  • hey now dont go dissin mambo no 5 and whoomp there it is...those r good songs.

  • Dam right music today sucks !!! thank to MTV !! So many good blues and jazz band out there ... where his the next Clapton ..... John Mayer not so bad exellent blues man but he has to play girlly pop song to get notice and then play some blues WTF ???

  • i agree with you and I am only 17 but a big park of it is what they teach us in school its all about noting we need to know. Not History, History is the most impornent thing we can learn and we dont learn it I learned more over last summer just watching the history channel then i did in 2 years of school.

  • I am only 23 and I agree with you.

  • Craig I'm 27 and am already sick and tired of main stream media. TV in the UK is based around talent shows and reality TV that as you rightly say 'teaches' you nothing. I mainly watch sports now because at least that isn't fake... Well WWE is an exception but I dint watch that anyway!

  • Probably because most artist (and I say that loosely) get picked up by corporate sponsors and promoted to push a mindset that drives the docile masses to think in certain ways. Talent is no longer appreciated as what ever the current "fad" dictates.

Search "The Entertainment Industry Exposed" on youtube and watch. This won't let me attach the link for some reason.

  • right on...I've given up on radio. Just talkback now.......and I'm 25!

  • Hey Craig, I just want to let you know I stumbled onto your channel by accident and I love every video of yours that I've watched so far. I agree with just about everything you have to say.

I'm part of the younger generation (I'm 19) and I completely agree with what you said about the garbage that is mainstream today. You basically took the words of my mouth with the part about heavy metal bands.

  • I'm thrilled to hear this. My hope is that more younger people will wake up and make a change in the world, not only in entertainment. Keep fallowing the truth and help pave the way for a better world. Thanks for your comment.

  • I like rap/hiphop but yeah the crap that is shoved down our throats did you see the grammys

  • hehe, I don't watch TV anymore. :)

  • All of this is being done in purpose, the people in charge of the medias want to keep people's mind on the lowest level possible, divert them from the real talents, the real issues in this world.

Looking at American Idol... They want all their candidates to look a certain way, sing and move a certain way, they dont give a shit about talent really.

Im sure the Beatles themselves would not pass the audition test in American Idol...

People can find real talent here on Youtube, Myspace and such.

  • heavy metal music is the only real music thats being created at this time...

  • i totally agree with you craig I'm only 20 years old and i just TOTALLY agree. I only listen to older music, because the *sound* is just fantastic. So amazingly creative and no matter how many times you played a song like that, it just stays fantastic.

Just got home, listened in the car to some pink floyd songs, like the really old stuff... just so creative, beautiful music.Next, listen to some james brown or some nina simone...i'm feeling sad about the modern music.. How would it be in 2020?

  • I'm just so glad that we still have all the old music and that there are easy ways to download it. It's all we have these days. Led Zeppelin baby!, oh, and Supertramp!

  • Craig, Jesus, your awesome, I love the last 30 seconds! and I know there definitely is!!!! some embarrassing shit out there!, Cheers brother!

  • the Andy Griffith Show, come on! that was a freakin' great show!!!!

  • HAHHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAA, ooop! there it is.. oop! there it is! HHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the 3 stooges and the Flintstones are awesome

  • You sound like my dad

  • Oh, well I guess you're one of them... :)

  • No I'm not, even though I'm young, I agree with you. I don't like that super-loud metal music or those gangsta-rap songs. Some of them I do like but I really try to diversify. I like oldies too and I'm not just saying that. My dad is just like you I mean.

  • Cool. I didn't mean to offend you. I get a few trolls on here and sometimes I jump the gun. You sound like my Son, and that's a good thing.

  • when I think of a band after all these decades or an album that really has meaning I tend to go back to the Boston album...

  • I totally agree...alot of music today has no taste...and no class....

  • I'm 25 yrs old and I believe I have a diverse taste in music.

Though, I have to agree that most of the music coming out today is just rehashed garbage with no message to speak of.

I mean musicianship has been kicked to the curb since the early 90's and only a small percentage of modern artists are great these days. "Muse" would be an example of an amazing modern rock band.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. Today's mainstream music is just sad. Now I'm 14, but I listen to a LOT of music from the 80s and 90s. My favorite bands are Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, and Radiohead.

  • But that problem goes away after 10 years or so. That great music comes back and stays forever. I don't see that happening with today's music. Let's not leave out The BeeGees!! One of the greats. :)

  • Too bad you're not my next door neighbor, we'd have to fire up the ole 45. Anyway, you've hit the nail right on the head. The younger generations have lost touch with what really good music is. I have at least introduced my children to the music that I grew up with, Lawrence Welk , the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ACDC and etc. It is a shame that a lot of good artist are pushed to the side for the flashy hip hop, bubblegum music that we hear today.

  • On the other hand, we had the same problem in our day, but it was nothing like it is today.

  • heeheh. you should watch a video I posted in my CraigTube channel called "an evening with a friend". We broke out all the 45's and had some good old fun.

Click on "show all videos" to find that video.

  • I did when you first posted it. I was kind of jealous, but I got over it and then put the wireless headphones on and listened to music. By the way, excellent job on 'Mandy'. My oldest daughter loved it too. It goes to show that you practice what you preach.

  • ALSO....you could have saved a 10 minute video by making a 5 second video that says "I don't like rap, American idol, or the celebrity apprentice"

  • Well the American Idol thing has nothing to do with the talent. I think I was talking about the television and it's tendency to string us along through an hour just to accomplish two or three goals that could have happened in ten minutes. The talent on AO is amazing. Some of those kids can REALLY sing, and I've gotten emotional at times.

  • I never said I don't like rap, although I don't. That doesn't mean that it's crap. There are a lot of great poets out there that can deliver their words in a powerful way through rap. What we like or dislike doesn't have anything to do with what is amazing, and what is garbage. Watch a great jazz act, like Dave Brubeck. The guy's dead, but if you can't see the utter talent and musicianship, and appreciate that this kind of thing doesn't happen today, I'd have to declare you as in need of fixing.

  • Craig....I'll be saying the same thing when I'm your age, according to my genre. There are people that will say the stuff you consider "good" or "great" is SHIT or "garbage" compared to Mozart, Beethoven, Shakespearean plays. I agree there are a lot of non-talented entertainers in our current world...but it is ALL relevant. Each generation will critique its previous one...Think beyond your century

  • well... Here's the thing.

I don't "date" or judge music by it's time. What is good is good in it's own right. And "good" is not subjective to opinion. One can dislike music that is Good. One can like music that is Bad. Good music, like the geniuses you mentioned above, plus the ones I referred to in my video, is good because it was created out of talent... True art at it's best. As I said, I don't judge music by it's era. That has nothing to do with what is good, and what is garbage.

  • Today's music industry is likened to a continuous infomercial. Buy it now and you'll hate it in a month or so. There's no more longevity to music. Classics like Mozart, Beethoven, and the stuff of the 50's and 60's are still talked about and listened to, not only by old guys, but people of all ages. And you still hear it on the radio. There is no "classic" value in much of today's music, and if it turns out that there is, we need to look into who's poisoning the water, and dumming us down.

  • There is great music out there today... Modern and up to date. It's just not what's being "fed" to you by the bug guys. They want a new thing every month. The conveyor belt has been sped up and shortened. "Buy this today, hate it tomorrow, and buy a new one to replace it. They don't want music to last. It takes a band a year to make a new album. They want immediate sales and quick Boredom and turnaround. Hence the crap we get served to us and the talent that is long lived goes unnoticed.

  • Point taken. Maybe I misinterpreted you a little but you've cleared it up for me. But I think basically we are on the same side here haha. I think that people like some stuff like "whoop there it is" because it just is SO dumb. Kind of like a corny comedy movie. Just outrageously stupid, so its enjoyable....I don't know why we are like that haha

  • Cool. Sorry I ranted. It was late. :)

  • You only put this up so you could say you were born in 66 so people will stop thinking you were born in 36 :P Ya it's all true..where is the next Elvis, Beatles, Led Zeppelin? The White Stripes and Daylight for Deadeyes are amazing though so that's great that there's something at least.

  • Hi Craig. Just 2 quick points.

    1. It's called death grunt or death growling. Extreme metal bands usually don't claim to be "singing". It is what it is. It suits the style of music. Either you like it or you don't.

    2. You mean "human species". Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid etc are races while humans are a species. It might seems like an odd thing to bring up but "human race" is one of those misnomers that really gets on my nerves.

    Otherwise great video. ;)
