We only hear pieces that the media wants us to hear. Myself have paid child support for 16 years. I was not given a say on 1 single penny of it. I had many financial struggles along the way. Faced jail time on 6 occasions because I was struggling to support "2 households" for my son. In essence I raised 2.2 kids when I only had one.
@easternabeille I am not sure if you ever found yourself in a situation where you paying support. It is not easy. Sure we have over a 50 divorce rate. It really would be much higher. The reasons are financial. Cheaper to keep her. While I was out working 2 jobs and doing side work. My son's mom was out partying on the weekend. Doing drugs, boozing, etc...I had my son every weekend. And would see him throughout the week time permitting.

@cpfirman1 I can follow that logic, but, if you are funding literally thousands and thousands of programs, every program can sacrifice, they have no choice. They can easily get that money back with a strong economy that produces more revenue. Although I am no huge fan of President Bush, he had a strong economy until the bottom fell out, his spending went up because of tax dollars taken in. These programs need to learn to budget as well...not every year the economy is gonna be great

@easternabeille Lets bring things in so you better understand my point. After almost all was said and done. I owed a little in arrears of which I have paid in full. Assuming I didn't. It was only approx 1.5% of the total amt that was owed. They would put me in jail. So I spend 1.5% less than what the average in tact family would have spend based on the same income. I would go to jail. Now if another family would spend 1.5% less than another family. Do they go to jail?

They can easily get that money back with a strong economy that produces more revenue. Although I am no huge fan of President Bush, he had a strong economy until the bottom fell out, his spending went up because of tax dollars taken in. These programs need to learn to budget as well...not every year the economy is gonna be great
