  • @softgeema07

What an awesome idea, thank you for that!

  • This is almost exactly my father's recipe. I like the noodle type dumplings so much better than the biscuit type. I'm going to have to go buy a chicken now. :)

  • @allidock11

I am right there with you.

I don't really like the dropping of spoonfuls of goo into the broth.

    Thanks for watching!

  • very well done sweet voice and nice cooking I will try!

  • @TheMenestokes

    Thank you :)

  • I belive those are tasty but I am used to making them with just dry ingredients, with chives, garlic or ginger and different things added. It's our family thing to make them like that - fried sour kraut - chops - dumplings on top. Whats the difference between these lard dumplings and the ones I'm used to eating?

  • Dude those look fantastic! My grandmother used to do a similar version of chicken n dumplings....and it never missed!

  • @TheDreamMechanic

This was my Grandmother's recipe, she is gone now :(

  • Wow that looks good.

    Thank you!

  • Wow ! This is a great recipe and the real deal ! Magnificent ! Thanks for sharing this with us !

  • finally someone who makes homemade dumplings instead of that store bought stuff!

  • save those veggies and some stock, you can even add a little shredded chicken and have a lovely chicken soup. The dumplings can have some fresh dill added, with a titch of salt and pepper for flavor and color. just a suggestion

  • @vampiregothchickpoet

    Great suggestions, thank you!

  • Chicken fat in the dumplings . . . inspired!

  • @CrystalBlueProject

I like to save chicken fat and fry up some potatoes in it as well :)

    Thanks!

  • This dude is a pro...

  • @Orion6699 LOL

  • hey, don't throw the carrots away those are good for you.

  • @AlcoholLevel

  • i like ur grandma recipe its just like my grandmas ur recipe is perfect n sweetie a can of biscuits is ok i guess i never tried them cause to me nothing compares to cooking from scratch u know what u putting in it n the taste cant be beat

  • @DIRTYCHATWIGS2

    Thanks!

I have never tried the biscuits thing either and probably never will.

  • Why go thru all the trouble?I just buy a can of refigerated biscuits and cut them up and drop them into the boiling water( of what I boiled my chicken in ).The dumplings are very good.

  • This is my grandma's recipe... I wanted to share.

  • Tonight I got to SEE 3 of Your Videos. Now I cant wait to make and try them. Thanks Michael!!!

  • Thank YOU Clyde :)

  • hmm thats a new way to make dumplings. When my grandma makes them theyre usually roundish n served with curry chicken or in the morning with ackee and saltfish or even fried.. the Jamaican way I guess lol. Ive had no luck replicating her style :(, maybe ill try this way.

Anyways great video! Always love the music.

  • If you still have your grandma... please ask her!

  • o man o man that looks so so so so goood one of the best chicken and dumplings ive ever seen mmm mmm good 5/5

  • LOL you can lay it on thick, you make me *smile*

  • Thank your lucky stars I'm not a stalker... LOL! My grandma used the rolling pin as an instrument of discipline... I like your grandma's way better. Thanks for video, I've always wanted to make these. Woody

  • I am thanking the stars right now!

  • Wow, thank you!

  • THAT WAS AWSOME :D

  • Thanks .... I am trying to start to think about Halloween dishes!

  • can you be my daddy? :]

  • You didn't know that I am?

  • Looks very good and great presentation. As a kid, I don't remember anything ever being served by anyone with a garnish such as parsley.

  • That was probably the last home grown tomato that I will have this year.

    Thank you so much Marc!

I have been wanting to make this for a while, it takes me back to my childhood, the good memories :)

  • I also want to thank you for being so loyal.

I have a couple nice recipes coming up.

The next one can be watched and tweaked to look way better, it was my 2nd time making it.

  • that looks so good u how much a month do u charge for personal chef!

  • For you a discount!

    $10,000 per month LOL

  • Fantastic recipe. Way different from how I do it, I normally use baking powder in mine and drop by the teaspoon into the hot broth. This recipe looks much better because of the uniform thickness, so the cooking will be more even throughout each dumpling.

Can a double batch be made, and perhaps part of the batch be frozen uncooked I wonder?

  • Yes, you can freeze them on a sheet tray then bag them!

  • hey freita, wow this looks so delicious, my mouth waters just watching it!

  • Gosh, thanks!

  • If you are lazy, like I sometimes am, you can just take a can of biscuits, roll them out in some flour, and cut them to size for your dumplings. Tastes the same to me. lol

Although, I do make my own dumplings from scratch sometimes too.

Another fun video, man. Keep them coming. :)

  • I have never tried the biscuit method, maybe I will some time.

    Thanks!

  • i love this recipe. it's just about the only thing i order at cracker barrel

  • I have been to cracker barrel one time!

  • Excellent! Those dumplings look soooo good.

  • They are soft and tasty, thank you sir!

  • awesome recipie

  • thank you Kent!

  • MMMM! i had my mouth open the whole time. i've always wanted to try this!

  • I don't know if you have Cracker Barrel restaurants up there, but they serve home style food and have a decent version of this, or make your own!

  • that is so good and different but what this dumplings taste like ??? and thx so much for the mash recipe and can i put some garlic to it or it will taste different ??

  • I do not know how to answer what they taste like.

    They are soft.

Yes garlic goes great in mash... I prefer garlic that has been baked to very soft, and then add it to your mash.

  • Awesome Video! I'm always a fan of home made noodles/pasta!

    Thanks for this great reciepe!

  • my goodness, you are welcome!

  • To be served with the house wine of the South - ice tea? ;-)

  • definitely iced tea!

  • this is so ironic i made the same exact thing yesterday and also made a video of it. I will have to try your recipe :) I will be uploading mine soon.

  • OMG, I cant wait to see yours!

  • freita SEX!

  • Your recipes are absolutely AMAZAING. This one has got to be one of my favorite you have made, i LOVE it:). And what do you think about saving the veggies, and maybe making some kind of like stew with them , or a side dish. :o
