And i always wondered if cab calloway knew kid creole, and i just found a picture from them together in the 80's, so he did, and that aint strange because imo they have so much in common. I'm sure that August must have felt honored to work with cab calloway, and cab calloway must have loved to see someone who's keeping the style like the zoot suits and everything alive, if you know what i mean.

those arrangements and lyrics, though they were from the big band era, had not been heard in the pop realm and were so misunderstood and unappreciated. August was truly ahead of his time. I have every one of Kids albums and cherish them all. cherchez la femme!!

One of the funkiest bands of the 80's a combination of of funk ,Tim Burton, pee wee Herman , Big band and the thee fine  Dancers with soul. first time i saw them they blew the roof off all the Halloween parties of the 80's. wow crazy times KID Creole and the Coconuts.

Thanks, andyclass. My big regret is that I missed them in london in 1982 by a week. I had been listening to them nonstop since 1980, when I happened on a "dance Ze dance" from Ze. Of course, they never made it to Arizona when I was here. :-(

I love Kid Creole his sound is very unique. The band kicks. However, why is it that Prince's name has to be brought up all the time - he owes this one and that one. ALL artists have influences! Prince has many influences but he is STILL UNIQUE. Haters sure can hate!
