In that same interview with Jack Douglas he stated John said some disturbing things the night he died that possessed him to erase the hidden mic tapes it because it was too hurtful. I wonder what was said! Premonition of death, divorce from Yoko? I guess we'll never know!

Ironic by this time he was 135 lbs and looked great but his reason for destroying this was he felt he was too thin and did not like it..

Great stuff Neil!!! My dream is to see this vid. Unfortunately, after 30 years not surfacing it confirms John's comments that he did in fact destroyed it. Yoko's stuff does exist so hopefully we will see something yet!

"Why dont we do it in road" ..and the way John's sings parts of 'Starting Over' in his Elvis style. Yoko hated Elvis and John's "Juvenal" love of 50's rock n roll. That was a thing he had with Paul. Living is easy with eye's closed; misunderstanding all you see.

I hope someday Paul comes out with it.

We do know how unhappy he was in the late 70's and the year he died. He had plans of escaping Yoko. I hate how she hides the truth and puts out the fairytale myth of how happy they were. NOT

Sorry, lastly, I do voices, to get the voices right I have had to get to know the person so closely. So I can waffle on and on in the person's voice. Any questions anyone has on Lennon, I will give you as near as answers.

There are no other versions of it. The tape was a messy event, the quality shit and not arranged in any fashion. It was a brand new album and it was thought of as a great idea to "FILM IT!" HE quickly learning that taking Visual pointy devices into the studio ruined magic as it makes for over-crowding and getting hot and bothered.

Their is an interesting history to this audio. This was during filming for the Double Fantasy sessions. The only film shot during two days in 8/1980. John hated the footage and destroyed it according to Jack Douglas. So it's never been seen. So tragic since it would have been the last film of John performing

Except that there is footage of Yoko from that recording session. Check out the YT video Yoko Ono Then & Now Part 1 (4:40). My guess is that at least some if not all of the John footage still exists, and that Yoko is keeping it private because John was not comfortable with it. I'd love to get a look at it.

I saw the yoko footage yes. Going by what Jack Douglas says and the fact that we have not seen even 2 seconds of John footage in the 28 years since his death would lead me to believe it's gone.

@helterskelter1 I agree with you. I think that Tubular is wishing for a miracle. There's no reason for Ono to have not released that by now. No one's going to care how Lennon behaved or whatever in it. It's 30 years since his death.
