than you'll be at anything. It's obvious you are jealous of what he can do with a guitar.

  • @b0b0l0gy I think they made a video about his fashion because it is unique. I want that hat. And yes it is depressing that none of us will be as good as him :/

  • Short shorts: djent as fuck.

  • There's a recording of Tosin playing with BoO live in the suggestions to the left, please stop making fools out of yourselves (some of you).

  • tosin can wear whatever the fuck he wants :)

  • god i want to have a beer with this guy

  • 0:18 ALL BLACK

  • @dapop34 He was their live guitarist for a couple tours buuut he never really was officially in the band he was just the fill in until they got a new lead guitarist.
