  • a few of the same jokes as MTV half hour comedy hour

  • Comment removed

  • love his spiked hairdo

  • the hair! the hair!

  • awww, he got confused after his set, how cute

  • that handshake... lol

  • Luis is in the news for making $1,000,000 in like 4 days by selling directly to viewer through a simple website. I guess he forgot about buying all the pants in New York 16 years later.

  • @kronosaurelius You'd need a fuck of a ton more than $1,000,000 to buy all the pants in NewYork. Asshole!! Sorry, this was gonna be a joke and then it just turned into hate.

  • Haha i stole the 'dont pee on that' joke for my facebook status like a week ago

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA SO AWKWARD! @ 5:09

  • Letterman hired Louis Ck as a writer right after this. He was obviously very impressed as he should have been.

  • @thegov08 Well, according to IMDb he began writing for Letterman in September 1994, a half a year before this gig.

  • I really wish I could see Letterman's expression at 1:43.

  • Comment removed

  • Take this old version of Louis CK add some hate, anguish, and self loathing and BOOM!!!.... You'll have my favorite comedian ever! God bless the broken road that made this bastard that man he is today. Comedy= Pain+Time

  • I've been a fan since I saw this. suck on that, newcomer sycophants!

  • Has he ever spoke about this appearance?

  • 5:27 felt like the 80's

  • Further evidence that Dane Cook blows donkeys.

  • Poor Louis was all confused, lol. "Thank you everybody! Goodnight!" Then does that "Ahh, what? Go over where? There? Shit, I just said 'goodnight'." look.

Love the guy. He's the most prolific comedian in the industry right now, and he doesn't "borrow" anything like Leary and Cook did with Louis' material.

  • "You ever see someone you don't know...Again?"

    Brilliant!

  • I know Louis hates his old act because he did it for 15 years, but some of these jokes were fucking golden. The one about telling the same story twice is as funny as his modern material

  • I like Louie's little duck as he gets invited to panel unexpectedly. I don't know a lot about stand-up/late night, but from what I gather it's a big deal to get invited to speak with the Host, especially if it's your first time on the show.

    Can anyone confirm this?

  • I'm kinda shocked that it's been not even a year since I've discovered Louis C.K. for myself. At the time this was taped, I'm sure I was raving about Bill Hicks and how stand-up comedy had passed in the popular eye. Now, I'm not making a stylistic comparison between Bill and Louis; I'm simply surprised that personal and pertinent stand-up as an art form was (and is) alive and flourishing thanks to the talents of people like Louis C.K.

  • Dane Cook totally swiped 1:15

  • I loved how he had such a modern Louis ck moment when he just randomly talked about his underwear

  • i can somehow still listen to him and find him hilarious without him saying fuck. but i still love how he says fuck.

  • You can tell he hated his act back then. He just wanted to get it over with.

  • ohhhhhhh i just noticed that bill has $53.0 billion dollar now and he still pooor LLLoolooooo

  • @KAKA2222KAKA apparently he has $59 according to the latest Forbes news !!!

  • Dat hair

  • Bill Gates has 5 times as much money in 16 years.......

  • he was still really funny at that age

  • It's kinda cool seeing his old material, the fact that it;s so different from now. Even though it's not quite as good as now, it;s still funny and it's mor eimpressive he can be funny with different styles.

  • Wow, it's almost the same exact set that he used on Conan two years earlier. Was this kind of turnover of material this common in the biz?

  • Bad thing! lmao

  • LOL Bill Gates only had 8 billion dollars at this time. Now he almost has 10 times that.

  • remember windows 95?

  • Louis is still my favorite comedian.

  • lol bill gates has 50 billion dollars now lol

  • I'm wearing a bathing suite right now for that exact reason.

  • I don't get the joke about weddings in the year 2000.

  • @hitman036 It's a reference to Moviefone, an automated service you called to get movie showtimes

  • @hitman036 the years leading up to 95' is when the computer age just hit. The joke is that in 2000 the world would be completely computerized.

  • "Thank you very much, good night." and then he realizes he has to stay for the interview... He's so insecure it's painfull. He is so human, I can relate to him like wine is related to grapes.

  • this is the joke dane cook stole! haha

  • he reminded me of tim heidecker with the "guy who can't match his face to what he's saying" impression

  • Carlos Mencia stole this joke

  • Love this. It's the time in his career where Louis started to become what he is.

  • Jim Rome?

  • wow even back then Letterman wasn't funny

  • lmao year 2000 joke xD insulting the future which is our past xD genious!

  • ah, the days of struggling Bill Gates and his measly 8 billion dollars.

  • Aww god, they're both so young

  • I loved the episode of Louie CK on FX. when he talks to Dane Cook about everybody saying how Dane steals Louie's jokes. Killer!

  • I just looked up this video cause i was watching louie on Fx and he was telling his friend that he just landed a gig on letterman.

  • @canilive0102 Same here.

  • @canilive0102 haha me too!

  • @canilive0102 EXACTLY my reason.

  • @canilive0102 lol, he made himself look a lot younger in those scenes

  • @canilive0102 Yup

  • the one where he tells the story to the guy that it actually happened to...i did that once

  • fuck yeah. vcr's all day!!! lol

  • Awesome, this is 1995 but it seems pretty modern... he was ahead of his time and in some ways still is.

  • damn, he is really nervous, ive never seen him like that :s

  • Wow Dane stole that joke about the taxi hitting the guy almost word for word.

  • He is not meant for censored pg television. Put him on an HBO late night talk show. OWNAGE

  • "NO"! That reallly cracked me up, I think this was, is and always will be the fucking king.

  • His first time on Letterman was also the day of the Oklahoma City Bombing. He probably taped this 8 hours or so after the bombing.

  • He completely owned that stage, that crowd, and that whole damn show. Louis C.K. for life

  • HAIR!

  • Letterman looks like a younger Dane Cook here. Maybe that's what the top comments are about, I don't know. I'm too lazy to read down. But fuck.

  • @wtfbbqhacks no dane cook used almost word for word some of the material jouis used in this video on one of cooks albums.

  • @swantonkincaid Yea you're right, since I didn't actually listen to the stand-up portion of this. All of his old material is literally the same and I've seen it so eh. :P I like my observation more. luls.

  • should of fixed his tie

  • i hate audiences

  • back when bill gates was poor

  • Louis CK was a a com-pletely different type of comic back then, but he was still funny. Also, theat crowd seems exceptionally hot.

  • "You ever see someone you don't know, again?"

    LMAO..that's fantastic

  • Your tie's crooked.

  • wow Bill Gates has 10x as much money now lol

    talk about frugal

  • did he become more ginger with age?

  • @Meinfus

I actually agree with you... i did gain a lot more respect for him though, i didn't realize he's been doing standup for this long.

  • 3:06 I had a wedding like that eleven years ago.

  • I love Louis. Funniest Modern Comedian around, BUT- Why all the hate on Dane Cook in the Comments? What does this even have to do with Dane Cook?

  • @krisp8888 Dane cook tried puuling off the baby name joke as his own. People are seeing how long Louis has been using it, and realising dane really stole it.

  • @BruceNJeffAreMyFlies - That was actually originally Steve Martins joke. SO- As much as I love Louis, that would mean HE stole it. And then Dane took it for his own as well.

  • @krisp8888 It's kinda well known that Dane Cook steals his material from Louis C.K......sorta like Carlos Mencia steals his material from....well, everybody. ;D

  • @crocetti1984 it was two small jokes. yes, its bad. yes, dane cook isn't the best, but please don't be misleading and make it out to be a whole act.

  • @Heifsin85 I was actually being more unkind to Mencia. XD

  • @krisp8888 Apparently Dane Cook does one of these bits on one of his albums. I've never heard it myself.

  • @krisp8888 Dane cook steals from louis. And he's a cunt.

  • bad thing!

  • king of pants...worldwide pants...hmmm

  • Hearing Louis CK do his bits makes me hate Dane Cook so much more than I already do...

  • Poor Louis. I don't know why I feel sorry for him there, he was probably doing ok since he was on Letterman but I can just see him chubby and balding and a bit nervous and awkward and it's like 13 long years of all the shitty things he's talked about in his stand up before he becomes successful.

  • Truly funny

  • Those impressions are 100% Galifianakis.

  • @BCKBCK visa versa

  • ACDC is Meh.

  • @KMurderful ur existence is meh

  • This comment is for anyone who stumbled on this video and is hearing Louis say the joke about the guy getting hit by the car door and is thinking "hey, I think I've heard that joke before..."

That's because you probably saw Dane Cook performing that exact same bit verbatim in one of his comedy albums. The difference between the two comics is that Louis ck was doing that joke on letterman when dane cook was still in diapers.

  • @samisyosam yeah but I completely forgot Dane Cook's standup, as we all should.

  • no shit-ass pet fuckers.... :(

  • stop mentioning anyone else, just focus on louis

  • @mcastro1964 well said

  • Can someone tell me which joke Dane Cook stole?

  • @TheMrsGandy

    jesus christ....

  • @Gonko100 What? I'm a Louis CK fan. I haven't heard anything from Dane Cook. Excuse me for asking.

  • @TheMrsGandy is the one where he wanted to yell to warn a guy on a bike.

  • LOOK, I HAVE A PEACH! LOOK AT THIS FINE PEACH I HAVE! LOOK AT IT!!

  • Look at him around 2:20 he actually looks kind of annoyed that the crowd is applauding that much, "like serioulsy, it was that funny." Haha, love louie

  • Insert comment about Dane Cook

  • lol @ the awkwardness from 5:04 - 5:23

  • 2:50-3:00 was a LLOL moment for me. I literally laughed out loud.

  • Kinda looked like Marv in Home Alone back then.

  • wow bill gates only had 8 Billion dollars then

  • Louis was so nervous!

  • the more louis lost his hair the better his jokes became.

  • @emporio8404 guess it works the same way like larry david and other jews

  • @emporio8404 Reverse Samson?

  • fat faggot

  • Louis is great but this is fucking shit

  • haha he looks like a cop

  • oh, I forgot that everyone was really ugly in 1995.

  • Man Louis was still good but he's so much better now.

  • Dane Cook and Zach Galfiankis made a career out of his ideas.

  • which joke did dane cook steal freom this

  • @johnny4463435 The joke about the guy on the bike getting hit by the car door. Dane Cook stole the joke but changed it to a guy jogging across the street and getting hit by a car.

  • @TheFeral666 ok

  • luis ck simply never failed. i mean the peach joke is so fucking simple but is delivery confidence make it so great. look for the video were he start by saying to the all crowd

"i am happy to be here and also i fucked all your mother...wich if you think is a great coincidence"

  • @ErikCartman Even if one of his jokes starts to bomb, he MAKES it work. Very few people have balls like that :-)

  • @christiantjr amen

  • Letterman is shit.

  • @iiwatcher I am sure he is a lot more popular, funny, and wealthy than you. Fuckin faggot.

  • Not funny. Popular for the mindless sheeple. As for wealth that's your assumption. This is youtube. why you're obsessed with some stranger's economic status is beyond me. perhaps you're insecure? Finally, your rage is amusing, as is the irony of your final statement. To wit: You passionately defend Letterman tooth & nail as if I've insulted your lover, yet you call me gay. Interesting. I'd say that's classic projection. You're in love w/ him. Clearly, you're a celeb worshiping loser. Sad.

  • @iiwatcher Wow, I was just stating the obvious. I didn't even read your whole comment, so good job wasting your time. faggot

  • @MisterPeetBull Wow, you were just defending your idol & sex fantasy tooth & nail. Wow, you are lying about not reading my whole comment--so obvious. That's why you responded with such fag rage. You're not smart enough to lie convincingly so give it up. Now, stop projecting, come out of the closet & go see if Letterman will bite, fanboy nuthigger. ; )

  • @iiwatcher lol troll

  • @MisterPeetBull lol gay Letterman nuthugger.

  • @iiwatcher Holy shit. Please crash into an AIDS tree, you worthless cunt.

  • @CoolerKing37 HAHAHAA! I've never seen an AIDS tree, but then again I don't live in faggot land, where the AIDS trees grow. How about you go climb that tree you little AIDS monkey? XD

  • @iiwatcher obvious troll is obvious

  • @starchmonkey Miss me? ; )

  • @iiwatcher "It's like everything else on the internet, it's just people fighting, just people angry at each other." --Louis CK. tehe

  • Nobody here has ever been stealing a joke! What a joke..

  • The whole thing about what to say when someone is about to hit something.

  • Dane Cook...Joke stealing douche.

  • I like how Louis' jacket and tie are crooked throughout his set.

  • american audiences are so over the top

  • What joke did Dane crook steal?

  • @rsx123 BAD THING !

  • @rsx123 it was the 'gods running out of extras in your life.' its almost word for word

  • This Letterman guy is a spunkhead.

  • haha OMG he used this line in 2009 that's so awesome. how bill gates at 8 billian in 1995 and in 2009 he had i think he said 85billian. Times have changed so much.

  • galifinakis stole the impressions routine

  • hhahahahahahaha 95? damn. How can dane cook claim he didn't steal that joke?

  • Fuck Dane Cook.

  • lol @ "in the year 2000." THE FUTURE!

  • I once had someone tell me a story that I told them. If they were as funny as Louis, I wouldn't have hated them so much.

  • he looks so weird with hair

  • wow fuck dane cook!

  • @resenat12345 Why do people keep bringing up Dane Cook on comedy video's. Just shut the fuck up.

  • Louis CK sure had time do to a lot of things that day.

  • Dane Cook sucks a bag of dicks!

  • how can 7 people dislike this?? WTF

  • aww that was so cute...he was all nervous with the shaking hand..now look at him, he has his own tv show..SO HAPPY FOR THIS MAN

  • wow. same intro music that they gave to Sam Kinnison.

  • Seeing Louis in that suit reminds me of the suit he wore for his date in the first ep of his new FX show. He looks so awkward and uncomfortable. Thank god he decided to drop that look and just wear what pleased him. Probably helped out his acts a lot.

  • I love what his act has evolved into a thousand times more than this, but this is pretty fucking good too.

  • Classic Louie, love the propositioned super hero bit never gets old

  • Cook stole it almost line for line

  • Funny shit.

  • @sybo59

Yea he stole it all from Dane when Dane was just a worthless twat in high school. You're so right.
