@soundspur you could do no better than to learn pickin and sliding from Pete Haycock !! This genius has one hell of a resume.. Check it out at Pete Haycock dot com.
My intro to the Climax Blues Band. Couldn't imagine a better setting for the start of this blues song! An aerial view of Glastonbury and one mean guitar sound
Just brilliant to hear this again. Takes me back to the 70's when I used to go and see them whenever I could. The version on Tighlty Knit is good but this is better!
Awe man, I thought I was good. My mama said I was good!! This feller just hurt my feelins. I think I will have him do that again!!! Soulful and Righteous!!!!
I think Pete is the finest guitarist ever, but don't miss the contribution from the unfortunately departed Colin Cooper who influenced my blues appreciation more than he ever knew
Truly a smokin' performance by Pete Haycock! (Very cool clip -- do you have more?)... Pete still performs this song/medley with his current band, Pete Haycock's True Blues, and he sounds better than ever. Along with fellow guitarist Glen Turner and a great rhythm section, they deliver the Blues with feeling on their Live CD too. Can't wait for these guys to come "across the pond" to the U.S. -- we've been waiting to see Pete for a long time! Come on over, guys -- we need some True Blues!
Great Video of the Guitar God... I have posted a video of Pete Playing this same song in 2008. Pete definately improves with age. Thanks for this great find. We are Pete's USA Label.
This Clip of Pete givng Country Hat a real go is excellent! Peter has only improved with age and is still touring with his new band Pete Haycock's True Blues ( feat. Glen Turner) Glen brings out the best in Pete's playing abilities as does Pete for Glen. Together they are beyond what anyone cound ask for in a pair of guitarists. Keep it going guys!
Thanks for posting this clip. The guitarist featured here is the incomparable and supremely-gifted Pete Haycock, from his days with Climax Blues Band. Pete is perhaps the greatest living slide guitarist and an amazing blues performer. After many years of studio work and film soundtracks, Pete is back on the road with his new band, Pete Haycock's True Blues (featuring Glen Turner -- another splendid guitarist), and their new Live CD is amazing! Available at RMI Sound website -- rock on, Pete!
