I was at the recording of this, invited, along with a load of mates, by the band themselves at a gig the previous night at Northampton Roadmender! You can see the back of my bonce at 36 seconds in.
I remember watching this, a few days away from my 14th birthday! I adored the LongPigs and made a LongPigs clock in Year 9 technology, haha! Really fancied Crispin 'Spin' Hunt, as well... xD
Love, Love, Love this album, played it to death and still do today.... i was totally gob smacked when someone pointed out that Richard Hawley used to but in Longpigs and what do you know, there he is! thanks for the upload! :D
It was a second appearance on TFI I think they played blue skies and ended the show with the frank sonata over the credits. Buggered if i can find it anywhere, I know it exists coz i wore the tape out
Re-downloaded their albums after having them and lost them in the past and WOW what great songs they had. Tfi Friday also a legendary show, so much better than Ross or Norton of today. Longpigs have the songs to be around today, top tracks!!
First heard this song on an early pre-release Radio 1 live session with Steve Lamaque- it was a performance that matched any I've ever heard, as powerful as Nirvana with beautiful dynamics
Get Loaded in the Dark hits the Coronet on Thursday 1st April 2010 and is set to be another sell-out episode!
The incredible Black Grape will headline their first ever Live Show since 1997, including amazing performances from The Sunshine Underground, Young Fathers, Jakwob and Grum!

It is such a tragedy this band does not exist anymore. They had such great songs. both albums are gems. Like a lovechild between Jeff Buckley and early radiohead...super talent
Totally agree, on and on is another classic. TFI Friday had some great years during the indie period. Hearing this song reminds me of all the Shine compilations i've got, remember those ?
I loved these years, great indie bands on TFI Friday/Top of the pops. Great compilation albums - Shine. TFI Friday was superb back in the day, ideal viewing for having a few drinks before then going out. Went downhill once Evans got Boyzone/Spice Girls and other crap on the show (He used to slate all these pop groups before). When they had indie bands on every week it was great
It's a shame trendy bands like the Arctic Monkeys give the Sheffield rock scene a bad name because ten years before that particular act made its debut the Longpigs produced a great pop-rock album far superior to anything the Monkeys will ever put their name to.
Well said up the longons - 'cupntin hrs' needs to get back out there and sing a few more bloody brilliant songs I say so I do very much so I say so soon.
Crispin made his songs impossible to sing at karaouke (unless you've gat a ferret stuck up your bottom)
Lingpogs rule man - utd and weds join in arms... praise be praise be.
Dont ever stop at the park inn though (sunday bitches lock yo outta room if you take up the late breaky)
I was here at TFI friday, I loved them. Was only young so unfortunately couldn't get a pass to the bar. Nice to know people still paying interest in them. He signed an autograph for me but i lost it. Damn!!!
that's because women govern what gets put on tv now. they're all the big shots in the tv companies. haven't you noticed? that's why we get loads of reality tv and endless shows about houses, food and relationships. the BBC are the worst culprits. so much for consultation and social inclusion! ha! men have been watching less and less tv for the last five years...
i cant say i have noticed as im one of these blokes you pointed out who barely watches tv, as its generally shit lol and i wouldnt be surprised that ur reasons are right. whos idea was it to let women vote? everything has gone down hill since then ;) lol
does anyone know the chord sequence for between verse lines? ie 1.18 --> 1/21? If you do, please share.:)the only tabs I can find for this song seem to leave that bit out.
thanks so much for this!! i loved this song as soon as i heard it all those years ago! and its been so long, still listen to it and still love it a very big two thumbs up
No I have the whole show this is from and there's no Frank Sonata. I have this cos it's the show I went to the recording of. This song was the playout.
Thanks for posting this, great to see it again. Do you have the Frank Sonata from this show, if I remember they played out with it and it was awesome.

@petermuskett
Frank sonata wasn't written when this came out.
I remember they played Blue skies in 1999 to support Mobile home so they might have ended the show with the Frank Sonata then
