St. Anger is not their best album by any means, but when you look at what the band was going through at that time, it was an album that had to be made. If it makes them better in the long run, then so be it. It led to Death Magnetic, which fucking rocks.

i think every album metallica has ever made is amazing and too be perfectly honest aside from the Master Of Puppets album this is my favorite metallica album. i like the fact that it was made during the period when they were all fighting with eachother SOOOOO MUCH ANGER AND LOUDNESS IN THE ALBUM... there might not be any solos but this is amazing... only downside to this album is the snare drum sound...other than that its epic
