  • Loretta can sing anything, Absolute Legend in country music! AWESOME!!!

  • VVonderful!!!

  • women with non-violent convictions (ex. drug possession) should just get house arrest and actulally cook, clean, do laundry, raise kids etc. for their family and watch Oprah, soap operas and talk on the phone to their sisters and woman friends non-stop like they used to. No, that makes too much sense to work.

  • What's to stop them continuing their participation in the drugs trade from home?

  • WOW Loretta is awesome, just an amazing album. Love you Loretta.

  • powerful and emotional

  • molto bella la canzone e molto brava la cantante

  • Great Job with one of Loretta's Best Songs ever! To Bad more people are familiar with The Van Lear Rose Album,

  • Yes, I agree! Van Lear Rose was hailed as one of the best records of the decade though. And won a Grammy, however this should be played on country radio!

  • @BronsonsPapa To bad that more people is familiar with Van Lear Rose why don't you like Loretta Lynn The Queen Of Country Music. If you don't listen to her. And don't put stupid stuff on her calling her music bad.

  • @BronsonsPapa Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • This is just like Johnny Cash's later work--way underated. This is an awsome tune and great video!

  • Actually it reminded me of Johnny Cash-25 Minutes To Go.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice the CASH influence.

  • Thanjs. But I guess I'm ignorant in way. Is this not the official video? If not, it should be. It's awesome! Of course it's an awesome song!

  • @clayrains Hell yea its awsome she's been in Country Music for 50 years and had to do some suff to get to the younger generation. And she did it was the Best Album Of The Year And Won Her 4 Grammys. And The Best Album Of The Year. And she's doing 3 new Cd this year that will be out this summer. The Queen Of Country Music Miss Loretta Lynn.

  • The bond between a mother and a daughter is such a soft, aching mystery. Even in a prison, a beautiful place to go.

  • wow..powerful song and video..Loretta Lynn is one of mt Idols..thanks for posting this and letting me know Katie.

  • Not entirely sure what I think about it, I'm not gonna say she's the next Johnny Cash, but who knows? I'll definitley keep my eye on her career, the songs definitly a good one!

  • OMG R U SERIOUS? It's Loretta Lynn dude....

  • hey i hadn't heard this song-I'm not a big fan of her voice, but the lyrics are amazing. thank you.

  • she was really smart for bringing jack white along for the ride. awesome song!! loretta rocks!!!!

  • ladies & gentle remember no one is worth this, no one except your children.

  • thanks katie. sweet

  • Beautiful ending to the video!

  • that was really good i have never heard that song before thanks for sharing :)

  • Love it! Loretta's mountain sound is like no other. And I love that she brought attention to the female inmates, and how many are in there because they were in abusive relationships and just defended themselves, and should not have been in prison at all.I also LOVE the strong r&r drums at the climax!Great song & message! Thanx so much!!!

  • I completely agree with you. I think a lot of times we dehumanize the inmates and forget that they're someone's mother or sister or father or brother. They're people too, even if they committed horrible crimes.

It's sad that so many of them do come from abusive relationships or were abused as children. You just never know what you're capable of until you're in a situation that desperate.

  • good post K-na3, made me think of 'phone call from Levenworth' by Chris Whitley. RIP.

She got what she deserved. Kill em all, let God sort em out.

  • WONDERFUL!

  • This was amazing thanks for sharing it.

  • CLASSIC!!! Thanks for posting!! :)

  • I love this song, it's my favorite Loretta song too. Simple, but with different layers of meaning. I think when she sings about "The door to my cell swings open/the door to my cell is open wide" it works as a metaphor for female experience, going through life with a vagina, fear of being raped, punished, etc. This song seems really feminist--I like that she shoots the guy and not the woman he cheated with. The song reminds me of Eileen Warnose too.

  • Hey, Katie thank you for this video, it's very sweet;))

  • thank you katiemadonna3 I enjoyed that video, i love Lorretta Lynn she is the best. I also love the Judds they are the best female duet

  • "Wny Not Me" is one of my favorites by The Judds, it reminds me of my Mom.

  • Thank you for the video- beautiful work- haunting images with an amazing song from Loretta. Well done to all!

  • Thank you Odamae!

  • this is really great. it captures the soul of this wonderful song. i loved it. thank you.

  • Awesome song Thanks! Katiemaddonna3

  • Isn't it?

Loretta Lynn is the best! There isn't one bad song on Van Lear Rose!!!!

  • this is so goog i love Her she is awsome!!!

  • I love this song and everything on 'Van Lear Rose'! Loretta is incredible, and I am so glad Jack White recognized her musical genius as well as ability to tackle controversial subjects. He opened a lot of ears and minds to an ageless and unmatched talent. Thank you so much for doing the same thing, Katie!

  • You don't get better that Loretta!

  • good vid

  • WOW!!! what a reality check!!

  • very great song, love it.

  • well i dont think this video or song is COUNTRY, it's even play in a ROCK form(so the younger fan's listen to it) the rock guitar style, her voice is draging, need i say more, dont get me wrong, i love her old music, but at her age, she should stick to her old stuff and be HAPPY. I know i pissed a lot of pepole off, but that is what this form is for, to be honest. Mac

  • I disagree. At her age, she needs to be writing and performing. Age doesn't diminish talent, cultural impact, or love from her fans.

  • that was an amazing album. loretta rocks and who cares what "genre" it is? is that so important to you? this song is amazing. god bless loretta and jack white

  • Right on!

  • You could not be more wrong..but you have your opinion...but..her voice is not dragging...it is awesome especially at her age..she is so awesome.

  • Hee, the funny thing about this is the part of 'she should stick to her old stuff'...it sounds like her old stuff right down to the controversy. Hello, she did 'the Pill' and it caused quite a stir at the time and she was blasted for it, mainly be men of course. And let's not forget 'Don't Home a Drinking with Loving on your Mind', men did't like that one too much either.

  • thanks great love that women you done great on the video

  • Powerful!!! Loretta sure has talent and never ceases to Amaze me..... Katie you have some talent too!!!

  • Very nicely done! I'm sure that the folks in Loretta's camp will appreciate the creative talent that was invested in this very controversial subject.

Who know's...the power of YouTube might just spark a new interest in this song! We all know that Loretta is no stranger to taboo subjects.

  • Hi there Katie. You've made a great job. Keep going on, my Lady and god bless you for all your wonderful jobs you've done.

  • Thank you, so much Chuck! And God Bless everything you do!

  • This is wexcellant!~!!!!

  • Thank you!!! I wish Loretta would release the song as single!!!!

  • OMG me too!!!

And use this video as the music video!!!

I personally see nothing wrong with the song, but couldnt ya just imagine it being another banned-song-gone-#1-grammy-winner????

  • I can see totally see that. I think it her "Hurt", you know the Johnnie Cash song. Its the real blood and guts of Van Lear Rose!

  • 5/5

  • That is special. Katie Madonna is a star!

  • Awe! Thank you, pope.

  • this is brilliant!!

  • Powerful!! thanks for sharing.

  • Excellent video! Has Loretta seen it?

  • Yes, she has!

  • You have such a creative mind.
