6.9L IDI, 7.3L IDI, 7.3L Powerstroke, 6.0L Powerstroke and the 6.4L Powerstroke were all designed and built buy International. The new 6.7L Powerstroke is a FORD motor now
@strumem90 Dont want to be rude but international only built the 6.0's and the 6.4's once emissions came into play international navistar had contracted a European company to design them because they had already been dealing with emission controlled motors
@deadlviper Navistar built the 6.9L IDI, 7.3L IDI, 7.3 Powerstroke, 6.0L Powerstroke and 6.4L Powerstroke...the 6.7L now is a European designed diesel built by Ford N.A and Ford Euro....thanks
@jpalme2005 Agreed....give me a 7.3L over any other Ford diesel made! 6.0L is what I think killed Fords reputation a little on there SD trucks.....but I think there gaining it back...I wont drive nuttin but a Ford truck....
@jpalme2005 i agree with you on the 6.0L. 6.4L i have to disagree as I drive one for work, and it given no troubles at all. and as for the 6.7L i couldn't tell you, they sound nice, I have never driven one yet, nor do I know anybody with one. The 6.7L has only been out for a few months, that would make me very weary to purchase one so new. I wish Ford would just settle on a dang motor..lol Cummins has remained almost unchanged for nearly 20 years
@strumem90 ok the 6.4 is better than the 6.0. and about the engine, cummins and the duramax have remained the same... why cant ford just pick one? i wish there werent all these emission standards. than again. no matter how much they cut emissions, we are still not helping the environment so why does it even matter. ya know?
@jpalme2005 I know its all emissions shit now...Im in SW Ontario and we have a Bi-Annually Emissions test our vehicles, 1988 and newer. Its stupid mind yah. As far as Cummins goes, same basic block yes...it went from 12 to 24 valve and a bigger stroke *(5.9l to 6.7l). Duramax hasn't changed and I do like them.
Man, that is one sweet truck! I will be also looking for an 02-03 with the 7.3, from everything I've read and heard, those engines are bullet proof. How do you like yours?
