bro sick cover man... and are you running that thru ur bugera? if you are what are the settings? cause i got the same amp and i cant get a tone anywhere near as sick as that...
@MudstoneNJ Hey man, the tone you hear here is through a microphone and lots of other shit. To get the best tone out of your Bugera 6262 you've gotta get a decent cabinet and probably an overdrive pedal. I made this video a while ago and I can't remember the original settings, but here's what it was (probably).
Treble: 7.5
Mids: 4.8
Bass: 8
Gain: 10
Remember to crank that volume knob up. Tube saturation is your friend. As the volume increases, your amp will sound better.
This is a good cover but idk if anybody noticed that its sped up. idk if you did it cuz of copyrights or whatever but there were some mistakes in this and i think its cuz of the speed you played it at.
@PhaN70iVi I tend to record songs at their live speed, which is why if there are a few errors, it's because I can't play as fast as them and clean at the same time. But there's only one part where I messed up I think, and it's when I played the B chord like around at 1:16. The chord's extended notes were mixed up.
Yeah man, I'm kinda regretting selling the Dean ML in this video. I really do miss it. I'll end up buying a USA ML one day, I really really miss mine.
Different how? But a Dean ML can play metal with the right pickups.
The pickups are amazing. I have them on 4 of the 5 guitars I own. They do metal very well. With hard rock, you have to dial in your amplifier differently in order to get the tone you're looking for. Blackouts are high gain, high treble, boosted mids and lows pickups. They're mainly designed for metal.
These aren't the stock pickups that come with the Dean Black Gold ML. The Black Gold ML you see here was modified quite a lot. A Floyd Rose tremolo was installed, it originally comes with a Tune-O-Matic bridge, had to route the guitar for the bridge. Also, Seymour Duncan Blackouts were installed as well. The stock pickups are trash, and don't sound good at all. Blackouts are amazing pickups for metal.
oh and how long do i need to practise before i can start playing trivium songs like that xD?? i've been playing for about a year and a half, can do the rhythm easy, but the solos, not even gna attempt it.. any tips on how i can speed up my left hand but also improve on accuracy?
Playing Trivium songs correctly and up to speed requires a lot of practice.
I increased my right hand accuracy and left hand speed the way everyone else does. I play certain licks that I find difficult slowly. The breakdown riff before the solo is a great way of improving alternate picking. Like Light To Flies helps down picking, Suffocating Sight will increase your triplet speed, etc.
Find a song you think is difficult, and just play it slowly. That's about all I can help you with.
Mrsparkles is a good friend of mine in real life. He knows I'm a huge Trivium fan and he says that just to mess with me, Don't take anything he says to heart =P
Hey, sorry I never replied to this! But I use a Logitech Orbit AF webcam. It's pretty damn good, and coupled with Sony Vegas Platinum 9, you can get this exact same video quality.
Well, most tabs out there use the tabs that Guitar World made. Unfortunately, those tabs are fairly wrong in some sections. Search "entrance of the conflagration lesson" on youtube, you'll find Matt and Corey going over every riff. See if you can figure out where their hands are and such. I didn't use any tabs for this song, so I can't really direct you to a good tab.
I think maybe what he means is, the shear amount of metal that radiates from your channel is more than the poor common soul can handle. Without natural 'hardcore' that some only acquire through genetics and rigorous listening, their ears bleed, necks snap, and appendages simply fall off. Maybe you should put up a disclaimer letting the non-metal folk know how you roll or something b4 you let the first riff fly and suck them into their own doom....just a thought tho
Oh GET your hand off it! You are partly right. I meant in general. I love watching gear demos, BUT too many are OVER represented BY metal players. Esp all this modern metal, a lot of it is not listenable. Without actual singing its just NOISE! No matter HOW technically good all the musos can play.
I mean i want to see DIFFERENT styles represented on these amps etc, so we can see/hear HOW they respond to DIFFERENT styles of playing & the sounds produced.

Also, the guitars I own have active pickups in them. So sure, I can play AC/DC or some GnR, but it'd sound terrible! I'm mainly a metal player, which is why I have high output pickups.
And as far as my amp goes, it's very versatile. But again, I mainly play metal. If I want to play some Ozzy, I'd switch to the crunch channel. Or if I'm feeling bluesy, I use the clean channel. Unfortunately, I don't have any videos of those channels because there are many out there already.
He can, doesn't mean it sounds good. I can play Hells Bells all day through my Dean guitars, but it'll sound dreadful because there's too much gain running through my pickups.
I've seen a few vids of yours and though you're a good player the sound you are getting out of 6262 is waaaaay to fizzy. I guess you are dialing too much gain. It sounds so compressed, small and solid state, just like a hive of bees... And I know that 6262 is a great sounding amp. Compare your sound, lets say with sound dingle1 is getting out of this amp and you'll know what I am talking about.
Well, dingle1 records with his digital camera. The audio you hear here is from a Shure SM57 microphone ran through a rather cheap audio interface. It's obviously not going to sound great, because I haven't invested too much into it.
I LOVE IT! RBV for Corey & ML for Heafy! Too sick!
Your picking is flawless...this must've taken AGES to get right! Also the amp sounds killer, I ordered my Bugera 6262-212 on thursday so it should arrive on monday or something =D
Congrats man! And really, this song took around 5 hours of recording to do. I just kept spacing it out because I never had more than an hour a day to play guitar. So I mostly spent it playing and not recording.
Yeah, I really really really don't want to.. I got that Dean ML the day Shogun came out. But I'm getting a USA made guitar out of the deal. So I think it's worth it.

In due time, I probably will. To The Rats is on the to-do list, but not as high as a few other Trivium songs.
I'm currently working on a few Metallica covers, to broaden my list of viewers. Currently, all I have are BFMV and Trivium subscribers.
