Im guessing you've never played a Bioware game before. Not the old ones at least.

All Bioware games HAVE pausing.

And if they didn't include this feature on the console versions it's because of console-whiners like you.

And as far as I know, there IS a pause function in console versions. You should use it. It's definitely more useful there than on the PC as the PC has MANY hotkeys, it doesn't need to rely on pausing.

uuhhmm that equipment is quite common...the shield is the cousland shield you get when playing as human noble...the armor can be found anywhere but the helmet looks like helmet of homelein or whatever it's called or it could also be the gray warden helmet but i don't think you get it so early in the game...think he's cheating on the xp though

The way this person plays is the reason it looks boring, or maybe they changed how it works on comps. I just set the tactics as their needed and play a single character until I have to heal the other, which makes the game pretty fun to me.

i think its like wow, i mean the combat is different but remember its not an mmorpg so in order to succeed through the game u must control ur party members and u can only play 1 player. other than that u still have a combat bar, talents, picking up gear, bosses. on a different scale but they do have similaritys enough to say "its like WoW a bit."

Do you always have to pause and choose who attacks who or can you just make your party attack automatically whoever they want?

You can kinda assign behaviour. The higher the lvl of your char the mmore tactics you can assign. For example u can set an archer charakter to "ranged!" so he'll try to keep distance automatically, avoids ae effects etc. Moreover you can choose how he should fight: E.g. If Enemy has 75% life use skill xy or if ally life drops lower than 50% cast a healing spell. You can script behaviour and when u figuered out how it works you generelly only pause when the situation is difficult.
