I can't comment on mopping the kitchen. But for my needs I use the Libman Nitty Gritty Rollermop with the abrasion resistant sponge mophead. I mop the basement.
Here's to Libman for not following the 'disposable printer cartridge" mentality of other companies and selling a *mop* instead of a vehicle to sell the pads and bottles of crappy detergent that leaves your floor sticky after you're done anyway.
