I too, like 1carolineasunshine, played this song over and over when I was a young teen and have searched for it now for over 40 years. Just recently found it here. It brings back so many memories.
Wow, I used the hear this song in 1968-1969 on a juke box in the local pool room and also have been searching for it since then, I had forgotten the band but remembered it was a flip side of a 45, the song also stuck in my head all these years. This song should have been released as an A side it was played a lot in the pool room .And... I'm a bass player also and loved the bass on this tune.
We started getting air play on this song in Bakersfield Ca. although Little Bit o Soul was also being played. Every show we did we were asked to play I See The Light. Our managers contemplated re releasing it as our follow up song instead of Sunshine Games. We had this song long before we met our manager's and we did a youthfully stupid thing like signing them the rights. At 19 years old we had no concept of what business was like let alone the Music Business.
Gotta be kidding me ! Tight walkin da bass like this man, L. Look, this is pre digital mastery ! You can hear the difference clearly i think. I love this tune ! Just love it ! Thank You ! May God Bless all of you ! Stan., oh, you oughtta hear this shit on a 50 k sound system, L. you tell me ? your bones rattle ! L. good shit !
my wife turned me on to this great song when we were first dating in 1968...we used to play it on the jukebox in the student lounge at the U.W. extension in Kenosha ,WI...thanx for posting it

Love this song, never heard it, but growing up in PHX with KOOL FM which was the FIRST oldies format in the nation, I think, I loved "Little Bit of Soul"---when I found "Sunshine Games" on the net about eight years ago, loved that just as much...now I love THIS one too. That golden era of music....it's sorely missed.
This is fantastic. I had forgotten how much I love this song. I believe it was the B side to "A little bit o soul" another one of my favorites. Thanks for posting.
there was times when i trusted in everything u said & did girl & there was times when i would think about u even having my kid girl but now the seasons have past me by leaving me sorrow thru the endless nite now i i c the lite i c the lite hey babe alibis & lies was just a part of your evil game girl & me like a fool couldnt resist ive just about a worshipped ur name girl i gave u the finest things that money can buy but you were just taking me for a ride i c the lite pick it to um
1954jer. LyricsThere were times when I trusted in everything you said and did girl, There were times when I thought 'bout you having my kid girl, but now the seans are passing me by, leaving me sorrow through the endless night now I, I see the light.
Alibis and lies were just a part of your evil game girl, and me who couldn't exsist just about worshipped your name girl, but now the seasons are passing me by and you were just taking me for a ride (refrain).
1carolinasunshine....Yes we have quite a few. There is of course Little Bit O soul,Everybody, Love Love Love, Can't stop now, patches dawn, What did I do to deserve such a fatelittle black egg, stay by my side, sunshine games, we gotta go home now, what you want, where are we going, and gonna have a good time tonight. The last one is under the Jamie Lyons Group. It is us but our managers at the time were testing the water for Jamies solo career. Hope you enjoy
I am the bass player for the Music Explosion. This was a fun song to record. I believe there were 5 overdubs and two of them were with Tudor's (our lead guitarists) Ric 12 string. Thanks for all the nice comments.
in 1967 i bought a hit 45 played it & we always turned them over to see if the other side was any good. i can remember the tune & the name, cant remember the "a" side. the "b" side was a slow tune named, "sweet meat slide". we ended up playing it more than the hit. i never heard it again & cant remember the hit side.
i was in a record store in richmond va in the late 80's. the owner played oldies. he was playing the long version of inna godda da vidda. the record had reached the organ solo when 3 young people walked in. they paused, looked at one of the speakers then 1 of them said, "what's goin on, a funeral, i never heard such music". what they shopped for was of course their garbage that i never even heard of. they called it music & the stuff we listened too trash.
I'm pretty sure I have the lp with LittleBit of Soul and "I see the Light". I aam sure I have a 45 called "Sunshine Games" which I liked a lot at the time as it sounded very "Stones -like" to me, and they were my favorite band.
I am another one who has been looking for this for years! I remember I was about 14 and babysitting for some kids who had the 45 and we played this side over and over! Thank You!!
Well, I did a little research, & the reason this sounds different to me, is that I use headphones at the computer. This record was engineered to be listened to on a console stereo, which is what most people had at the time. I LOVE THIS SONG! In my neighborhood, we played this side, not the A-side, Little Bit Of Soul. Thanks again for posting.
Yeah, it's the difference between the mono single mix and the quickly done stereo lp mix. The single rocks and has an impact that the stereo completely lacks. MONO ALL THE WAY FOR THESE TUNES FROM THE 60's.
I'm italian Music Explosion and garage band admirer. I am quite poor in english language but I would I See The Light lyrics. You can write the lyric's song for me?
This is one of those tunes that sounds better in mono. I sure do appreciate this upload, though. This doesn't sound exactly like the version I have (which is absolutely original.) Any info?
Love this song! I was 13, it was the summer of love.....
