@ufcenforcer Neely wrestled Chychrun twice; never dropped him. Brown basically owned Miller career head-to-head. You should go watch some Behn Wilson vs Terry O'Reilly if you wanna see someone getting dropped repeatedly lol
@justice008a Typical Flyers homer! If I wanna see players getiing dropped ill just rewatch Probie, Ciccone, Ray, McKay, Simon etc. dropping Brown. And theres always Jonathon giving up half a foot as he tooled Wilson, Dupont and Bridgeman! Good Times!:)
@ufcenforcer Jonathan never beat Wilson; at best a draw in their first fight and Wilson handled him easily in the second. Bridgman beat Jonathan as well. I'll put Brown well ahead of any name you listed on the all-time list. There isn't enough hours in the day to watch the 50+ losses "Probie" took before the coke, booze, and steroids caught up with him. You don't need to be a Flyers homer to put both Wilson and Brown top 5 all-time; almost anyone who isn't brainless realizes that.
Brown landed "shit" alright, right on Millers face, got to be a homer to say Miller won that one. They did have great fights though, with Miller winning his fair share.
Brown definitely threw more punches, but the best punch of the fight was the one Brown ate. Most of Browns shots missed badly! Brown is definitely better than Miller when it comes to all-time fighters, as Brown is probably 2nd or 3rd, and Miller is around 15th-20th.
@MrAdamthebeast You're on crack. The game was December 21st 1993, and the first fight was reasonable close, although I think Brown edged him. (it was their second fight as they fought once 2 weeks before)
Their 3rd fight, which was the second of the game, Brown destroyed him. It was a clear win by Brown-and I'm a Bruins fan, not a Flyers fan.
@MrAdamthebeast do us a favor and get the fuck out, dont even try to comment on hockey fights. brown destroyed ciccone 1 time the other one was a crap draw.. youre another flyers/brown hater i seem to collect them! who the fuck is ciccone compared to dave brown ? is ciccone on the top50?
Probert was better than Brown, and it's the general consensus. Brown is ranked number 2 by most hockey fight fans. He was as big and as strong as anyone, but Probert was still the king.
Tony Twist was more dominant than even Dave Brown, but I think it's clear he juiced, going from 210-245lbs of solid muscle.
It's not a terrible argument as I'd rank Brown 2nd. I guess it's just a matter of preference. If I was an Edmonton or Philly fan, I might feel the same way.
I never understood exactly why so many good fighters were completely overwhelmed by Brown and those left hands. Lots of times, the other guy could not even get decent punches off, his total domination of lots of other top fighters is one reason I rank him number 1.
Being left handed is a huge advantage the 1st time you fight someone. Even if in the back of your head you know your opponent is a lefty, often when a fight breaks out spontaneously, your instinct is to tie up the right, and when you do that, your in bad shape.
Brown was also 6'5, which in his era, was gigantic. When he played, the average NHL enforcer was about 6 feet 205. Brown was also listed at 205 for much of his career. Obviously that was his rookie weight. He was 225 if he was a pound!
@BoSoxnation1972 well hes listed as 215 to 220 pretty much everywhere never seen 225. 5 pounds isnt much of a difference. 6"5 220 without any fat mass is very strong especially in 80s
@khav11 Brown was bigger than 215. That was his weight on his rookie card, and all fighters gain weight as they get older. Probert went from a gangly 210, to 225 when he was older. Kocur went from 205-220.
Brown was far more muscular than Probert, plus he was 2 inches taller. There's no way he stayed at 215 when he was in his mid to late 20's with his build. Muscle weighs more than fat.
Cam Neely dropped Byers with 1 punch at his first Bruins practice. Byers eye was the size of a softball after the punch. Cam just didnt fight because he was told not to. Watch him TKO Ruff, and then grab onto Clark Gillies and Clark wanted zero part of Cam. He wouldnt even look at him..and he fought Byers 3times. Neely was far more feared than LB, but both were tough.
I like to feel sexy....knowing someone is watching me ..wanting me...turns me on!BADLY! Wow u koolaide drinking B's fan, Clark Gillies was 35 and in his last season in those Byers fights. Gillies would have wiped the floor with Byers in his prime. BTW go check opening nite 1991 or so the Isles wiped the floor with the Bruins also in 1980 playoffs Al Secord tried to fight Gillies and got KO'd. Lets not foget what Nystrom did to big bad John Wensink, he beat the shit out of him! The B's were tough teams (ill give u that) just dont make it sound like the Isles were soft they were tuff
lmao Im a huge fan of both teams, and Gillies was my favorite non Bruins player as a kid. People forget he had 6 seasons with 30 or more goals! But Gillies was NOT 35 when he fought Byers. He was 32 and 33...hardly over the hill. Fighters typically peak between 28-30 so he was a couple of years past him prime, but Byers was still a couple of years away from his prime too. (Gillies retired at the age of 33 before the end of the 1987-88 season after just 25 games)
Yr drunk too f-head...like the bruin announcers..just one, gay irish, hick town fraternity...or is it maternity? You wrote "Laurimer" like yr homer announcers. Gillies wiped oreilly-especially. Nystrom made Wensink his bitch, and nobody mentions howatt's win in the first fight over cashman..the reason he "suckered" Cashman was that he was tired of his interference... guess thats the only thing that half-bald, gay accountants could do after they are sapped from swallowing in the locker room.
Nystrom did beat Wensink, but Gillies and O'Reilly each won about 3 of their fights. O'Reilly actually gave Gillies 2 very bad beatings in their 2nd and 5th fights. Gillies won rounds 3 and 4 decisively. Cashman kicked Howatts ass, and Smith was too much of a pussy to fight either Bruin goalie. During the brawl, it was all Bruins kicking ass, and all Islanders on the receiving end of a beating!
smith was double teamed fag boy... he still would have gone at the two of them if cheevers didn't back down under the giuse of peacemaker...dumbshit announcers...why the hell would cheevers care about not getting smith kicked out of game. another of a 100 excuses.
lmfao Billy Smith was a PUSSY. I remember watching Lanny McDonald kick his ass, and Bobby Nystrom tried using his stick and knocking Lanny's skates out from under him! Shows what a bunch of fuckin pussies NY was and still is!
Never before or since has there been such a blowfest on each and every night.Anything black gold and white is going to get the best of it.Brown kicked the shit out of miller but these assholes don't say shit until miller connects once.
I think that it's funny as hell when someone posts a comment, yet doesnt have the balls to post who their team is or what city they are from on their own homepage. You must be from some podunk little town without a pro team, and your life long goal is to be the next William Hung.
