Why does everybody call the P-40 "Flying Tiger"? The name of the warbird is officially P-40B/C Tomahawk, while the Flying Tigers were the world-renowned squadron that fought the Japanese in South China.
Actually Loehle has a kit that locks the landing gear so it will meet LSA restrictions. Cruise is between 75/85 depending on the engine.
These are supposed to be very easy to fly and very stable. You have the problems from wind due to the light weight of the craft. Do not expect to due warbird type moves with it. It is not going to respond like a 3,000hp powered warbird.
in england, and europe it is considered an ultralight. in the U.S. it is considered as an experimental, or LSA.

What kinda speeds does this stall/cruise at? Very cool. I love p-40's but that is the only way I'll ever be able to own or fly one haha. Right on

In the U.S. they would have to be built and flown as experimental aircraft.

It Canada P40 and P51 aircraft from Loehle are can be registered as ultralights or experimental amateurbuilt aircraft.

How can that P40 replica be an ultralight? It looks way to big. Did I misunderstand something?
