Alot of the Original Presto Studio graphics staff ended up working for Pixar animations who worked on the journeyman series, would be interesting to see them maybe create a cartoon based around the idea. but i doubt that those who still hold the rights would sell it off easily, they got shitty about a the journeyman chronicals when that first came up.
Call me crazy, but I think a good director and screenwriting team could make a fun movie out of this series. I almost would suggest Terry Guilliam or Robert Zemekis since they did time travelling movies. Damien Lewis (Lt. Dick Winters on Band of Bros) would be great as Gage Blackwood. I would get Stephen Colbert or Steve Carrell to do the voice of Arthur. But what do I know about casting?
Here here on the movie idea! Many times I've thought of that same notion. Still, I lack the money, let alone the crew, to pull off such a thing. Hopefully someday...
I don't know... I've seen many good games turned into bad movies. (Wing Commander, anyone?) But if they could get a good production team and a solid script, it could be good.
If not weinhold, then i agree that billy west would be a good choice...sure carrell and colbert are funny, but I just don't see them being right for that part
They could, but can you imagine how hard it would be to come up with a plot? I mean, Arthur is basically just a voice in the player's head, and Gage is the player. I mean, I've thought about how they could make a movie out of this, too, but I just couldn't think of how anyone could pull it off. I mean, the game is about time travel, which is cool, but It's not about anything cool like fighting Hitler in the past or going around to different times and stealing treasure.
Yeah, but you could write in some cooler, more action-oriented themes. You could create this whole new singular villain, one particular bad guy who presents a physical obstacle to gage. You wouldn't have to hear Arthur all the time, and Gage could be quick enough in the movie as he wouldn't need hints from Arthur as much. You could have one of the inhabitants of Atlantis be kind-of greedy and destructive to Gage's mission, for money or superstitious reasons. Alas, Video game movies are iffy.
There actually was a second part to my comment that was too big, so I was going to post it in the next comment, but it didn't copy for some reason. Which is good, because it contained an awesome idea that I wish to use. I thought that it would be a good idea to make a TV series. Start it out with like a three hour miniseries to summarize the three games (much like Battlestar Galactica), then go with the series from there.
Ah, well. I mean, you make good points either way. Video game movies are not, for the majority, all too great. I don't know why. I mean, I don't know what it is about the game that makes it so tough to translate into film. I think some makers are afraid of bastardizing it at the risk of pissing of fans and some bastardize it too much. But, a miniseries would give you fuller time to allow plot and character developments. I won't steal your idea.

I have a genius idea. You could cast Graham Jarvis as Sinclair and Michele Scarabelli is Michelle.
Oh.. it's been done?
K. How about Robert Hirschboeck and Victoria Morsel? It'd shatter box office records, I tellz ya.

THe main challenge is that movies are usually plot driven whereas games are driven by the gameplay. It doesn't always translate.

Hmm....I wouldn't get rid of Weinhold as Arthur...but the rest sounds good.

Actually, Billy West from Futurama would probably make a better movie version Arthur than Weinhold.

This game was so cool, I love the whole series. Where did you find this extra?

Just Google this game and you should find a site by Tommy Yune that archives all of this stuff.
