My friend and his gf just got new phones and for some reason had to add a line and they are giving me this with the new line since i am in need of a phone. As long as I can call, text, facebook, and youtube i am set. Though I am in no position to be picky. Never had a touchscreen or a keyboard phone. been living in the cellular past.

@Downer05 It does all of those things but you should find out what they have on the plan. If you are on YouTube or Facebook, you are sending and receiving data and that could add up pretty quick at $1.99/MB. You should get set up with a data plan if you are going to use those online features.

@80TRIUMPH08 Well first, you can track your usage by dialing #DATA with your phone. You have 25MG/Mo to use on that plan. It's not charged by time you are online, it's charged by how much information gets sent/received. Everytime you ask for info (just open a web page is an amount of information received. Filling in text boxes, or signing into websites is data sent. I have a chart on my blog with some examples of usage. I will direct message you the link.

That's not necessarily a good rule of thumb! viewing 100 web pages is about 3MB. A downloaded program or game could be anywhere from .2 to 2MB, ringtones are about .2 each so it all depends on what you are doing.

i have a couple questions, i'm an avid phone user, and on the verizon site, particularly myverizon, spam control features provide blocking 5 cell phone numbers from texts and calls. Can this phone block numbers as a feature?, and possibly restricted calls?

It blocks calls, I don't believe it'll block restricted #'s which is probably a good idea. If a dr's office calls and there are many companies that block, you won't get the call or voicemail and it could be for you.

Can you change the settings to make it where the phone doesn't beep every time you touch it?. I was researching the phone and a few people say it still beeps even when on silent and vibrate. Also they said it still beeps when dying, even on silent and vibrate.

I am having problems making videos right now, all you do is go to the picture you want to use , click on menu and set as>wallpaper. Or you can go through Settings and Tools>Display Settings>Wallpaper

256 MB RAM/ 768MB flash and microSD support up to 16 GB. Yes. it can do all that. You don't have to buy apps but you can.

The backlight is the light coming throught the back of the screen and keys, It already is white. I'm thinking you mean the black background that is present behind all the menus? That would be a theme issue and this phone doesn't give you the ability to changes there's only wallpaper changes and that only affects the homescreen.

- I believe I heard someone say once about the EnV 2 that if you start texting, the phone will automatically go to a new text message? Is that true for this phone, or do you have to click a series of buttons to open a text?

This isn't the deal breaker for me, I was just wondering if this feature truly exists and if it's on the Samsung Rogue.

This particular phone is considered to be an Enhanced Multimedia Phone (basically means its not quite a smartphone) but you do have to have a data plan to activate it unless you are already on a voice plan with data (like the Premium or Connect plan. Otherwise for 25MB/mo its $9.99 or 75MB/mo its $19.99. Fotunately they restructured it so you don't have to get the smartphone data plan.

well first i tried ordering the phone online, but it wouldnt let me order it without the data plan, so than i called verizon and i spoke to representative, i told him that i wanna buy the phone but i didnt want the data plan and he said ok than he got my information and ordered me the phone.

No. This is not a "smart" phone, so internet is not forced upon you. If you so chose to buy this phone, internet is optional for 9.99 a month for 25 mb.
