  • Love that "The End" riff at 0:29

  • ugh her bass tone touches me inappropriately in many places

  • The more comments I read the more convinced the author of the negative comments either A.) Did not watch all the video or B.) Are completely deaf. Complaints about Corgan's guitar playing or singing should be instantly terminated upon viewing of 2:37 - 4:20 (shred tastic) and 8:35 - 9:00 (you want to tell em that is not old school Billy screaming?) respectively.

  • Jimmy Chmaberlin might as well be God.

  • jesus christ no one moshes anymore. Everyones just standing there trying to figure out what to do

  • Jeff Schroeder is criminally underrated as a guitarist. He should be given the Nobel Prize for Extreme Soloing or something.

  • so silverfucking GREAT!

  • Hey Cindy, remember this one in high school?

  • Saw them at Leeds that year, great performance and all but I can't help but feel bitter that other places got to see them do Cherub Rock and Silverfuck!

  • @grunge00123 it really disappoints with the image one has about this group. siamese dream used to be my all time favourite when i was a teenager. i actually listened to that tape hundreds of times. i remember that i actually paid someone my 3 months savings just to get me the lyrics for this album.now i'm 32 and the other day i went browsing through the old times videos and its just like someone put it- groups run out of inspiration but they don't necessarily acknowledge it.

  • embarassing... billy shoud just give up.

  • Why? I thought this was a good video lol

  • this is the the shit.

    no wait. is the goldenshit

  • Fucking glad I saw pumpkins live in 2000 at Molson Park @ Barrie Ontario.. They were still the full pumpkins minus Darcy I believe ;)

  • What a shitty crowd. I'd be going absolutely mental.

  • mehhh the 90s pumpkins were better.... the crowd here are probably like, never heard of this before

  • amazing

  • his voice fucking sucks right now, i feel like billy right now is like the roger waters of the 2000's... egocentric, narcissist, and self-centered, i mean dont get me wrong im a die-hard pumpkins fan, but what billy is doing right now, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope... that shit aint the pumpkins, thats just him trying to adapt. all rockbands reach a limit, and the pumpkins did, but he just couldnt give it up, i mean he can still make music, but not the pumpkins, because the SP's are no longer here

  • FTW.

  • what is he saying at 4:33? i want those lyrics

  • @cowboyjak224

He's singing lines from "The End" by The Doors.

  • 0:58 STIFFFF crowd

  • i wish he didint lose his trucking hair !....yeah thats right i said trucking

  • I wonder if Mike Byrne will ever learn this?

  • good one :D

  • @nasalscarecrow they are playing it on their new tour along with GEEK USA MOTHERFUCKERS YAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

  • @jsh020 I heard they rehearsed Geek USA but didn't know about this? If it's true, I may have a celebratory silvertoss.

  • @nasalscarecrow yah you can find both the 2011 live shows of silverfuck(got to type in silver crank) and geek USA, it sounds great, billy's voice sounds straight from the adore days

  • i hate billy's new singing style

    bring back the original pumpkins!

  • @jean11211 hes started to mumble like michael stripe

  • im not saying this isnt great and all but hasnt billy lost some spark i mean this song is so much more intense in earlier versions, and billy u might be a god but even gods should have modesty to not rip off other gods (Jim morrison end song is just fail ) that can only be sung by one and only the creator. BRING BACK IHA AND DARCY ......

  • 9:03 "WOW"

  • I'd like to silverfuck Darcy.

  • @MrShaneobueno

    Haha! Oh man...

  • @MrShaneobueno it wasnt Darcy- it was Ginger ;-)

  • @MrShaneobueno no you wouldnt, trust me you wouldnt *glares out her mugshot 2011*

    "cringes"

for the love of god take my advice

  • Fucking Jimmy Chamberlin! My god, that was relentless.

  • I love how it goes into the Doors near the end. It fits so well! I love his newer singing style. I loved the angst of the previous years, but it was so rough and unrefined compared to the album.

    Great version!

  • 7:52 "I said im lost in space i dont know what tah DDOooooooo."That shit had me at hello.

  • *tear*

  • damn nice version

  • I don't know about you guys, but if I showed up to this big "reunion" tour performance and Billy just busted out the first chords of Silverfuck, I would shit my pants.

  • Actually, I would cream my pants.

  • @SR11089 i would cum...

  • @SR11089 Exactly how I felt when I saw then back in 07-- Jimmy played the drumroll that begins Cherub Rock and I nearly left my body, fully aware of the coming ecstasy in store. The distortion of that first riff sent me straight to the moon, pouring out all of the heaviness that it was meant for. The song (not to mention the whole show) blew my world apart, to put it short, and it ended up catapulting me into full-blown Pumpkinmania after that night. I'll forever be a pumpkin at heart :]]

  • @SR11089 there are no amounts of "thumbs up"s on YouTube to describe how strongly I agree with you.

  • Great version, but they totally missed the "bang bang you're dead" part.

  • that only even "existed" during the siamese dream tour lol

  • it was in the recorded version. However, it has been a tendency to segue into another song in the middle of Silverfuck for him. He used to do "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" during the Siamese Dream tour.

  • ahh i see

  • Yes he did.

  • ..its a great song nevertheless despite the lesser angst..i still prever tha this song on viewphoria anytime...now that was kickass my favorite part was went they inclide jackboot at the end

  • is he a freemason ?

  • billy is my god but seriously this one didnt have half as much energy as @ pinkpop. But jimmy's always on the money!

  • Are you seriously bashing the band for being to TIGHT?!

  • yeah!!!silverfuck!!!yeah!!!billy, ginger, jimmy,jeff!!!yeah!!!real fucking rulez!!!

  • his voice sounds and is awsome. dont be a bitch mister

  • well, billy's no phil anselmo or that guy from cannibal corpse..

but sure, he can scream and extremely rare to see billy growl.

if he really wants to growl, he would do it straight into your fucking face!

when it comes to technicality of music.. smashing pumpkins are into the alt-prog category.. and not into metal. sorry

    MisterMisanthropy.

Go get a life, ok? you fucking retarded

    C U N T!

    smashing pumpkins for life!

  • this is so fucking good!

  • Rock Magic.

  • in like the middle of the song it gets SOOOO intense i love it

  • utyo:

at the begining of the show (today) Billy smiles with shining eyes because they were at the first shows of the new era and it was a very nervous time before the fortcoming cd Zeitgeist. They knew, how important the reaction of the crowd is and the classic fans of the "new" Pumpkins. I saw them at Novarock in Austria they were just like here. But later in january 2008 in Vienna they were in very good mood. I think they realized that people still need them...Awsome band still rulez!!!

  • what you said is so fucking true. i saw them august 07 at leeds festival. they fucking rocked

  • a fantastic performance of a beutifully written song.... love it!!!

  • awesome!!!

  • why do they look so bored there not smiling or anything

  • shoegaze

  • yeah I know its such a happy song x_X

  • watch them play it at pinkpop around siames dream era youl get what i mean

  • yeah, its an amazing live version at pink pop

  • billy didnt fire anyone besides jimmy...darcy quit cause shes a drug addict..and james got high headed and sick of playing for billy and wanted to do his own thing.

  • Out-fucking-standing. I wish those guys would never get old. I can't picture music without them. And I agree, kick ass lineup now. I wouldn't want Iha or D'arcy back now. They'd just be a detriment.

  • I sort of agree. I think the fact that Billy and Jimmy went ahead without them (although i believe Billy said he would welcome either one back at one point), shows that this "new" Smashing Pumpkins is not a nostalgia act. Plus it contains the 2 people who recorded the bulk of Siamese Dream - Corgan and Chamberlin. They are as much the Pumpkins as the "classic" 4-piece with James and D'arcy.

  • He has mad composure,i would be flippin' my shit.

  • that blew my mind

  • Who really knows who/what broke up Original Pumpkins, but this version shows current lineup kicks ass! James immediately left the stage and straight to his limo the night of the final Metro concert without saying a word to Billy or Jimmy. Who knows.

  • the doors

    pink floyd

    led zeppelin

    smashing pumpkins

    the mars volta

  • i agree^^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! w00t!

  • him and iha wore dresses back in the day

  • did you ever think billy corgan dresses and does such wierd shit on purpose?

he doesnt wanna be like everyone else..

he doesnt wanna be his old self

    hes a new billy.

    and i still love it.

  • Billy's vocal delivery is unmatched.

  • cocaine is a hell of a drug.

  • ccccccocaine

  • Poetry in motion

  • I got into the pumpkins after they broke up, and

I thought zeitgeist was pretty good. Gish and Mellon Collie still are my favorites, but Billy certainly isnt selling out. I kinda wish the other band members were still here though. I miss Iha's guitar playing. Now if they came out with Machina 3, that would be selling out >.>

  • thats it , they are great . now its not cool abandon them .Still did us some good and are still going ! well fuck off you take yourself too seriously . TWAT

  • I totally got lost in the ending - great version of this song.

  • Billy, Unapreciated guitarist, deserves the respect. This video speaks for itself. insane

  • I got paralyzed by watching this, great!

  • you are fucking embarrassing

  • Trisha Yearwood - Xxx's and Ooo's (An American Girl).mid

  • um.....what?? O_O never comment here again with your inbred hillbilly music, this is creative and artistic..country is not

  • ..dannynanner, i have to agree with you. I have been a huge pumpkin fan since 1990, Gish being my fave, but Corgan has always had a huge fookin ego!! How can he sack his band apart from Chamberlain and still call it the pumpkins? Whats with the fookin dress ? Pretentious c**t!!!!

  • And I guess the power of the media has made you believe that they're "desperate to sell out." First off, mellon collie alone could support the entire band for the rest of their lives; second, Corgan is still very passionate about music. He writes a new song practically every day, music is his life. He's not trying to sell out, he just wants to make music for complaining fuckers, like you lot, to enjoy. But you don't deserve it.

  • maxkorn, sorry I hurt your feelings.

  • See, not having the original members is not what even bothers me about this video or this reunion... It's the way this shit is performed, and the uninteresting people he chose. I mean, watch a live "Silverfuck" video from 1994, and then watch this. See what I mean? Give me a guitar and let me on stage with Billy Corgan and I will remind him just how to fuck shit up live like he used to do before he apparently turned 80 or something.

  • damn pretentious! corgan and chamberlin are impressive musicians!forget the look, people never are like we want them!

  • Think he's going for a Ziggy Stardust look, forgetting lack of a mullet will just make him look like Ghandi? You're right about his ego, he's nuts.

  • I wanted to love this, but I was disappointed that they're playing it this way. The way they played it back in the day (especially on Vieuphoria) was mindblowing!

    I miss it.

    Still pretty good, though.

  • jimmy is a fucking beast!!!

  • Trippy...

    [:

  • Buh

  • Listen to Once in a Lifetime live @ Budokan

    [:

  • going home now (need my daily dose of Siamese Dream)

  • you're right... i miss the time when you feared for your life but it was the best kinda fun.

  • Billy once said...Rock is dead...well in my opinion for now these days, he´s right!...well, you can tell by the crowd these days, standing still, listening...talkin´shit about the weather and what´s so practical about havin´ a washin´machine, BUT don´t FEEELLL the music, look at the crowd in the 90´s, you were glad you came out a live when the show was over but during the show you and all the others were one with the band...

  • True good rock is dead... I think music is to easily made these days. People just keep putting out the same crap over and over. I think that we will never see another movement like we saw in the early 90's with Nirvana, Pumpkins, Peril Jam, AIC, STP and all the bands from then. In Seattle it rocked you had amazing bands playing night

  • after night, doing crazy sets. Even if rock is dead I still like seeing Billy playing. Billy and Jimmy are the Pumpkins and the new guys do good and so is the new stuff... even if its not like the old songs its still good...

  • there has always been, and will always be good music. you just won't be young anymore. separate nostalgia

  • Haha. Rock is still here. It's just called Metal now. If you look, that's were the spirit is.

  • n3r3m4c -- no.

  • the thing i hate about Metal is the fans... i love Zakk and Dime but there fans are so closed minded like if Zakk said Kurt Cobain was stupid (and he did that) or that Billy was stupid then all of his fans would shake there heads yes mindlessly. i love metal but the fans make me super mad.

  • I give it to them for experimenting a bit, but this was an overall disappointment. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting for actual proof that Billy is still busting out "bang, bang, you're dead..." after all these years, but it never came.

  • What did you expect then...?

  • Billy saying "Bang Bang your dead!" of course. lol

  • awesome song... i love how they went back to the original version, rather than drastically changing it like they did during performances throughout the 90s.

  • the difference btw rock am ring and rockn coke

  • Just awesome. Billy woke up a bit on that one

  • Great to hear that Billy scream again. Why doesn't he do it during his own songs anymore?

  • We've all heard the 90's versions (10 or 40 minutes, whatever) dozens of times already. Better or not, I think it's a very welcome modern change.

  • I think it's wonderful.

(And am just so glad that I have the record, all for myself...!!!!!!!!!)

  • Billy's voice has improved a lot since the 90's. He no longer sounds like a pack of feral cats going through a paper shredder. I'm sure that's how everyone else would describe his voice in the 90's, too.

  • wasnt that a good thing dave lol

  • Jeffs guitars just too quiet on this cut

  • Good jam. Billy Corgan looks stiff sometimes. Maybe he should ditch the cape. ;)

  • haha, it is a little ridiculous, especially since he seems like a pretty normal guy in person

  • Oops!! obviosly, I meant "saiD", and I was referring to cmorden...wise words! Stop complaining..these are Billy's emotions, and emotions make an awesome song though it's not technically perfect! Jimmy is incredible, here.

  • I like it. If you don't like it, I think Ashlee Simpson is lip synching an upcoming album, go listen to that.

  • you people are crazy Silverfuck 2007 sounds great.

  • ya rock on!

the lost in space jam rules!

  • with his hair went his talent. I saw them at the fillmore. SO SO SO SO BORING. and I love the smashing pumpkins.

  • shame on billy.

    he drove away his band,

    shaved his head,

    put on a cape,

and totally forgot what it was all about.

i can't for the life of me understand why they did away with the ending of this song.

watch when they played this at pinkpop 1994.

    blow your mind it will.

  • what the hell is everyone complaining about? billy's always, always, ALWAYS messed with this song in a live setting. that's what's so fun about it. it's got a pretty open//jammy structure that just begs to be fucked with.

parts of it were kinda lame, but parts of it were pretty awesome. jimmy's drumming is out of this world.

    i guess...stop crying over it. it's not "your" song. it's billy's song.

  • It's their quintessential jam song. There's like thirty different versions that have been played over the years. I've been enjoying the bootlegs of this tour IMMESURABLY more than the lethargic Machina shows. I'd put it behind only the Mellon Collie club tours and the Arising Tour in terms of quality of the performance.

  • hey go easy on the Machina comments. Those were my favorite performances.

  • You sai it!!! great! i love this one, anyway... ;O)

  • Nu-Pumpkins do Silverfuck "I'm lost in space I don't know what to do"

I am so undecided about this.

It kinda rocks but it's also kinda not the same (read: kinda lame)

the part where jeff and billy face each other and wail,

they're in the kimono and space cape,

it looks like two epileptic aliens trying to talk with each other through

    their strange guitar-shaped communication devices.

the cover of "the end" sounds better than the cover of silverfuck

then again that's just an opinion.

  • Ceci n'est pas les smashing pumpkins.

fuck you billy. if you want to play SP songs without the real band, don't disgrace the name.

  • he fucking wrote the songs, he can play them if he wants

  • to gozando

  • I love prog-hard rock.. thats why tunes like this and 'united states' and all the music from the band TOOL i love also. Its true this generation has got nothing on the last generation... early 90's saw the emergence of the smashing pumpkins, Tool, nirvana, pixies, PJ Harvey, Jeff Buckley etc all played great music that you want to buy an album of. I have not bought any album from a band who have started out in the 21st century because, hearing the music, i have no desire to.

  • You should try The Mars Volta, even though they began in 2001. They are worth several listens, especially their live recordings since they are extended jam versions of their studio material.

I really like SP and Tool myself, so that's why I make this recommendation to you.

  • i heard them on RaR the first time... couldn't turn off the TV while turning my sound system louder and louder :D.

But you can't say that all today's music is bad - i think only the hiphop "genre" suxx

  • :( i wanna see jackboot like on the vieuphoria one.. oh well this one was equaly as cool

  • generation of today dunno what silverfuck music means!

    hahahha!

    this genertaion sucks!

  • amen!

    i hate my generation!

i wish i was born ten years earlier. fuck this decade.

  • yeah i fully agree!music these days sucks ass, shame i wasnt born earlier too! :(

  • So true

  • True that. I'm 21 and as soon find a good old band they usually break up the next day.

  • welcome to 1993 again! oh my..

THE LAST GASP FOR A DYING GENERATION!

  • Amen. If I could go back to 1993, I would in a heartbeat!

  • So badass; I think it's just as out there as any performance the Pumpkins have done of this song. Going to be great seeing the at Virgin Fest this year!

  • yea it is, im goin 2 that 2

  • great but it didnt have the spaceyyy feeel like in the siamese dreams day

  • exactly what i was thinkin. i rekon a little more pumped up passion in the chorus woulda made me love this more. its one great performance, though. all those massive guitar fills inbetween made it sound way more origional.

  • Wow they merged part of The Doors 'The End' lyrics in to the song lol, that's so cool!

  • "its the last gasp for a dying generation"

    odd.........

  • i love the "the end"-part...

  • Billysvoice is better than anytime. like on the albums.

its really like in the 90's

  • Billy's voice sounds better than ever, you guys are all on crack

  • They are back!

  • so damn good to see the classics being jammed, but any of it sounds good!

  • WOW! FEELS LIKE 1993 AGAIN!

  • concerning about bills' voice from then and now-- i think, i hafta agree with curduroysleaze here..

  • I'd say he's singing with tour longevity in mind. He's most definitely not the Friggin Animal he once was. Nothing wrong with that.

  • True. A lot of my favorite lead singers are using a different style. Lets be honest, age will get you if nothing else does.

  • And actually a lot of people say the opposite...that Billy's live voice is better than ever. Throughout the whole show it sounded strong and self-assured.

I love D'Arcy and James Iha, but I have to say Ginger Reyes and Jeff Schroeder are perfect...

  • i mean if you are such a true pumpkins fan why would you ever down billy..people change and they get older you asshole...its been like 14 years since tristessa..i mean im sure your voice doesnt get stronger as you grow old you fuckhead

  • his vocals aren't nearly as strong as they used to be. what a shame. by the way, before someone starts the usual web-drama this statement is coming from a fan since the first Tristessa single came out on Sub Pop. Also, there's major chemistry lacking in Billy and the new guitarist.

  • THE END live...so fucking amazing!!!!!

  • awesome*

  • i liked it more than the vieuphoria one, surprsingly enough... the guitar playing made it alot more interesting

    regards

    SP
