  • Viņš ir mans brālis, yo!!!!!!

  • So nice! Perfect interpretation ;)

  • A little jumpy at parts :(

  • for some reason every recording of this song has weird background noise

  • @Imbetterthanmost Actually, i kind of agreed with you. haha...

wuohhh~~~ is it haunted 0.0' lol. Joke

  • it's quite bad, actually

  • Non legato?

  • judgin by thew video he looks like hes not playing but only doing a kung fu blcok ... Im sorry for my english..

  • the very best - absolute quality in comparison to guitar, violin and orchestral renditions. This is how I played it.

  • I listened to this and the first time I heard it I pictured a 1940s film, in sephia and just about wept at it's beauty. Truly brilliant

  • I am far from convinced that the balance is consistently correct throughout this performance.

  • Hmm, feels a little hurried - both in tempo and could've lingered on some of th chords for greater effect.. just me?

  • Am I crazy or does the piano sound a little out of tune in the high registers at the end?

  • @nixonburgers yes, sure, you're right

  • @nixonburgers yes, sure, you 're right.

  • για τους δυο ’μας...

  • so beautiful...

  • this piece gives me chills :) i always want to cry when i hear it

  • Beautiful piece, which even has some jazzy parts by the way..which is cool.

  • So beautiful. I was able to memorize this one but this guy is so smooth.

  • indescribable

  • I wonder what emotions ravel had when he was writing this piece?

  • @Kamekohime hmmmm perhaps sadness? :)

  • ughhhh the last section is so hard to get that smooth bravo

  • I woudl suggest to have less staccato at the beginning of the playing. For the rest, bravo.

  • @MrEbaby2010 Playing this piece, you're supposed to seperate the voices like an orchestra would do (even if the orchestra version was published 11 years later). The staccato is actually written in the piano score, but you also have to use the pedal to play the other voices properly. By pressing the pedal half-down, Shimkus uses a very neat trick to get the staccat impression, but also keeps the sound of the other voices. I think it works great for this piece!

  • I was given this piece by my piano teacher and at first I hated it but then had the idea to listen to it on Youtube and I'm glad I did! Vestard Shimkus really brings this piece to life with enough tenderness and passion to make me cry! A little put off by the coughing in the background though :) A beautiful piece

  • fucken beautiful plx

  • wow... i didn't like this piece at all before I listened to this performance. Moving.
