There's no way to justify showing up at a show without a ticket. Period. The Dead said so many many many times. It ruined the scene; it clogged the roads; it created a public health and safety hazard.

Fucking wait your turn. Pay for a ticket. Have enough $ to feed yourself & get back home, or you really have no business being there!

in reality, it was Deer Creek, an amphitheater. you can hear the musik just fine from outside. I remeber looking back toward the fence in the first set and thinking wtf!

Same shit happened @ star lake in 92. Great venue the boys only got to play once because of idiots jumpin the fence. Even worse, @ star lake, if you stood on top of your car in the lot behind the ga lawn field you could actually see the band

I toured those last few years and went to every show. The problem was not the cops and not the tour kids. It was the fact that the crowds had just become way to huge. Thats why there is gatecrashers becuase there is a lot of people with no tickets getting frustrated. I missed the Vermont show that summer, the one everyone got into, and becuase of that I saw no shows at all that whole last summer. There very last concert I sat with my finger up in one spot ALL DAY and did not get in.

i was at that show that day.. my buddy lived 1/2 mile down the road from deer creek.. the cops were acting like complete dickheads ALL DAY. people were saying there was going to be a riot. but of course with 60,000 ppl there and only 15,000 tickets, what did they expect? we partied our asses off at Pine Lakes the next day & the cops were dicks there too. There is a reason everyone is booing & the gatecrashers were cheered.
