I have a tremendous respect for REAL anarchists, but those people who riot are just stupid. It does nothing to help us, only to hinder us. Thats why in NYC at Occupy Wall Street, the police kept using violence because THEY WANTED US TO RESPOND VIOLENTLY. That way the media could be like "look at all those crazy radicals using violence!"
Property destruction isn't inherently wrong, but it is bad tactics if you're trying to truly build a mass movement for liberty, equality, and sustainability.
@adamla11 Mass movements don't happen. Mobilizing 300 million people to revolt, when they've been stupefied and pacified by political socialization, isn't going to happen. They'll be converted after the revolution.
You idiot's are so funny you have no idea what anarchy is. If it were really how we lived as a society you would all more than likely be enslaved, raped, or murdered. Probably all of the above. There is only 1 rule to anarchy be able to defend whats yours. It is fun to "imagine" what no law would mean, But trust me the race of man would eat it's self......
There is nothing democratic about Anarchy or redistribution of wealth and power. That is socialism/communism - i.e. corrupt leadership. The bottom has no power because the bottom does not take power. If people weren't too busy finding the latest app for their I(idiot)Phone perhaps they would see that things have gone to pot while they were taking a gluttony fueled nap. The Establishment will not give us anything they do not have to, and with people sleeping what they have to give is very little.
@GorillaGrim Anarchism is the only democracy, representative democracy is oligarchy. You misunderstand "redistribution of wealth", it's meant as "I provide you with something, knowing that you'll provide me with something". You're free to choose who you'll give what you've prdouced, but remember that they are too.
As for the thing about the people not having anything to give, this is simply false. They currently don't have anything to give, because what they produce is taken away from them. con
@GorillaGrim continued - Socialism is only a part of marxist socialism, and marxist socialism cannot be used to describe socialism. Socialism is simply workers controlling their workplace, instead of a boss deciding everything.
Life is a gift no government or any body in higher power can take that away,
we are all to be questioned about the way we treat each other, The SECOND WE STOP CARING FOR ONE anther is WHEN we STOP Being Human. Power to the people Ahem!!!!!!!
i have a question.. i know its youtube dude, but everyone remembers the wto protests? wasnt it a army funded group that started the riots? not saying anarchists are bad damn i'm fucking one but the question still remains, are you gunna just sit back and watch your government fund groups to cause mass histaria? or are you gunna take a stand and fight for what every human has faught for for years? yea more than one question.. have a nice day :D
Makes "sence" ??? You mean makes sense ! If you are going to try to make a point publicly, and politically, you should at the very least use proper spelling, and grammar. You are make intelligent people that are truly fighting against government look like ignorant assholes. I do however appreciate you posting this song, because I love it.
@Psych0nautilus Did I ? I definitely didn't spell a really simple English word wrong. You're obviously a child, and you've effectively missed my point. I have better things to do than waste time with vapid, callow little kids. Good day :)
@missclarencewhirly79 Yeah, fuck you for assuming age is everything when it comes to being informed or uninformed. Look at all the americans voting for the republicans(or the democrats for that matter). Children are the ones who are more open-minded, not less.
@Worfelzarz Okay :) If you read the comments, you will see that I was only referring to one person. If you choose to take that personally than that is on you. I never implied age has anything to do with being informed or uninformed actually, only that his/her response to me was childish. I agree with you 100%.
Anarchy in the way these people want it would only exist for like a very short period of time. Then the true animals would take over. Anarchy just creates the ideal habitat for a tyrant to take control.
The only way to make an anarchist society a reality is to convince a majority of people that it's 1) possible and 2) worth it. Spain in '36 was mostly a result of 60 years of the spread of anarchist ideas. Let's get to work.
Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again.
I think most people have a complete misconception of what Anarchy actually means. Most believe Anarchy is lawlessness and disorder, this is not always true.
Let's shorten the word down.
An - meaning Without
Archy - meaning Leadership
Anarchists aren't always violent, looters or vandals, they are people who oppose authoritarianism and government - which any logical open-minded person would be against.
"Government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem." - Ronald Reagan
@hedgehog1977 Eh, nothing about Reagan is anarchic; he expanded government spending, drove up deficits, entrenched class rule, was a blatant militarist, propagated imperialistic policies, crushed the Nicaraguan revolution.... the only government he was against was the legacy of progressivism won as concessions from the state in response to decades of struggle by the people.
@CrawdaddyJoe You're missing the point. The point is the quote itself, not the person it came from. Reagan definitely didn't act as he stated, but he believed he did in many ways. People very very often blind themselves to the hypocrisy of their own actions by justifying it in some way that uses logical leaps. People act based on the information they have absorbed, even if that means acting in ways that others can't fathom connecting with their beliefs. Reagan was a stooge, not a mastermind
@ALBACELTS yeah, communist, liberal, countries like china and whatever is left of ussr is responsible for most of the slaughter of animals and trees of last 50 years.
thankfully, capitalist usa has tried to stop such left wing countries from continueing their left wing evilness.
Why did you just challenge me to eat a precious metal? I could have really been hurt!
You can't print money, either. (Not attacking you, I despise Tyranny as well as you.)
You don't need a king, you just need to realize that the amount of assets in the world is fixed to the amount of matter in the world and to the value people place on it. And metals are the best units to keep track of this phenomenon.
@MacTimpany I meant to say I despise tyranny as well as you do, not that I despise you also. I was just making the point that money cannot be printed any more easily than it can be eaten.
@ALBACELTS you are right, my brother! And I add, Fight the NDAA bill before its too late!!! NDAA gives the military total authority in the U.S.A.. you can be hauled away forever with no criminal charges!?!? FIGHT THE NDAA Bill before its too late! Stop it before the streets of america run red with the blood of its citizens!! FEMA camps with 5 layers of fencing designed to keep ppl in are scattered across america!! why? look for the truth before the truth becomes unobtainable!!
We Americans are in the midst of a global Fascist 'hammer-and-anvil' operation. It's been progressing since JFK was executed Nov.22, 1963. That's when the military industrial complex, Wall Street, Big Oil, Big Brother and Wall Street made their Satanic alliance to bring us down.
Along came Ron Paul, trying to wake people up to what's been happening. We're approaching financial meltdown & WWIII - it's all manufactured - for the profits and further concentration of power of the above entities.
very true and hes probibly not going to make difference... we're so far on line to oblivion its not funny, people are just going to welcome it like its another Nazi germany.
@RolandCarnaby Ron Paul the homophobic, racist, fuck-the-poor, fuck-the-environment, anti-choice, anti-immigrant geriatric quack that pals around with white supremacists and avowed neo-nazis? No thanks.
A friend of my moms was sent to jail for 10 years for murdering the man who raped his niece. The rapist wasnt found guilty or anything, he got off scot free and when this man killed the rapist they sent him to 10 years in jail....thats so fucked up. Fuck the governments and judicial systems, the corrupt fuckers
@64notorious If you think murdering someone was justified by them raping someone, you're insane. Can't just go around taking an eye for an eye. Might as well start chopping off people's hands who steal and cutting out the tongues of liars with that logic. I do agree with ya on one thing though. Our government and judicial systems fucking suck!
@jimmiepatrick It is justified. As for cutting off someones hand for stealing or cutting out a tongue for lying i dont think is fair. Liars = get lied to or just dont get any respect..theives will have their home broken into and robbed.
It'll be lonely this christmas Without you to hold It'll be lonely this christmas Lonely and cold It'll be cold so cold Without you to hold This christmas
pacifism dont scare the System... thats the fail of all OCCUPY over the globe. Here in Brazil police kills every fkng day, and ppl made a pacific occupation? blsht!
I don't completely agree with occupy. I agree with it's purpose but not how it's being done. The idea seemed great, yeah, thousands occupy wall st. Right now it's good but eventually, soon, it would be nothing. People will still sit there but how many people would focus? In my opinion action needs to be taken. I'm not quite sure what to do but more than a picket sign and a tent. A lot of people in Occupy are wannabes too which pisses me off just to say they did something. But I support the real.
@ClockingDoubt That's what I'm saying though, that's why I said action needs to be taken, instead of sitting around. I don't know if I worded it wrong or you misread it but its not a big deal
@Palestine925 this was just a kick start to the next year of civil disobedience...the international media is all over it regardless of what MSM is ordered to do they have no control over Indy media or international media...it will be worse next year the people are angry, they are pissed off and tired of being raped for all the wealth their families own, wake up people 100k in debt before you get out of college...hahaha tools, why?, i thought we educated Americans properly...
@QuietReckoning its just stuff man they can get more, and when you put trivial material possesions above our basic freedoms you are contributing to the problem, sorry if you window got smashed, but it got smashed symbolically.
@QuietReckoning This, I can agree with this but we both know sometimes peaceful action is not always enough, but i'm glad to see more people like you and not the alpha male bullshit i usually see.
@QuietReckoning No, non-violence is what allows the state to pretend like the protests don't exist. It's when the fires start that the fascists listen.
@PyroK8 The fires have been burning since the 80s. They haven't gone out. And Occupy Wall St has accomplished more in four months of Non-Violence than you idiots have accomplished with 30 years of smashed windows.
If you smash a window or set a fire, I'm going to assume that you're on Rupert Murdoch's payroll. You're a traitor and a corporate tool.
@QuietReckoning All that nonviolence has done is created a set of politicians that are really good at manipulating it. The police state hasn't just suddenly appeared- all that protesting for 50 years? Since the 60s? All that hasn't done anything. The police state is still here, despite all that yelling.
That Rupert Murdoch's payroll comment was way from left field. How is there even a connection between a violent anarchist and an employee of Murdoch's?
@QuietReckoning There's nothing wrong with destroying the property of your rivals. Especially is situations where a big corporation moves a buisness into a small town. If you break a window or something of that nature, then they will have no option but to fork over some cash to a smaller community based contractor to repair it. It's simple economics, my friend.
Or even better, if you just burn the whole fucker down, it will cease to exsist.
@STKexotics Hopefully you realize that if a big buisness enters a small comunnity then they also bring several jobs to the town in which the people of the small town can have. If people begin to bust up windows and burn it down then this big corporation can take their buisness, jobs, and money (which can be used in the state in turn increasing profit of the entire state which then makes improvement easier) out to a different state or country.
@0NZero0 Actually, when corporations enter a small town, they take all profits from that branch(e.i. 90+ percent of the earnings) and send them to he headquarters, which is typically in some big city somewhere across the country. The remaining ten percent goes to pay the employees. It's been proven economically that corporations are bad for small towns.
With small business', all(or most) of the money stays in the local economy.
@QuietReckoning UMADbro? so i smash your windows...what you don't talk about is how i also rebuilt it the next day....like i said it was symbolic, doesn't it burn your ass how we clean up the city and fix your busted shit, yeah your welcome, and expect more very soon...and we will rebuild very shortly after..its civil disobedience, all it is doing is causing chaos within police depts..you don't like it move the fuck out of my country... everything you own will be used as an icon of democracy, FU
Anarchy, LIbertarianism, and communism are all forms of Utopian socities that HAVE NOT and can not work in modern times. For ANY of those three systems to work human beings will have to change fundamentally through some sort of hyper-evolution. But as human nature exists today, those forms of societal organizations are absurd and people who claim to be one of those are just too intellectually lazy to come up with real solutions in REAL LIFE.
my personal opinion is that Obama is pretty much a complete tool and a fake liberal. He is not a true left wing politician, sure its fucking awesome that racism in America has been subdued to a level where it is possible to have a black president BUT i still think he is just a political puppet. All the behind-the-scenes shit that went on in the Bush administration is still going on, it's just this time we have a charismatic articulate spokesperson for it
yes, as flawed as it is, the state is the only protection we have against corprotocracy. with the absense of even an admittedly corrupt government the corporations would rape us and our planet. and jist because a few of us r intelligent n moral enough to self govern most humans are not.
@SelfAware1 That is completely false. The state doesn't stop corporations from "raping" people. If anything it helps corporations "rape" people. Corporations would only exist if they had a service or good people actually wanted otherwise no one would buy it and they wouldn't be in business. Just look at the military industrial complex and prison system. Its corporate welfare.
@RaytheonPwnsYou Well, with all due respect, if you believe that i would ask you to study the "robber barons" in the 19th century. And what about the pharmaceutical industry? We all need medicine at some point, but again an d again their pills cause death, illness, addiction, etc. and they are actually regulated by the FDA. The free market doesn't regulate itself, it never has and it never will. In an anarchist state how do we break up monopolies?
@SelfAware1 Have you ever heard of Agorism? If not then I suggest you do some research on it.
If the drugs killed people then you wouldn't buy them. Its as simple as that. And saying that they are still regulated by the FDA and cause issues just disproves your point. The state isn't helping anything. Does the state break up monopolies now? no. Look up Agorism.
@RaytheonPwnsYou pt.2 arguing for the state in order to break up monopolies is a logical fallacy because the state IS a monopoly itself. A monopoly of force and coercion.
@RaytheonPwnsYou haha, if the drugs kill me i wont be around to not buy them DUMBFUCK. Go suck the dick of corporate america, when your done, go look up robber barons and find out what the free market, with no government interference looks like. hope you dont mind child labor and no minimum wage!
@RaytheonPwnsYou haha "your argument falls apart and you start slingin obscenities."
did you read your post, you just did the EXACT thing you made fun of me for doing. Your argument was that if their pills kill you then you will stop buying their pills, i said if the pills kill me, i wont be alive to stop buying their pills. i then pointed to a point in american history where "the free market was left to regulate itself" in which corporate rule took over. i dont know what else i can say.
@RaytheonPwnsYou Please point to one society or one time in any society in which the free market regulated itself and prosperity blossomed for all the people. Please give me ONE example.. I have already given you an example IN AMERICA where the exact oppostie occured. My argument did not fall apart in the least.
@SelfAware1 Markets need regulation by whom? A government with a monopoly of power and a monopoly of violence?? A truly free market regulates itself. Period. Government regulation can only be carried out through the barrel of a gun. Is that really what you want? Liberty or statism. Those are the two choices. You either trust the market or a coercive monopoly (the State) Huge multinational corporations abusing workers wouldn't be possible if it weren't for state involvement.
@RaytheonPwnsYou YOu do understand that just repeating " a truly free market regulates itself. period." Does not make it any more true. Government regulation is carried out through the barrel of the gun? Please tell me what industry is regulated at gun point? Liberty or statism is a false choice fallacy, their are plenty of other options. the world is not black and white. Huge multinational corporations abusing workers would most definilty be possible, the corporate structure necessitates it.
@SelfAware1 stop paying your taxes and see what happens. Gibson guitars was raided by masked men with assault rifles and SMG's, food co-ops in as well as Marijuana dispensaries. They've raided the Amish in my state for selling raw milk. I mean just look at how well the Government regulates our banking industry, huge oil companies and the likes. Its working out so well. Bankers are the new robber barrens.
@RaytheonPwnsYou i agree with you on all of that. but the problem is not inherent in government, the problem comes from the fact that our government is doing the bidding of big business and not the bidding of the people. OUr government is corrupted, no question about it. But the solution is not to dismantle government, the solution is to get money out of politics and make our politicians more accountable to us, and any politician who takes ANYTHING of material value from special interest should
@SelfAware1 Why do you think the government won't just do the same thing in another 70 years? The reason that bankers can abuse the government is because the government is there to abuse. The government has an inherent power over the people, and MNCs don't have that power. Dismantle the state, that gets rid of property. Get rid of property, that gets rid of money. Get rid of money, that gets rid of banks.
@PyroK8 The government is SUPPOSED to regulate the banks and all industry, but our government has been bought, so it has been corrupted by the entities it is supposed to regulate. It is like the refs in a football game get paid off by on team (industry). It doesnt mean all refs are corrupt or stupid, it just means our ref is bought off. We have to get our ref back to do its job, thats all. And all government is is society organized. So nothing inherent in the government is evil, some people are.
@SelfAware1 I thumbed up your comment for supplying us with a great..umm analogy (if thats the right word) for describing how the government in many countries are currently working.
@SelfAware1 All governments, in my opinion, will inevitably corrupt. They may seem great at first, but they change. It always has and always will happen. We need something never put into place. Anarchism. That's not lack of governance, that's replacing leadership/rulers/politicians with democracy. Instead of a top-down order where the top has power, it'd be bottom-up, so the bottom (Everyone) would have the power. Take the state (monopoly of power) and democratically redistribute that power.
@owingawat How about we pledge our allegeance to the constitution; and be vigilant for incrementalisational encroachment from the federal government???
@brekgar89 Didn't we try to set that system up a long time ago and it turned into this? Plus, I prefer democracy, which our founding fathers didn't think would work, and feared/had contempt for it. They wanted a system of well-born rich to rule. Greed took that over though.
@MightyQuinn39 If we kill them, the system will still be there. If we make a system, and it grows then we can 'shed' this system. ll build the society we want in the shell of the old, violent revolutions never worked that great either.
@monk22yrs I dont see how im a fascist if i say i want to kill a fascist killing doesnt make people fascist it makes them insane crazy or even have demetia i have neither of these things people that take no notice of the things their making bad and ruining for the rest of the population killing people for no reason thats fascism
@MightyQuinn39 (1) the label fascistis pretty meaningless now days, thanks to it being over-used; 1970s liberals called the movie 'dirty harry" fascist.
(2) the real fascist spain was never as bad as the many communist countries that liberals loved---lots of movies were made in the real fascist spain; clint eastwood westerns to "dr zivago" to a luis bunuel surrealist movie. At the same time, communist countries like the ussr didn't allow any western film makers.
@monk22yrs Liberals don't love communist countries. lmfao I'm far left-wing, and I am opposed to the USSR, Cuba, China, North Korea and the rest. True, NAZI germany, Mussolini's Italy and Spain were probably great places for the people that lived there. But that was because of the booming imperial war economy. That type of system would have led to the end of the world probably.
@owingawat LIBERALS HAVE ALWAYS LOVED COMMUNIST COUNTRIES!!!!
that's been the complaint of conservatives for the last 100 years!
american liberals in the 1930s/40 called stalin "uncle joe"----that's where orwell got the idea of big brother.
italy was very pro-communist in the 1970s; france pro-communist in the 1960s; leon trotsky is buried in mexico. 1960s hippies loved chairman mao, and of course fidel castro. only cuban-americans and conservatives have hated castro.
@monk22yrs Stalin was called uncle Joe before we hated him just like how conservatives praised hitler and mussolini. The problem isn't that liberals love communist countries, it's that conservatives always say they do. Either way, both parties in our government don't work for us. And to talk about 1960's hippies, lmao your talking about to many ideologies to sum them all up into one group and say they all loved mao.
@owingawat (1) hitler and stalin signed a peace pact in 1939; a notorious peace pact----with american communists at the time told not to criticize hitler.
(2) hollywood has always been notorious for loving communism. the god-awful movie, REDS won for best picture only cause it was pro-communist.
(3) hanoi jane, and 60s anti-war protesters were very pro-communist/anti-american.
(4) american liberals didn't believe the cambodian genocide was happening---cause pol pot was communist.
@owingawat While anarchism is phenomenal in theory, it would never work in the world we live on. By nature, we humans are greedy, selfish and always out for ourselves. There are plenty of people that are wonderful and go out of their way to help others, which is terrific, but when they have to fend for themselves, the 'animal instinct' would take over.
While no government is perfect, I believe that having one is better than not. Somalia is the perfect example of this.
@TheMeaning0fLife What stops our animal instincts when there is a gov't in place? Laws and punishments, which we'd still have in an anarchist society. If you don't trust humans, then why would you let a few of these 'greedy selfish people' have power over the rest of us? lol you gave an argument against government without even realizing it. While government is phenomenal in theory, it will never work in the world we live on.
@owingawat Look at Somalia. They took down their completely corrupt government, and didn't reinstate one. They had an anarchist country. The police and hospitals fell apart because they didn't have any source of income. Drug lords and other criminals took over because there weren't any police to stop them. Yes, there would be rules in an anarchist society, but who would attempt to enforce them? Give me a reason why anarchism would work here, when it didn't over there.
@TheMeaning0fLife Somalia wasn't anarchist. There were still leaders, the drug lords and other criminals. Anarchism would come when we start running things collectively with democracy. The Occupy movement is an anarchist society. No hierarchies, no leaders, but still has order and rules. Somalia had hierarchies and leaders of the country, which were the drug lords, etc. Look at anarchist Spain from 1936-1939 until the fascist and communists crushed it. Or the EZLN and Zapatista communities.
@chriszanf A dictatorship of the masses... yes. It's called democracy. And it sounds a lot better than letting a few rich dictate us all for there own interests.
@owingawat Its still a dictatorship. Doesnt matter if it "sounds better". It is what it is. You will still have no control over your life as it will be dictated to you by committee.
Want to go skydiving? Sorry, thats been ruled too dangerous.
Want to drink? Sorry, alcohol has been ruled as deleterious.
Want to play computer games? Sorry, they have been ruled as too violent.
@evanlongaccount No, Im pointing out that whatever kind of authority you submit to, it will inevitably dictate the terms that you are allowed to live your life.
@chriszanf Wow that would be ridiculous. People wouldn't let that happen, and if it's the people that rule everything do you think the people are going to do that and create those laws? no, there not.
@owingawat It is absolutely inevitable that any time people submit to any kind of authority, the terms of how they can live their lives will be dictated to.
For example: in the Netherlands, a supposed left wing leaning country, the state threatened to take Laura Dekker away from her parents. In Sweden, another apparently forward thinking country has banned homeschooling and threatens to take kids from their parents.
Now... is it the choice of the state or those kids parents what they do?
as for US no, federal government has no authority to dictate monetary policy. founding fathers knew it would be giving too much power to allow one single institution control US monetary policy, read End the Fed by ron paul.
RON PAUL 2012 - don't forget - register republican to get him through primaries, he'll do the rest
@PyroK8 And you wont get rid of property or money, not in the foreseeable future. Those things serve a purpose. However, it depends on how broadly you are using the word "property". Your computer is your property, i cant just come over and steal it from you without facing prison term of revenge from you.
@SelfAware1: Even if you succeed in getting rid of crony capitalism, you will still have an unjustified authoritarian state that has the unnecessary power to exploit.
@HispanicIsNotARace1 what is justified authority? is there such a thing in your opinion? I hope one day the state, religion, and capitalism are all abolished, but we are not ready as a species to make that jump quite yet. Anyways, surely there are justified forms of authority. If someone breaks into your house and rapes your girlfriend, shouldnt the authority of the state be sufficient to lock that asshole in a cage for years? or is that too much authority?
@SelfAware1: Yes there is justified authority. One example of justified authority is a parent. You can usually consider parents a self subverting authority. How do you know what humans are ready for? First, my girlfriend being raped, and the state locking the rapist in the a cage for years, imo does not justify the state. And instead of locking people up in cages, why not try something that is different?
If you mean that instead of a system of law based on pure punishment we have one based on rehabilitation, then i agree. But the state would, presumably, have the 'authority' to rehabilitate people.
@SelfAware1:Parents are very important for the social and cognitive development of a child. Parents are here to teach, make rational decisions, feed, and so on for kids who are not grown to do these things on his or her own. For example, a newborn needs an authority such as a parent to survive. And when a kid is grown and old enough, the parents authority pretty much subverts it's basis.
Of course the state would give itself the authority but that does not justify the state.
Communism is the goal of both anarchists and communists. The political meaning of communism is the absence of an oppressive state. The occupy movement should strive towards the formation of popular councils in neighborhoods and workplaces like in Greece now. In Russia the first labor-council (soviet) was formed by the anarchist Voline in 1905,The Russian revolution was won under the slogan "All power to the soviets". Without councils, the occupy movement will slowly whither away.
@FuckZePont Not true...anarchy is different. Anarchist who want communism are called anarcho-communists who advocate the idea of anarchy as a way to abolish the capitalist state for communism. Soviet Russia is an example of this. However a government is established and then it is no longer anarchy because there is authority. Anarchy, of course, is against authority. As my teacher told me capitalists picks the boss, communists pick the employee, anarchists pick none of them.
Can we try Direct Digital Democracy first guys? My sympathies as former Commune Hippie are with you. My street fighting, pistol packing past is stirred by you. BUT I just love you beautiful PPL too much to want to see your blood running in the streets....or almost anybodies. OK sure I'd like to see bush and cheney hung like Mussolini....NO NOT REALLY I want them to man the rakes on the Gulf Beaches....
actually rocker 22496 if you knew anything about marx you would know that he was an anarchist. He may have kicked current anarchists out because they believed destroying all authority immediately would work. Marx saw this as failing so he believed in instating a new form a government temporarily (communism or socialism) to teach people how to produce and share in a civilized way. Eventually over time, government would become pointless and anarchy would prevail, peacefully. Get your facts right
I'm going to put a quote here and I want you guys to tell me what you think of this statement. "An anarchist can be a socialist, but a socialist can't be an anarchist." Now I'm just doing this for a study, my opinion is not involved in this. I just want to hear what you guys think of this.

As for the thing about the people not having anything to give, this is simply false. They currently don't have anything to give, because what they produce is taken away from them. con

@CrawdaddyJoe Just an example of how anarchism comes naturally to everyone, whether they realize it or not.
hedgehog1977 3 weeks ago
@hedgehog1977 Eh, nothing about Reagan is anarchic; he expanded government spending, drove up deficits, entrenched class rule, was a blatant militarist, propagated imperialistic policies, crushed the Nicaraguan revolution.... the only government he was against was the legacy of progressivism won as concessions from the state in response to decades of struggle by the people.
CrawdaddyJoe 3 weeks ago
@CrawdaddyJoe You're missing the point. The point is the quote itself, not the person it came from. Reagan definitely didn't act as he stated, but he believed he did in many ways. People very very often blind themselves to the hypocrisy of their own actions by justifying it in some way that uses logical leaps. People act based on the information they have absorbed, even if that means acting in ways that others can't fathom connecting with their beliefs. Reagan was a stooge, not a mastermind

QuietReckoning 1 week ago
@QuietReckoning All that nonviolence has done is created a set of politicians that are really good at manipulating it. The police state hasn't just suddenly appeared- all that protesting for 50 years? Since the 60s? All that hasn't done anything. The police state is still here, despite all that yelling.
That Rupert Murdoch's payroll comment was way from left field. How is there even a connection between a violent anarchist and an employee of Murdoch's?
PyroK8 1 week ago
@QuietReckoning There's nothing wrong with destroying the property of your rivals. Especially is situations where a big corporation moves a buisness into a small town. If you break a window or something of that nature, then they will have no option but to fork over some cash to a smaller community based contractor to repair it. It's simple economics, my friend.
Or even better, if you just burn the whole fucker down, it will cease to exsist.
Think globally, act locally ;)
STKexotics 5 days ago
@STKexotics Hopefully you realize that if a big buisness enters a small comunnity then they also bring several jobs to the town in which the people of the small town can have. If people begin to bust up windows and burn it down then this big corporation can take their buisness, jobs, and money (which can be used in the state in turn increasing profit of the entire state which then makes improvement easier) out to a different state or country.
0NZero0 18 hours ago
@0NZero0 Actually, when corporations enter a small town, they take all profits from that branch(e.i. 90+ percent of the earnings) and send them to he headquarters, which is typically in some big city somewhere across the country. The remaining ten percent goes to pay the employees. It's been proven economically that corporations are bad for small towns.
With small business', all(or most) of the money stays in the local economy.
STKexotics 12 hours ago

Anarchy, LIbertarianism, and communism are all forms of Utopian socities that HAVE NOT and can not work in modern times. For ANY of those three systems to work human beings will have to change fundamentally through some sort of hyper-evolution. But as human nature exists today, those forms of societal organizations are absurd and people who claim to be one of those are just too intellectually lazy to come up with real solutions in REAL LIFE.

SelfAware1 2 months ago
@SelfAware1 That is completely false. The state doesn't stop corporations from "raping" people. If anything it helps corporations "rape" people. Corporations would only exist if they had a service or good people actually wanted otherwise no one would buy it and they wouldn't be in business. Just look at the military industrial complex and prison system. Its corporate welfare.
RaytheonPwnsYou 2 months ago
@RaytheonPwnsYou Well, with all due respect, if you believe that i would ask you to study the "robber barons" in the 19th century. And what about the pharmaceutical industry? We all need medicine at some point, but again an d again their pills cause death, illness, addiction, etc. and they are actually regulated by the FDA. The free market doesn't regulate itself, it never has and it never will. In an anarchist state how do we break up monopolies?
SelfAware1 2 months ago
@SelfAware1 Have you ever heard of Agorism? If not then I suggest you do some research on it.
If the drugs killed people then you wouldn't buy them. Its as simple as that. And saying that they are still regulated by the FDA and cause issues just disproves your point. The state isn't helping anything. Does the state break up monopolies now? no. Look up Agorism.
RaytheonPwnsYou 2 months ago
@RaytheonPwnsYou pt.2 arguing for the state in order to break up monopolies is a logical fallacy because the state IS a monopoly itself. A monopoly of force and coercion.

@RaytheonPwnsYou Please point to one society or one time in any society in which the free market regulated itself and prosperity blossomed for all the people. Please give me ONE example.. I have already given you an example IN AMERICA where the exact oppostie occured. My argument did not fall apart in the least.
SelfAware1 2 months ago
@SelfAware1 Markets need regulation by whom? A government with a monopoly of power and a monopoly of violence?? A truly free market regulates itself. Period. Government regulation can only be carried out through the barrel of a gun. Is that really what you want? Liberty or statism. Those are the two choices. You either trust the market or a coercive monopoly (the State) Huge multinational corporations abusing workers wouldn't be possible if it weren't for state involvement.
RaytheonPwnsYou 2 months ago

RaytheonPwnsYou 2 months ago
@RaytheonPwnsYou i agree with you on all of that. but the problem is not inherent in government, the problem comes from the fact that our government is doing the bidding of big business and not the bidding of the people. OUr government is corrupted, no question about it. But the solution is not to dismantle government, the solution is to get money out of politics and make our politicians more accountable to us, and any politician who takes ANYTHING of material value from special interest should
SelfAware1 2 months ago
@SelfAware1 Why do you think the government won't just do the same thing in another 70 years? The reason that bankers can abuse the government is because the government is there to abuse. The government has an inherent power over the people, and MNCs don't have that power. Dismantle the state, that gets rid of property. Get rid of property, that gets rid of money. Get rid of money, that gets rid of banks.
PyroK8 2 months ago
@PyroK8 The government is SUPPOSED to regulate the banks and all industry, but our government has been bought, so it has been corrupted by the entities it is supposed to regulate. It is like the refs in a football game get paid off by on team (industry). It doesnt mean all refs are corrupt or stupid, it just means our ref is bought off. We have to get our ref back to do its job, thats all. And all government is is society organized. So nothing inherent in the government is evil, some people are.

MightyQuinn39 3 weeks ago
@MightyQuinn39 (1) the label fascistis pretty meaningless now days, thanks to it being over-used; 1970s liberals called the movie 'dirty harry" fascist.
(2) the real fascist spain was never as bad as the many communist countries that liberals loved---lots of movies were made in the real fascist spain; clint eastwood westerns to "dr zivago" to a luis bunuel surrealist movie. At the same time, communist countries like the ussr didn't allow any western film makers.
monk22yrs 3 weeks ago
@monk22yrs Liberals don't love communist countries. lmfao I'm far left-wing, and I am opposed to the USSR, Cuba, China, North Korea and the rest. True, NAZI germany, Mussolini's Italy and Spain were probably great places for the people that lived there. But that was because of the booming imperial war economy. That type of system would have led to the end of the world probably.
owingawat 3 weeks ago
@owingawat LIBERALS HAVE ALWAYS LOVED COMMUNIST COUNTRIES!!!!
that's been the complaint of conservatives for the last 100 years!
american liberals in the 1930s/40 called stalin "uncle joe"----that's where orwell got the idea of big brother.
italy was very pro-communist in the 1970s; france pro-communist in the 1960s; leon trotsky is buried in mexico. 1960s hippies loved chairman mao, and of course fidel castro. only cuban-americans and conservatives have hated castro.
monk22yrs 3 weeks ago

@monk22yrs I feel like you don't understand there opinions very well. Plus, I would've been a sixties anti war protester if I was old enough.

@owingawat (1)kid...i was a kid in the 1960s, and when i was a teen in late 70s i went through the anarchist/communist phase....it is a phase.
(2) hanoi jane---look up her photos; she laughing with viet cong about killing....AMERICANS. that was the attitude of 60s protesters.
(3) look up the weathermen and sla----early 70s terrorists that came out of vietnam war protest movement, killing innocent americans.
you really should read old books and magazine backissues----videos dont count

@monk22yrs Plus fascist government and corporations worked side by side. That's what fascism is, the fusion of corporations and government.

TheMeaning0fLife 2 weeks ago
@TheMeaning0fLife What stops our animal instincts when there is a gov't in place? Laws and punishments, which we'd still have in an anarchist society. If you don't trust humans, then why would you let a few of these 'greedy selfish people' have power over the rest of us? lol you gave an argument against government without even realizing it. While government is phenomenal in theory, it will never work in the world we live on.
owingawat 2 weeks ago
@owingawat Look at Somalia. They took down their completely corrupt government, and didn't reinstate one. They had an anarchist country. The police and hospitals fell apart because they didn't have any source of income. Drug lords and other criminals took over because there weren't any police to stop them. Yes, there would be rules in an anarchist society, but who would attempt to enforce them? Give me a reason why anarchism would work here, when it didn't over there.
TheMeaning0fLife 2 weeks ago
@TheMeaning0fLife Somalia wasn't anarchist. There were still leaders, the drug lords and other criminals. Anarchism would come when we start running things collectively with democracy. The Occupy movement is an anarchist society. No hierarchies, no leaders, but still has order and rules. Somalia had hierarchies and leaders of the country, which were the drug lords, etc. Look at anarchist Spain from 1936-1939 until the fascist and communists crushed it. Or the EZLN and Zapatista communities.

@owingawat "that's replacing leadership/rulers/politicians with democracy."
Replacing corporate dictatorship with dictatorship of the masses?
chriszanf 1 week ago
@chriszanf A dictatorship of the masses... yes. It's called democracy. And it sounds a lot better than letting a few rich dictate us all for there own interests.
owingawat 1 week ago
@owingawat Its still a dictatorship. Doesnt matter if it "sounds better". It is what it is. You will still have no control over your life as it will be dictated to you by committee.
Want to go skydiving? Sorry, thats been ruled too dangerous.
Want to drink? Sorry, alcohol has been ruled as deleterious.
Want to play computer games? Sorry, they have been ruled as too violent.
Getting the picture yet?
chriszanf 1 week ago 4
@chriszanf The protection of extreme sports, alcohol abuse, and violent video games is your top political priority?
evanlongaccount 1 week ago 5
@evanlongaccount No, Im pointing out that whatever kind of authority you submit to, it will inevitably dictate the terms that you are allowed to live your life.
chriszanf 4 days ago
@chriszanf Wow that would be ridiculous. People wouldn't let that happen, and if it's the people that rule everything do you think the people are going to do that and create those laws? no, there not.
owingawat 1 week ago
@owingawat It is absolutely inevitable that any time people submit to any kind of authority, the terms of how they can live their lives will be dictated to.
For example: in the Netherlands, a supposed left wing leaning country, the state threatened to take Laura Dekker away from her parents. In Sweden, another apparently forward thinking country has banned homeschooling and threatens to take kids from their parents.
Now... is it the choice of the state or those kids parents what they do?
chriszanf 4 days ago
@chriszanf Exactly. Get rid of the state. Whether they say they're liberal or conservative, they both bullshit and dont work for us.

@SelfAware1 which government???????????
as for US no, federal government has no authority to dictate monetary policy. founding fathers knew it would be giving too much power to allow one single institution control US monetary policy, read End the Fed by ron paul.
RON PAUL 2012 - don't forget - register republican to get him through primaries, he'll do the rest
brekgar89 1 month ago
@PyroK8 And you wont get rid of property or money, not in the foreseeable future. Those things serve a purpose. However, it depends on how broadly you are using the word "property". Your computer is your property, i cant just come over and steal it from you without facing prison term of revenge from you.

@SelfAware1: Even if you succeed in getting rid of crony capitalism, you will still have an unjustified authoritarian state that has the unnecessary power to exploit.
HispanicIsNotARace1 1 month ago
@HispanicIsNotARace1 what is justified authority? is there such a thing in your opinion? I hope one day the state, religion, and capitalism are all abolished, but we are not ready as a species to make that jump quite yet. Anyways, surely there are justified forms of authority. If someone breaks into your house and rapes your girlfriend, shouldnt the authority of the state be sufficient to lock that asshole in a cage for years? or is that too much authority?
SelfAware1 1 month ago
@SelfAware1: Yes there is justified authority. One example of justified authority is a parent. You can usually consider parents a self subverting authority. How do you know what humans are ready for? First, my girlfriend being raped, and the state locking the rapist in the a cage for years, imo does not justify the state. And instead of locking people up in cages, why not try something that is different?
HispanicIsNotARace1 1 month ago
@HispanicIsNotARace1 Why do parents have justified authority?
If you mean that instead of a system of law based on pure punishment we have one based on rehabilitation, then i agree. But the state would, presumably, have the 'authority' to rehabilitate people.
SelfAware1 1 month ago
@SelfAware1:Parents are very important for the social and cognitive development of a child. Parents are here to teach, make rational decisions, feed, and so on for kids who are not grown to do these things on his or her own. For example, a newborn needs an authority such as a parent to survive. And when a kid is grown and old enough, the parents authority pretty much subverts it's basis.
Of course the state would give itself the authority but that does not justify the state.
HispanicIsNotARace1 1 month ago
@RaytheonPwnsYou should be jailed on corruption charges. Start throwing these corrupt cunts in prison and watch how fast they change their ways.

FuckZePont 2 months ago
@FuckZePont Not true...anarchy is different. Anarchist who want communism are called anarcho-communists who advocate the idea of anarchy as a way to abolish the capitalist state for communism. Soviet Russia is an example of this. However a government is established and then it is no longer anarchy because there is authority. Anarchy, of course, is against authority. As my teacher told me capitalists picks the boss, communists pick the employee, anarchists pick none of them.

actually rocker 22496 if you knew anything about marx you would know that he was an anarchist.

AtarisGuy33 2 months ago
@AtarisGuy33
Anarchism is a type of socialism.
Perhaps the disparity in the statement comes from the term 'socialism' coming to mean the social democrat parties of Europe and such?
I guess an exception could be made for individualist anarchists and some others, but mostly, yeah, anarchism is a variety of socialism.
