It took me seeing this movie three times before I started to like it. It's one of those movies that grows on you. Another thing about this is they preview it as a comedy, which it's more in the drama department. And the whole family being best friends and doing every single thing together-dancing, exercising, talent show, bowling. It's unrealistic. No family is that happy crappy to be together. I will say it's nice to see Dane Cook in a movie where he doesn't curse every five seconds.

I went to see this in the theatre 12 1/2 times when it came out. I'm a movie junkie & all, but that number is a bit high. I always use the theatre as an escape from the so-called "Real World." I ditched a majority of my freshman year at community college & some of the time was spent in the back rows of the AMC theatre in downtown Chicago. Romance/summer/teen movies is usually what gives me the ultimate escape because of nostalgia for my childhood.

I definitely don't like how the trailer makes this movie looks, because it's one of my favorite movies. Also, I'd like to note how good of an actor Steve Carell is. I hadn't seen the Office before this, but if I had, it would have blown my mind not to see him as the pathetic and obnoxious character that he is in the Office. He does both parts so well.
