@tamtszyau1988 I don't know. I use a noise gate at the end of the chain. It's noisy without it but I can't say what causes the noise. Seems like mostly the overdrive. \m/
Hey! I suppose you use these gear to get the sounds u have in the beginning of the vid right? I would like to know if you play through a clean amp? or is your amp already cranked a little?
@BenNelsonLim I am not using the board at the beginning. It's just me playing through a tiny crate practice amp and it's not that loud, being recording through the tiny crap mic in my Canon Powershot point and shoot camera. Which was unfortunately all I had when I started to make videos. \m/
Hey I started play guitar just under a year ago and I have two guitars, and I wanted to get a pedal for under 80 bucks, I was thinking about a wah pedal any suggestions?
Does the order of the pedals effect your sound? Cause I have a MXR distortion+ and a MXR 10 EQ and then a few other effect pedals. Is there a patterns to putting it together or is it just what I prefer? Another words....does the order of the pedals effect your sound? Nice review btw and thanks for reply
@GuitarGod94XxXx Typical order is Filter effects(Wah,Phaser)-Compressor-Overdrive & Distortion-Equalisers-Pitch Effects(Harmonisers, Pitchbenders)-Modulation Effects(Flanger, Chorus)-Level controllers(Gates)-Echo Effects(Delay, Reverb) But you can always experiment. \m/
@ShredGuitarAcademy so this is the most common way pedalboard are set up? and wouldn't you put echo before the gate? or would the gate ruin the echo? thanks for reply
Mike...love the videos. You sound Canadian....AYE?
I like your pedalboard. I thought of something that may improve the design a little. Carpet the back of the board with a piece that is trimmed in the exact dimension of the board. Next carpet the front and overlap to the back. Staple and glue the carpet.
Now...this time....when you mount the handles....only go through the board and NOT the case. Pull the effects out of the case when you play. Ergonomically better for your feet I think. Peace!
@ninrocket The case is meant to be used as the board though, and I prefer it that way. There are little rubber feet at the front that put it on an angle. Plus I play in metal bands on beer, spit, vomit and you name it soaked stages. The plastic bottom of a case can be cleaned much easier than a carpet ;) And yes I am Canadian \m/
@ShredGuitarAcademy Hey Mike. I just picked up a used Stinger today via your recommendation, can you tell me sort of how it works? I know what it does but the knobs? Not so much... Why do you have the settings the way you do? Or is this one of those pedals that you just kinda have to tweak until you like it?
@Botdra Sorry for the late reply. I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with the amount of questions I get. The Stinger just helps to enhance certain frequencies to give you a better tone. There are too many variables to give you any advice on how to set it. Depends on what guitar you are using, the amp you are using and what you want to hear. I just turn it on and set it to whatever sounds best to my ears. But understand it's subtle. It's not an effect. It just enhances your sound.
@staple765 Well it would be kind of difficult to do a video that would do justice to the sound. The pedals on the board are talked about and if youre in the market for any of those I would suggest going and trying them out. Plus the board is just one component of the sound. You also have to consider the amp the guitar, string gauge and in my opinion most importantly the person playing. Total cost I'm guessing would be around $1000 with all the pedals. cables etc. The empty board probably $300
@jerrykane01 I had a board that I carpeted cut to fit into a premade case. When I get a chance down the road I will make another video either taking this one apart to explain more how to make one, or I may build another from scratch.
What is your opinon of Chris Isaak and the silvertones? :-) I really like the group quite a lot. They are superbly talented yet come across as very humble and approachable. And they put on a great live show. Every second of it is exciting.
That was a very nicely executed project. How would you cope with a complete power supply failure while on stage, such as in the middle of a large concert? Hopefully it would never happen but... what if?
@themainproblem I would just plug direct into the amp and make do. I barely use effects. I do a few volume swells that in a pinch I could do with the volume knob on the guitar. Everything else on the board is about giving me a better guitar tone and convenient access to silent tuning etc. That's the kind of thing that would maybe be a nightmare for someone like the Edge who majorly relies on effects for what he does but no big deal for me and what I'm currently doing with them.
I understand and it is probably a good strategy not to depend to heavily on these devices unless a full backup is available. And quickly. My finance and I went and saw Chris Isaak last night in Phoenix at the celebrity theater and it was an amazing show. Their mastery of the guitar was spectacular. It looked effortless. As far as musical showmanship goes what is the most stressful incident that you have ever been involved in or witnessed?

How many pedals does the DC brick power?
pantera2004hellbound 4 months ago
@pantera2004hellbound I think 7 9 volt and 3 18 volt. \m/
ShredGuitarAcademy 4 months ago
@pantera2004hellbound You can power 10-9 volts, if you use a 9 volt adaptor to power the unit. Then the three 18 volts outputs will power 9 volts.

@ShredGuitarAcademy That's cool man! Maybe you have a demo of how your pedals sound? Plus, do you then connect it to a clean or driven amp?

@ShredGuitarAcademy Sounds quite good for a practice amp lol.

Can you do a video of your Stinger vs. Sonic Stomp shootout that you did before you made your decision by any chance?

@Botdra Sorry but I can't. I sold the Sonic Stomp about a year ago.
