@BuruBuruPuppy hahah you filthy cunt, Bruno Mars is a mainstream prick who's contribution to music will be remembered for let's say 2-3 years longers at max. Robert Plant is one of Britain's greatest vocalists, musicians and musical influences, I find it unbelievable that you could even say something like that. Plant is fucking awesome, fuck Bruno Mars and fuck you, you dirty faggot.
I like Mr. Plant and his music. It is a bummer to hear his vocals are the only "live" thing about this performance. Fate of Nations, is a kickass record!
Not a huge fan of prancin' Plant, but Fate of Nations was a cd of well written songs that were equally well played. So the result is the songs were quite playable live. Gotta hand it to the old man on FON. The album is fairly dark though, kinda creepy and mystical, you know, typical prancin' Plant material. : )
I was front row right in front of my idol Robert Plant. Lucky to have seen Zepplin 3 times, After seeing my Tall cool Sex God sing this in 1994 at the Sunrise Musical theatre in Fl. I decided that I would make that my last live concert. Go out on top! Thanks dear Robert, shit I grew up and old with you. Sing on my silver rider!
RUMOUR HAS IT THAT THIS SONG WAS BASED ON MR.PLANT'S BRIEF RELATIONSHIP WITH ALANA MYLES,BASED ON THE WORDS FROM THE SONG IT COULD BE TRUE.TALK OMONG YOURSELFS
it IS indeed one of roberts best moments , but many Zeppelin songs are much greater!
Achilles Last Stand, Thats The Way, Going To California, Trampled Under Foot, Ten Years Gone, The Song Remains The Same and a few others 'far' eclipse it.
I can't imagine how much crazy pussy this man is STILL getting. This man weakens knees that only boniva can heal. Female Extenze is actually his saliva. Playtex consulted him on how to get in as many vaginas as possible.
Check out Rio 1994 Robert plant! The whole fate of nation concert. Michael lee on drums and Charlie Jones on bass here played during the page plant reunion. Charlie jones was with plant since now and zen1988 through strange sensation 2006. Michael lee his drummer died a couple years ago. One of the best drummers out there.
this man is gorgeous and his band ,he has got balls(gutts) to try something new all the time !!! music is like cooking as far as i,am concernt, you don,t wanna eat burrito,s all the time or italian food ,
@xibudliteix -- I don't understand all the stuff behind these lyrics, but this is supposedly a tribute of some sort to his dead son, Karac. I don't know Karac's connection with 29 Palms though, or what some of these lyrics could have to do with Karac. Hmmm. Awesome tune though!
@notherbuschlight -- Yes, I know that one is about Karac. 29 Palms supposedly is too -- I think I read this in an interview from a few years ago, but I'll try to verify.
This song is not about Karac Plant. "All of My Love" from Led Zeppelin's In Through the Outdoor and "I believe" from Fate of Nations, the same album this song came off of, was about Karac. This song is allegedly about Alannah Myles, a Canadian singer Robert had been touring with and with whom Robert was allegedly romantically involved. Listen to the lyrics..."...when I hear your voice on the radio..." That song'd make no sense if Robert was singing about Karac, who died in 1977.
@mapscannotcontainme -- Yeah, I know all the stuff you've said here, I'm a HUGE Zep and Robert fan. I did completely mix up the tunes "I Believe" and "29 Palms" though. Duh, I even said in one of my previous comments that I didn't understand why 29 Palms would be about Karac -- I guess I had a rather serious momentary lapse of reason, or memory, or something!! Makes much more sense now, thanks. :-)
My freaking god, Robert looks so DAMN HOT at this time in his life!!!! Okay, all the time, but geez, especially in 1993. Also, that's Francis Dunnery. He was such a cool guitarist, did some great stuff live with Robert on this tour!! Gotta look him up and see what he's doing now.
sympa...I Adore him...This guy is enthousiastic all the way..This song is very nice...I fell onto another Artist, MO'SEAN with "I want to ", a soft, moving but fresh smily voice..A L.P. is on the ROAD...How I just can't wait anymore !!!...Thanks YOUTUBE 4 those nuggets..And what colors !!....I just want to dedicate my thoughts to my SoulMate , a pure Soul I LOVE LOVE LOVE...
@xibudliteix I think that in the 60s when he first (and possible last) time he saw it, it was wonderful. LZ liked LA too, but I doubt they would today.
@Kabulkid : Tom, you're a total fucking idiot if you didn't get my comment. Yea, "lady gaga".....do you think ANYone who listen to Lady Gaga even knows who Robert Plant is? Im not gonna even explain my comment to a worthless piece of shit like yourself, it'd be a waste of time & energy
@hazor777 -- Actually, I have been a DIE-HARD Led Zep and Robert Plant fan since childhood. But I also LOVE Lady Gaga. Saw Robert's show in Austin in July & saw Lady Gaga in Denver two nights later!! Liking Gaga, I must say, is unusual for me, since I really don't like much of any Top 40 type stuff and never have. Robert and Gaga don't compare as artists though, as in "comparing apples to oranges". No point in comparing them, just totally different. I love them both, for very different reasons.
@hazor777 -- Yep, I'm definitely over 30. And I'll buy that -- I'm probably the exception and not the rule. It's funny, because Lady Gaga really would not normally be my style at all, but there's just something about her music that I really like. It took me a while though. I didn't start really liking her until a while after Poker Face was released. The Band of Joy show in Austin was fantastic. Also just got a bootleg copy of the O2 reunion show from a friend, love it of course!! See ya!
Why is everybody waiting for a reunion of Led Zeppelin? get over it, it's a brilliant past, but we're in 2010. Plant has made wonderful music by himself. All those who expect a reunion, in a way, ae saying that his career is just with LZ. You should appreciate more his solo career. And that of the other members too.
@Prilumi Yup i agree and if they did try it again they would probably disapoint evryone especially themselves that music is from a by gone era (my youth!) and you can capture lighting in a bottle twice exactly the same thank god for you tube to enjoy all thses oldies and let it go and grow on
@Prilumi Well, they sort of did in 1994. Go and find the DVD Unledded, which supported the cd album. I think that it is one of the best music DVDs every produced and the cd was a landmark. The tour was a great success, etc. I think what he is doing now with Allison Krause is appropriate. Besides, the guy isn't dead yet. I expect Page will emerge one more time too.
Plant and Jones are down for a reunion...and in Jimmy himself said the band's in Plants hands....All Plant need to do is put down his hat and play with Led once again so they can make the biggest World tour ever!
Pay attention: Not going to happen. So get over it.
Robert has too much class to go chasing 30-40 year old ghosts. He can accept it and I'm sure it meant more to him than you and I, so its time everybody else accept it.
MUCH BIGGER THAN A TOUR That new material that page/jonsey & jason worked on will eventually peak roberts curiosity, THEN WE MAY GET SOME NEW MUSIC , this is BIGGER than a world tour people & MORE LIKLEY
Incorrect, expert. Blonde guy is the late Kevin Scott MacMichael, formerly of Cutting Crew. Guy with long brown hair is Francis Dunnery. Get it right!
You're absolutely right. The video was one of my favo(u)rites growing up. Powerful, like the song itself. (And live versions are seldom vocally perfect, though this one's one of the better ones.)
What's truly amazing is that Plant is still making great, innovative music today. Only other rocker left from 60s that is as creative is Dylan. The Stones made great, great music but have turned into fossils.
@PikPobedy Oh, come on.... "Wreckless Love" "Slow Dancer" and some others... give them a listen. But I really love 29 Palms. That album was my soundtract in the early 90s when it came out. It got bumped by Unledded.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
shockingly poor. everything plant has done since led zep has been very mediocre. kinda like the crap mcartney started churning out after he left the beatles. this is what seems to happen when you get super famous. seems like the record companies will let you release any old rubbish, just because of your name. you guys should watch the concert led zeppelin did at madison square garden. now thats plant at his finest.

What's truly amazing is that Plant is still making great, innovative music today. Only other rocker left from 60s that is as creative is Dylan. The Stones made great, great music but have turned into fossils.

This and Ship of Fools are Robert`s best efforts after LZ.

there's plenty of great ones-freedom fries, helen of troy, tie dye on the highway, burning down one side to name a few....

@PikPobedy Oh, come on.... "Wreckless Love" "Slow Dancer" and some others... give them a listen. But I really love 29 Palms. That album was my soundtract in the early 90s when it came out. It got bumped by Unledded.

shockingly poor. everything plant has done since led zep has been very mediocre. kinda like the crap mcartney started churning out after he left the beatles. this is what seems to happen when you get super famous. seems like the record companies will let you release any old rubbish, just because of your name. you guys should watch the concert led zeppelin did at madison square garden. now thats plant at his finest.
