fantastic demo! I am a MASSIVE Duran Duran fan and I have heard a heap of their demo's but they didn't release them!! My favs are Beautiful Colours, Berlin, Dream Nation and Magic Bus.

I love many DD tracks that were left on the studio floor, but I think this one sounds too much like an OMD track. I can just hear OMD's Souvenir or Joan of Arc throughout this song. Maybe it's just in the mix of this demo but that's always been my opinion of this one, it sounds more like OMD than DD.

This sounds like a demo for "On Melancholy Hill" by Gorillaz. But then, the lead singer on the DD demo for "See Me Repeat Me" sounded just like Damon Albarn to me. Maybe I just have Gorillaz on the brain. *sigh*

personally, i like the liberty album although of course, it isn't perfect. It was something different and I really like Downtown, sounds evil and rough

@Jacko032k First of all none of those songs you mention are bloody dirge-this is not Madonna we're talking about & the rest! 'Liberty' is a lovely song & nothing on that fine, underrated & wholly wrongly recieved & derided album is wrong-it's 'Seven & Ragged Tiger' that's the imperfect one, with rather weak & dated approach & the songs don't mean much outisde '83 & not much inside it either-'Union Of The Snake' being the worst, bless it. Great artists always leave off top songs, but we get xtra!

@TheMjblades: my "dirge" comment was relative - the tracks I listed *are* dirge compared to Dream Nation, yet DN got the chop. And no matter how badly you want it to be otherwise, Liberty will never be remembered or celebrated like Seven and the Ragged Tiger is (despite its flaws).

@Jacko032k The fact 'Liberty' is disliked over the silly 'Seven & Ragged Stripey' has everything today with timing, a fickle fan base & the general consensus that 80s bands/singers shouldn't move beyond the 80s. If 'Liberty' had been 1983-and all 5 were together, it would get the same amount of love that gets from fans-likewise if their 3rd album had been done in 1990, the reaction would be the same that 'Libery' got. UK artists are always bouyed up their 1st few years, then dumped afterwards.

I don't understand, DD has many good unreleased songs..why ?? Many of these songs sound like these new bands now, I think the have many hidden hits, that they put aside. Sucks for me.
