One of the better cheap knockoffs, but the big problem is efficiency; that's why Castle partnered with Steve Neu to make their 1/8th scale and up motors. There's rarely any shortage of torque and performance for the cheaper motors (as long as they still have a sintered rotor -- most modern motors do), but heat can be a serious problem because the rotor will typically fail around 200F. >60mph on street or >45mph off-road and your runtime might be limited not by battery but motor heat.
Well if I were to make something like this today, I'd go with an even larger motor like the castle 1717 (if it fits -- check first) or one of the larger 15-size motors if you can still find them. That way maybe the fans wouldn't be as necessary b'cos a fan is one more thing to break.
whats the gearing your using? have you had anything go "bad" or break because of the 6s lipo and gearing your using? any upgrades? any recommended upgrades? I want to get 6s lipo for my car and am worrying if it;s worth it.
I've had arms break and I've replaced them with better third-party ones they have at most hobby shops (forgot the name but it's pretty well known). I'm also using very low gearing b'cos of the grass. It tops out just a little over 40mph.
How does that run on grass stock? And should I get this or the Summit? I want something that will be good on all terrains, but I think it's awesome how fast this thing goes. How good is it on different terrains and also can you take a Summit off a ramp?
what brand r ur batts and does how much mah your batts hav change the performance a lot? would 2x2s CORE RC lipo batts which r 3250mah each and r 7.4v each work ok with the mamba and neu motor? Plz reply thanx :)
Not sure about that brand, thunderpower, orion, etc. are the good brands, also if you want cheap they have the zippy brand from hobbycity in Hong Kong. But 3250mAH is a bit undersized, I would use 4000mAH minimum and 5000mAH if you can get it to fit in the battery bay.
Flightmax lipos I have two 3s packs running 6s, 10 minute run, half of the 5000mah capacity drained my mamba is @100degrees, bats @ 80 degrees and my motor @ 110 degrees
You should watch temps but as he said, 120-130 degrees on the grass, after 6-7 minutes, they also sell a small fan that works really well with the motor.
I notice many folks concentrating on "how fast" when running on wide open fields. My question is what battery value is best for racing at a track? Having the power at your disposal but also being able to keep it on the ground. I have the brushless edition w/ 1/2 offsets and bowties but have not purchased LiPos yet, any suggestions. Its my first electric.
Just get a good pack. 4 cell is easier to drive but 6 cell is all the power you can get.. so maybe start with 4 cells and then learn to controll the 6 cells as you will have loads more power when you actually need it.
Basically the whole video, the video starts maybe 20 seconds into the run and ends when the truck starts to lose speed noticeably from the LiPo cutoff kicking in.
yo i have another question see i already got the brushless edition on order and now it comes with the 17mm splined hexes... tho but... from a stand still will that do a backflip going from zero to 100% throttle?
Depends on how it's setup, it could if you have good batteries and a lower the punch control, but if the punch control is too low you might end up destroying the transmission.
i love the brushless stuff ive got a bandit vxl and i know its faster mot of the time but i just love the noise of nitro and how you dont need to change batterys. Although i have been considering converting my revo to brushless do you think it is worth it. I just have a hard time tuning it and stuff, also i feel like its not very reliable. If i were to convert it what kind of motor and esc would you recomend? (this one seems pretty nice)
if i were you i would get the teckno rc motor mount, and teckno battery plate, a feigao 8xl or if you want crazy cheap speed a kb45xl (what i have), get a mamba monster max and either 4 or 6 cell lipo 5000 mah or more and your set!
or not even on a track anywhere!

My HPI Vorza seems faster and more stable than the E-Revo! I'd beat it in a race on a track!

only 6~7min? something is wrong with yours.
On my Savage Flux HP with 5000mah setup... i get near 30 minutes.
With ESC set to cut off Lipo @ 3.3v
btw... e-revo and savage flux have same motor/esc.

Are EZRun Brushless Motors good from hobbypartz? And how fast would it be if I put 2 3S Lipos 5000mAh in my E Revo?

B'cos it's on grass, the runtimes are about 1/3 to 1/2 what you'd get on dirt.
