dammit...watched this and went and bought ANOTHER ONE!...oh well never such thing as "too many" SS's Best RC pedigree ever. Have had them since I was a kid in the late 70's and they are nothing but a 10 on the fun meter. Not the fastest, not the most maneuverable, not the most scale, not the most affordable...BUT they are most certainly the most pure joy in a big boy toy you can pack into a day. Good job guys with the video, you're doing a good service to our friends at Tamiya. Spread the joy!

Hello, i buy 2 tamiya 6.6v 1100 batteries but i dont found the battery charger for that type of battery. Please, what can i make? thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english
To be told this was made in Wales, to me was as awesome as the video itself! At first I assumed it was Arizona, but soon the antics of the cars and the ( I assume the driver!) people involved, made me decide it had to be from nearer to home!
Beautiful, competent cars, superb location (lovely powdery sand, no buildings to disrupt scale), well-thought-out videography and good editing; great video! This should be a lesson to us all. Has anyone else noticed that Tamiya owners produce some of the most imaginative rc car vids on You Tube? 5 stars from me!
i'm another one that bought a SS after i saw this video! i live near the beach in australia so it is perfect for me. anyone that wants one, or something similar, the rough rider has just been rereleased! this has same chassis as the sand scorcher, and a buggy shell (rere is called the "buggy champ") sand scorcher rerelease could be coming too....
can someone explain to me what makes tamiya so great? im interested in old rc technology but all i know is tamiyas seem so different from other rc brands. they use alot of metal in their cars compared to the new stuff, i was wondering why? what batteries and motors do they run?
When I think of Tamiya dune buggies this is what comes to mind. Excellent vid. Great paint jobs. A high speed camera would provide more "inbetween" frames for this type of filming.
Outstanding vid...I'm also in the process of restoring my SS. What motor are you using? Did you convert to B/L? and if so how did you deal with the gears in the gearbox? Or did you modify to get a 540 to fit...? Great stuff.
thats an sweet vid dude! i just got myself a few old tamiyas, wild one, super champ and still looking for a sand scorcher. i made a little rc vid just of me and my bro, check it out if you have the time
Its nice to finally see a movie with some nice music instead of the other crap you keep hearing :)
Love the video, would love to go ride through the sand with my rc car but they say that its really bad with a nitro car, any tips if there are some ways to protect the car to go drive through the sand?
I still would really love to know the first song. Such a great video, I have watched it like 10 times in the past week. Keep going back, My dream RC car right there!
I have had a lot of people asking what the music is on this video, particularly the track that starts around 3m20s. The answer is External Key by the Audioholics. This particular version is the Gabriel and Dresden mix. Enjoy...
Carlsberg don't make RC car vids. But if they did........
Awesome. Best RC vid on You Tube. This is the RC version of the classic motorbike movie On Any Sunday. Total enjoyment from start to finish (well, 'til about 30 seconds from the finish enyway ;-))
Hey, great vid. I just got an SS and need to find more aggresive paddles for it like the green one has at 2:45, can you or anybody help????

What body has that red one got it looks so real.

@zishkabob
It's a modified Tamiya body. Monster beetle, blitzer beetle or sand scorcher.

In a lot of the shots they look like real cars. Only when you see sticks or grass can you see their actual size.

Simply the best Scorcher vid on the net, imo! How much damage do the chassis sustain on average for a day on the beach like that.
Just restoring my SS for the shelf, but I will have to get a runner too, I think.
