Although Arjun was 1 of the greatest warriors but Karna was superior than him. Karna was only a real threat to Pandavas. So, Krishna asked Kunti to reveal the truth so that they could be saved. Like Bhisma, he was also killed when he was weaponless and chariotless. Krishna asks Durga to save Arjun from Karna. Krishna also seeks help from Indra. Krishna himself saves him from many dangerous arrows--& also seeks assistance from Hanuman...So, I salute Karna although he lost the war........
I think they are great stories, but not greater then the bible. Hinduism is an indocentric religion for the indian people and by the indian people. Every other race or group is irrelevant. In the bible there are mention of thousands of races and God's plan is to incorporate them all into one family. Hinduism always be the religion by indians and for indians.

I don't understand why is Arjun given more importants than karna.As far I know Karna was more and far better than Arjun in every activities...All years Arjun made fun of Karna by calling him sutputra... Then why didn't krishna guided Arjun for that matter,that whatever he is calling Karna is incorrect..By killing karna in cheating manner.Arjun as proved in mahabhaharat that he was a true coward.And frankly speaking I think in mahabharat all the pandavs were coward and true winner was kauravas.

@matkakulfi Yes, the reason was we expect better out of Karna. For some one to have knowledge of the right and wrong, and yet to say it was indeed incorrect. And that is something Karna himself admitted that his tongue slipped that day. While his anger is justified ( the swayamvar incident etc), doesnt give one the right to be cruel.
@mxmsk tell me one incidence where karan has acted cruelly in the entire mahabarata. He hasn't infact bhim tore his enemies chest wasn't that cruelty. Arjun killed his guru wasn't it cruelty . The hight of cruelty was the bitch kunti having an emt with sun and then discarding the baby who grew up to be karan . krishna selected the wrong side because the birds of the same feather flock together. Krishna was also dhurth just like the pandus. I respect suyodhana and I wordship karna. all the pandavas were assholes. pandavas wife was a slut and their mother was a whore. every kid of her has got a different father.

@mxmsk its not a matter about getting it. Its a matter of interpreting the facts that are described in mahabharta. You are reading it wearing the holy sunglasses outlook. I have just taken them off and thrown them in the dustbin. The pandus were at fault and krishna supported people who were at fault making him equally responsible for the action. Mahabharata is a tale of war and from when has war being fun. Krishna did nothing to prevent the war and death of so many, he could have but didn't
all he had to say to the pandavas was guys you have lost your kingdom its time to leave the thrown gracefully, but he didn't and asked them to go on a war. In earlier times kings used to gamble using land, kingdom. Mumbai was a dowry form the Portuguese to the brits. some land in the conflicted areas in bangladesh and india is land won by the then kings in gambling games. To sum it all up mahabharata is a gambling story with some drama thrown in.
@matkakulfi One, Mahabharat is a mythology, not necessary a historical event. If you want to go that deep into it, it was not started by Pandavas, And you can go to the "Lakshyagraha incident to the chausars which were used. But more importantly it is a story on human nature with a lot of lessons. The War is only a part of it.
@matkakulfi I think in some ways you are missing the point of Mahabharat. The thing which Karna did wrong was to call Draupadi a whore, despite knowing that the reason she got married to 5 guys. And that is one of the reasons Bhishma, kept him away from the war. You are seeing them as everyday individual characters. Does Yudhishtira making mistakes condone Karna's? Karna was a great warrior and a great human being. The Mahabharat is a story about everyone having their faults and learning from it

Karna indeed was one of the greatest warrior who was daanveer. Here, Arjun and Karna both were equal. The only difference was Arjun was on Dharma side and Karna was on Adharma side. Karna was forced to be on the adarma because of his promise to Duryodhana or else he already knew that he is going to loose.

What is Mahabharata ? Its a war between truth and lies, Pandavas were true and truth always wins. This is what we are all learning here. To all the supporters of Karan…watch this episode again and listen what Lord Vasudev says to Arjun…Karan was equally responsible for this…The insult he did of draupadi and the way he killed Abhimanyu without following the rules…If karan was helpless this time because of his rath than even Abhimanyu was helpess in front of 7 people. @RSPCPRCS Yep, if it wasnt for Lord Krishna the Pandu's would of got destroyed by Bhishma and Karna alone in a matter of days. My personal favorite will always be Bhishma but Karna was a true hero. They were both cursed but still carried themselves with pure dignity respect.

Karna!! Oh dear! He was born with bad fortune! First of, though a royal blood, he always lived meagerly; went to many gurus, but only got curses rather than blessings/teachings; nobody ever accepted him in the society, so had to join the Kauravas; and on the battle when he never had any good life, he suffered a pity death! ;-( So sad!!!
i agree. even krishna requested karna to join the pandavas, he offered karna the throne of indraprasth too. he would have 5 brothers always protecting him. but he refused because he felt that he was too indebted too Duryodhan.

@radha25 Its strange how fate deems one's all good virtues futile. Such a great man like Karna, even greater than each of the Pandavas, came to such an end after having such a tragic life just because of fate. His only 2 major mistakes in life were calling Draupadi a whore (although this has some justifications) and taking part in the unjust murder of Abhimanyu (which does NOT befit a guy of Karna's great stature). Otherwise he's a great man who we should all admire & look up to 4 inspiration.
i agree with everything but the "some justifications" that Draupadi was a *****. i guess for people who did not know the "background" of Draupadi, it would look like that, but im sure Karna regretted that moment.
Karna also made a couple more mistakes, that was 1. befriending Duryodhaan and giving everything to him, as well as insulting Lord Parashurama and that Brahmin (Karna's killed the poor cow by accident) thus he got two curses.
@radha25 I'll tell u what I thik his faults were and were not.
1. Calling Drapaudi a whore (partially, b/c that was a bit too extreme). The objective was to exactly revenge on her b/c she insulted him for being sutputra.
2. Killing of Abhimanyu (definitely a fault, no question about it).
3. Lying to Parashurama (Partially a fault but not something that anyone in his shoes would not do. At the time the "great" gurus were prejudiced against certain ppl and Karna was very eager to learn.)
@radha25 4. Unknowingly killing a cow (truly a mistake rather than a fault). As teenagers we all do many stupid things (some actually go as far as to getting in trouble with the law) that we regret later. so why blame him, after all he's only human. He didn't have a special blessing that someone like Krishna would be his guide.
5. Surrounding himself with demoralized people (Duryodhana, Dushashana, Shakuni)... this literally inverted his pure thinking. He got a Kingdom and status from Duryodhana and in return gave his entire life to serve Duryodhana.
However this is all vidi ka vidhan {fate fate fate]. one can do only so much as to alter their fate, but in the end youre gonna get bite either way.
@radha25 IT IS INDEED sad that even Krishna (GOD) only went to him because of political reason and not out of love or for Karna's well being. Imagine if GOD only comes to speak you for a political gain rather than out of love for you. If Krishna did have any true sympathy for Karna then he'd have approached him long before the war and told him about his family and also told the Pandavas about Karna. Not just before the war as now people would only see it as a political reason.
why that may be true, you are forgetting that Kunti is the mother of Karna, and she knows him. Krishna couldn't reveal Karna's identity without Kunti's permission, and so Krishna went only AFTER Kunti requested Karna with love to join the Pandavas (which Karna declined). so i am not 100% positive if Krishna went there for political reasons, because afterwards, Krishna still continued to praise Karna and continued to meet Karna
@radha25 well you my friend are saying that. But you know many texts say that Kunti only went to Karna at the behest of Krishna. They say that it was a plan devised by Krishna to send Kunti to Karna. And that is something Karna himself admitted that his tongue slipped that day. While his anger is justified ( the swayamvar incident etc), doesnt give one the right to be cruel.

In earlier times kings used to gamble using land, kingdom. Mumbai was a dowry form the Portuguese to the brits. some land in the conflicted areas in bangladesh and india is land won by the then kings in gambling games. And that is one of the reasons Bhishma, kept him away from the war. You are seeing them as everyday individual characters. Does Yudhishtira making mistakes condone Karna's? Karna indeed was one of the greatest warrior who was daanveer. Here, Arjun and Karna both were equal. The only difference was Arjun was on Dharma side and Karna was on Adharma side. Karna was forced to be on the adarma because of his promise to Duryodhana or else he already knew that he is going to loose.

@RSPCPRCS Yep, if it wasnt for Lord Krishna the Pandu's would of got destroyed by Bhishma and Karna alone in a matter of days. My personal favorite will always be Bhishma but Karna was a true hero. They were both cursed but still carried themselves with pure dignity respect.

Yaar aap manthe ho ki ye sach hai? Bas kahaniya hai. Waise kahani samajke dekha jae tho, karan hi sabse accha aadmi hai isme. pandu log dhoke baaz hai. Agar aap isko sach maanthe ho to aap shirk ko maan rahe ho. Khuda (Bhagwan) jo bi ham bole wo ek hai aur wo insaan ki tarah nahi dikhta naahi zameen par aakar insaano ki tarah rahtha hai. MAhabharat ko sach maan na matlab tawheed ko tukrana hai.

Karna!! Oh dear! He was born with bad fortune! First of, though a royal blood, he always lived meagerly; went to many gurus, but only got curses rather than blessings/teachings; nobody ever accepted him in the society, so had to join the Kauravas; and on the battle when he never had any good life, he suffered a pity death! ;-( So sad!!!

i agree. even krishna requested karna to join the pandavas, he offered karna the throne of indraprasth too. he would have 5 brothers always protecting him. but he refused because he felt that he was too indebted too Duryodhan.
bad actions but very very awesome man! after Krishna and Arjuna as my top two favorite people karna is the next one..
in fact karna also had to stay in his camp alone while Bhisma was the commander of the Kuru army. horrible life.

@radha25 Its strange how fate deems one's all good virtues futile. Such a great man like Karna, even greater than each of the Pandavas, came to such an end after having such a tragic life just because of fate. His only 2 major mistakes in life were calling Draupadi a whore (although this has some justifications) and taking part in the unjust murder of Abhimanyu (which does NOT befit a guy of Karna's great stature). Otherwise he's a great man who we should all admire & look up to 4 inspiration.

i agree with everything but the "some justifications" that Draupadi was a *****. i guess for people who did not know the "background" of Draupadi, it would look like that, but im sure Karna regretted that moment.
Karna also made a couple more mistakes, that was 1. befriending Duryodhaan and giving everything to him, as well as insulting Lord Parashurama and that Brahmin (Karna's killed the poor cow by accident) thus he got two curses.

@radha25 I'll tell u what I thik his faults were and were not.
1. Calling Drapaudi a whore (partially, b/c that was a bit too extreme). The objective was to exactly revenge on her b/c she insulted him for being sutputra.
2. Killing of Abhimanyu (definitely a fault, no question about it).
3. Lying to Parashurama (Partially a fault but not something that anyone in his shoes would not do. At the time the "great" gurus were prejudiced against certain ppl and Karna was very eager to learn.)

@radha25 4. Unknowingly killing a cow (truly a mistake rather than a fault). As teenagers we all do many stupid things (some actually go as far as to getting in trouble with the law) that we regret later. so why blame him, after all he's only human. He didn't have a special blessing that someone like Krishna would be his guide.

5. Surrounding himself with demoralized people (Duryodhana, Dushashana, Shakuni)... this literally inverted his pure thinking. He got a Kingdom and status from Duryodhana and in return gave his entire life to serve Duryodhana.
However this is all vidi ka vidhan {fate fate fate]. one can do only so much as to alter their fate, but in the end youre gonna get bite either way.

@radha25 IT IS INDEED sad that even Krishna (GOD) only went to him because of political reason and not out of love or for Karna's well being. Imagine if GOD only comes to speak you for a political gain rather than out of love for you. If Krishna did have any true sympathy for Karna then he'd have approached him long before the war and told him about his family and also told the Pandavas about Karna. Not just before the war as now people would only see it as a political reason.

why that may be true, you are forgetting that Kunti is the mother of Karna, and she knows him. Krishna couldn't reveal Karna's identity without Kunti's permission, and so Krishna went only AFTER Kunti requested Karna with love to join the Pandavas (which Karna declined). so i am not 100% positive if Krishna went there for political reasons, because afterwards, Krishna still continued to praise Karna and continued to meet Karna

@radha25 well you my friend are saying that. But you know many texts say that Kunti only went to Karna at the behest of Krishna. They say that it was a plan devised by Krishna to send Kunti to Karna. And about permission, if Krishna was really waiting for permission, then he coud have asked permission from Kunti to tell karna about his birthright as soon as Karna became Angaraj. Remember that Krishna is the all-seeing avatar of Vishnu so nothing to Krishna is secret.

Karna realised that & that's why he refused to side with Kunti and he even said it to her that you may be my biological mom, my my real mom is the one who took raised me with love and care, Radha. I'll never leave her. And even today you come to me, not out of love for me (cuz if that was true then u coud have approached me many years ago) but just to save your sons. So basically you're trying trying to play a politics game on me.

@dannyp206 Krishna's greatest role in the Mahabharata was simply to show everyone the line between one's karma and the right Dharma; Don't forget the basic tenets of the Gita, One's duty is beyond desire and ideas. Krishna simply did the right thing under the circumstances, circumstances in which Karna was simply a hapless player. Don't forget Krishna went only because Kunti asked him and he was reluctant to say the least.
