LA MAS ELEGANTE Y EXUBERANTE VIUDA ALEGRE........CON UN CONTONEO.PROPIO DE ELLA SOLO Y SOLO DE ELLA QUE ERA LA QUE TENIA LA VOZ ADECUADA PARA EL CONTONEO ADECUADO........TODO UN LUJO SOBRE EL ESCENARIO...............BELLISIMA.........ADORABLE......RICA Y SOBRADA DE GLORIA VOCAL..........
I loved Joan Sutherland in this role and the production as conceived and led by Richard Bonynge seems so Edwardian and witty as Strauss surely intended it. Other productions seem so bland compared to this one.
Wow! This must be quite rare. Sutherland was still mostly at her greatest vocal shape in 1978 and she shows that in this amazing Hanna's entrance. She also looks surprisingly young at 52. Maybe Sills' video of this aria is a little more cheerful, but Sutherland's has so much elegance and natural joy! ;-)
Oh my God, you are right!! I´m so sorry for the mistake. This performance is from Australia, I´not sure if it was Melbourne or Sydney. Highbaritone, thank you for correcting me.
The production is by the Australian Opera and was performed in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House and not in the much smaller Opera Theatre.
