  • Wonderful voice and beautiful

  • One of my all time favourite songs .

  • This is the version I grew up listening to. So Sarah Brightman IS Christine.

  • I will always love Sarah and Micheal best, as it was their stage Opera version i grew up with. but Emmy and Gerard do very well in the movie.

  • I love how she sings, but I feel like she sings kind of in a hurry

  • what's scary is that when i was little i listened to this recording all the time and i sang along. now that i am older, my voice is pitched kinda high, and because of it, i can almost hit all the high notes. and i am a guy. ah fun times.

  • I personally like emmy better but its probably because i saw the movie version first. Sarah is AMAZING though! <3

  • Sarah Brightman Im melting... where is sarah sing in pace????

  • What's the chance that you can find a beautiful lady with great singing talent???

  • nuff said. I've the goosebumps whenever I hear Sarah Brightman sings. @Clifftopher, Sarah IS a legend.

  • Anne,

I love both versions..You clearly know that. How many times do we have to go over this?

Love this video. Thumbs up and into my favorites..Thank you for thinking of me Anne.. Let's get together and have lunch and look into when we will once again go see The Phantom Of The Opera. Let's look into it.

    Love you,

    Sasha

  • For all those who think Emmy is better, just remember that it is extremely difficult to sing opera in English, the same in German. For those who think Sarah is better, Emmy Rossum is not classically trained, so comparisons between them aren't really fair. They're both extremely talented and I think they both sound great.

  • i rather emmy her voice is more pure and young but sarah is good too.

  • So much better to listen to this then watch that horribly worked movie seen... it's ok to listen to but nothing to watch :S

  • I prefer sierra boggess

  • @mishellmunguia She is quite lovely. The complete package and a worth successor to Sarah Brightman. Emmy Rossum had take after take after take to be incredible and wound up no better than the lead in a high school production. Considering how long it took to bring the musical to the screen it was an utter disappointment in every way.

  • The ending LOL

  • So many versions of Think of Me - I still like Brightman's version the best as she really bring out the longing version of a lady who wants her love to remember her...

  • @DisneyFamily Did you know that the part of Christine Daae was written specifically for her? It's true! Sarah Brightman and Andrew Lloyd Webber were married at the time.

    To quote from Wikipedia:

--Brightman starred as Christine Daaé in Lloyd Webber's adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. The role of Christine was written specifically for her. Lloyd Webber refused to open The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway unless Brightman played Christine.--

    How romantic!

  • @NinjagrlProductions Yup I know! I'm Brightman's fan and as well as Lord Lloyd Webber's fan. It is such a waste that Brightman isn't casting in Phantom show anymore. T,T Her vocal is mystical!

  • her voice is enchanting. I'm enchanted.

  • I love Sarah Brightman! I have this CD at home just dedicated for Brightman's recordings! Even though I admire Emmy Rossum, no one is comparable to the only and original Sarah Brightman!

  • Wow i can cry listening to this...

  • With this voice and that eyes she look like angel

  • Beautiful voice, beautiful eyes, beautiful lady. I wish I could have seen and heard her on the stage of "Phantom". She has become one of my favorite singers.

  • I think I prefer Emmy because of her clarity. Sarah has a strange inflection to her words. It sounds like shes pinching her vowels? I can't pinpoint it.

  • @brickdancer5463 Emmy sings through her nose, attempting an English accent and fails. Sarah is English and enunciates when she sings because she is a Lyric Soprano.

  • i think i would have to say i like the Emmy Rossum version better because it sounds like Emmy is singing to someone and not "at" that person... that is how it seems to me...

  • beautiful song, voice and singer: Sarah Brightman <3

  • I loved the show Phantom Of The Opera and the song Think Of Me was my favourite and the singers that did it where good but Sarah Brightman is magical. Towards the ending by 2:54 is inspired by Motzart and that part is my favourite.

THANK YOU ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER FOR COMPOSING THIS SONG!!!!!

  • AH! lame. :P

  • Why can't I find a recording with the lyrics *I* know?

  • @aniretak92 because you know the wrong lyrics?

  • why cant people praise everyone. each of the chrstines has their own unique sound like any other singer. they are all equally talented but have different was of singing. don't let their difference in sound affect your judgement.

  • this song is so very amazing to listen, it is just amazing

  • she is extremely hot

  • the ending is awesome ... it will break my vocal cord also before i even get close to it!

  • @didonadia Well, you have more than one.

  • @dwarflover63 i see what you did there ... :D

  • ahh....I want to learn how to sing like this....

  • LOVE ^^

  • I think all of the Christines sound different. which i LOVE! I like them all. Sierra Boggess may be my favorite, but theyre all great

  • emmy rossum would totally kick this chicks ass

  • Gah, sorry for ranting but I cant believe how many people like Emmy Rossum as Christine! I heard her sing first and found her such a let down, and her "acting" is as bland as her voice. The whole musical was written for Sarah, she will always be the best.

  • Sarah sounds absolutely heavenly!...Not to mention that she's "so freakin hot too!" :)

  • Both are good. Yes Emmy and Sarah is good, and I gotta say, Sarah has a wonderful voice but Emmy can pull off that inoccent way of Christine. Thats all I'm here to say.

  • @darkrose834 No you're good. I agree to, I think Sarah's voice was more annoying than beautiful, but she was younger and just beginning to bud voice wise during Phantom. Emmy was able to pull of a gorgeous, innocent personality for the remake, and that's just why I prefer her over Sarah for phantom, regardless, Sarah has definitely improved, and sounds simply beautiful.

  • @charmed6057 I totally agree, her voice is trained and better than Emmy's voice..but i feel like i'm in a fairytale when i listen to Emmy ,i feel peaceful. Sarah has a voice like she's the bad-hearted woman in the story ,i like her voice and i listen to her but it's the total fact.

  • Personally, seeing as I cannot hit a single one of these notes, I don't think I really have any right to say which Christine is better. They're ridiculously talented and amazing, and I am insanely jealous of both.

  • @xxbekaforevaxx Amen!!! Could not have said it better!!!!. Most of us can only dream of singing like either of them. We're fortunate to have two such amazing talents to listen to.

  • nope.. no you fail sarah.

  • Emmy's version is really nice, but Sarah's is just as great. Stop comparing. Both are extraordinary!

  • Miranda Sings brought me here -.-

  • There will always be those that follow, but it is very important to remember that the entire Phantom of the Opera was written by Weber for Brightman to be Christine. Like her or not, these songs BELONG to her.

  • @OnlyIfYouAreSmart AMEN !

  • Nope Emmy's voice is wwwwaaaayyyy better. SHE sounds like she's singing through her nose!!!! sssssssssooooooooo un atractive!!

  • @onein1thousand you suck , this musical andrew loyd webber wrotes special for her, and for her voice. emmy is good, but she sings like she has a dildo up to far her ass.

sarah brightman is way way better, she has some unique quality nobody has, she can sing, pop, rock, musical, opera in a pure form. what you gonna say next, that lady gaga is better than sarah. think again

  • I love Emmy's version but seriously, this is Sarah Brightman !!

  • This is better! Emmy's is pitchey..

  • I like Emmy's version, she did it beautifully but this is my FAVORITE hands down

  • Beautiful!

  • I would give anything if I could sing like a opera singer :D I would love to be able to sing like that

  • @monkeyjunki singing is something you can definitely learn. It takes time, but if you take lessons you can reach where you want to. It definitely takes effort, time and money. You said you'd give anything, didn't you? That's what it takes

  • The differences between the two voices is simply due to age. Sarah's voice is one of an adult and Emmy's is definitely a voice of child. So each bring something different, but both are great.

  • i thnk both r good... this lady has a different emphisis... and emmy has more innocence...

  • "SophieSafiye17" is absolutely correct; Emmy DID sing all her songs in Phantom, the movie. I am DEFINITELY an Emma fan; her innocence and authenticity as lovely ingenue is SO affecting (& so NOT 'affected') throughout the movie---that not a single song I could find done by the preferred early stage casts of original play even come close to the movie---and I looked at EVERY one I could find on YouTube. See Emmy Rossum's Wikipedia article; it's pretty amazing. Phantom, the movie made me a fan!

  • think on me think on me once one thime since you say good bye

  • This song was written for her voice specifically!!!!

  • She and Emmy are incomparable. The actual stage production opera in a style close to Pavarotti and the movie is sort of a Josh Groban style of opera (meaning more pop than actual opera). Emmy is still a great singer though, but Sarah is a legend.

  • @Clifftopher08 I agree that they are not comparable in terms of music style but I'll like to make a note that the actual stage production is indeed not even close to Pavarotti as Phantom of the Opera isn't really an opera but a musical! And not all types of classical singing are necessarily operatic! Actually, you've already made comparison between their vocal techniques by saying Emmy is a great singer but Sarah is a legend. I guess you think that legend is greater than just a great singer!

  • @williamevans321 Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad that you still got the point I was trying to make. And me pointing out that Sarah is a legend is just a fact. Just look at how many awards she has won. That doesn't make Emmy not a great singer though. :)

  • @Clifftopher08 Cannot agree more :)

  • I love how Raoul says, "bitch," at 2:24. :)

  • @myvictoryismine1 No, although the very first time i heard this, I thought so too.

He's saying "a bit". "What a change, you're really not a bit, the gawkish girl you once were..."

  • I love the lyrics to this song, they are simply beautiful.

  • More people need to know about Rebecca Caine's Christine.

  • Sarah was the original Christine and remember when this show is live they are singing real time, no re-do's or editing like the movie cast gets. I love Sarah and Emmy's versions of this song but I really love the original version since my grandma played it all the time when I was visiting her. :D

  • I completely agree with those in favour of Emmy. She portrays the newer opera singers voice as apposed to someone who is well trained. She is more innocent... I am ashamed to say I'm not a fan of the original Christine or Phanton. Gina Beck is my favourite Christine ever.

  • @natashaageorge ...But Emmy Rossum's Christine is supposed to have been well-trained. The film implies that she has been under the Phantom's vocal tutelage since she was a child. She should be the best damn opera singer there is (unless you take into consideration that Gerard Butler was the one giving her voice lessons). Emmy Rossum's voice wouldn't even carry over the orchestra pit.

  • Im too used to the original cast , and although I love the movie and the voices were goodl, they just dont sound as strong.

  • Pantages Theater in Toronto. Amazing!!!

  • The ORIGINAL Christine from the 1986 London and Broadway productions. And still the best in my opinion

  • Brightman's voice is clearly the more accomplished, trained and is the stronger voice. I too like Emmy's "innocent" sounding voice, but if I were forced to listen to the two women on a regular basis, I would have to choose Brightman.

  • he sorta sounded like he was saying 'what a change, you're not a bitch...'

  • @dibrox465 or ....... you really not a bitch eheheh

  • I was at the Wintergarden Theatre in NYC when Sarah Brightman sang it on stage. While I'll also say that she has a beautiful voice, it didn't move me when she sang this song and "Angel of Music" like Emmy Rossum did in the film. A matter of personal taste, my perception that Sarah's was too technically on-the-nose while Emmy's voice portrayed an innocent beauty that Sarah's didn't, call it what you will, for once I prefer the remake over the original.

  • Sophie Plummer can sing this brilliantly! Check her version out on one2plum.

  • I heard the film version before I heard Sarah, but I absolutely can't stand Emmy's voice. It is quite pretty on average notes but turns really screechy on high notes. Sarah's voice is just perfect, and after all, the part was written for Sarah, so it will suit her perfectly.

  • I like her voice better :) she's a lot stronger on the high notes

  • Emmy is far better.

  • sorry sara the girl who plays christene is better then u so is jackie evancho >.>

  • @lemonaidmouthforever Stfu. Pfft, go back to listening to your Justin Bieber and your... Lemonade mouth forever? Anyways... You are WRONG you silly little monkey!

  • No, no. Raoul says-

"What a change! You're really not a bit the gawkish girl that once you were..."

He doesn't say anything about her not the bitch she once was. HaHa

  • 'what a change your really not a bitch' ?? i liked the 2004 lyrics better

  • @smileygal246 He didn't say bitch, LOL. Sounds like it though! I bet he looks back on this song now and thinks "oops...". XD

  • @aShLeYlUvSrOcK098 lol it really sounds like it :L

  • i think Brightman is gorgeous, but in some of her pictures she kinda reminds me of a bratz doll with a huge mound of hair, butshe is still very pretty

  • yeah, Sarah Brightman wins. the cadenza says it all.

  • this song was written for sarah brightman...her husband wrote it for her...

  • Both Emmy's and Sarah's voices are quite beautiful... <3 I like Emmy's a little more, but they both have outstanding voices. :3

  • Michael Crawford is the best part of the original :D

  • I grew up with this version and will always love it!

  • 2:16 who are the dudes on the steps lol

  • I love you Sarah!

  • the last one scared me:S

  • this is my audition song for my school musical....and I'm freaking out lol...

  • i think that if you heard the original cast before the new one, you'll most likely be more harsh towards the new cast and vice versa. both women have absolutely beautiful voices.

  • The original, keys and all. Thanks for the upload.

  • its not meant for her voice its meant for every opera person its just meantfor certain voices not just hers

  • i first heard Emmy, but i'm listening to this over and over.. and .. yeah.. starting to dig it.

  • this is great, sarah is really talented but I don't like opera- just the style in general- which is why I love Emmy's version b/c, although not as technically skilled, its watered down opera and easier for me to listen to. But Sarah is awesome, seriously, i just dnt like opera

  • Type "Ranj Catch 22" if you wanna hear a cool song!

  • 39 people aren't thinking of their own loved ones.

  • Sarah Brightman's younger sister Amelia "Violet" Brightman also sings great just as Emmanuelle Grey "Emmy" Rossum does.

  • Emmy is a very good Christine but she's not Sarah - Sarah's voice has that rich maturity and power to it

  • Sarah's voice is very controlled and beautiful. Like someone who sings opera? Yeah I'm pretty sure you're supposed to sing Opera in an opera. Just sayin.

  • hmmm i don't really like her voice.

  • Both of Emmy's and Sarah's voices are beautiful :) I think people who like Emmy's voice better...are just more USED to her voice. Like I am. When i first heard this, I was like waht?? but I heard it again, and it's beautiful :]

  • @ClevverTv24 I totally agree with you but I still prefer Emmy better. I respect everybody's opinion but Emmy I think is way better. Sorry.

  • @ClevverTv24 It is not actually Emmy Rossum's voice in the Phantom movie. It is another singer who has been dubbed over. The only song which Rossum sings is the one during the credits which is not from the original soundtrack.

  • @SophieSafiye17 no, you're thinking of Minnie Driver who played Carlotta. Emmy sings all of her own songs. Minnie was dubbed.

  • @etrangerbelle Whoops! Wow. All this time I was mistaken. You are correct; I was mistaken and wrong.

  • @SophieSafiye17 Totally wrong. Emmy did all her own singing. The voice over the credits is Minnie Driver who didn't sing Carlotta but was dubbed.

  • <3 <3 <3

  • I love her, such a great voice :) Dank u sarah ge zijt de beste zangeres OOOOIT !!!!!!!

  • I love this one more than Emmy's no offense ^^

  • i really love this version and i didn't get to know the singer. NOW i've found her<3

oh my buddha :) love it

  • this young girl is GREAT!!!!!! I know we will hear lots from her.

  • I saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.... it was, by far, Phenomenal, when I was watching, I felt like everything that was pure, and good in the world was in the theatre. While watching Phantom, I truly felt at home, and I've never felt that with any Broadway show I've seen.

  • omg the ending of the song is so cool :) what a pretty song :D

  • @helloBrinaa its called a cadenza :) i love them to i sing tjhis song for my chorus all the time :)

  • @bearanease thanxs :D and this would make a fun song for choir :)

  • What nationality was she raised with? I can't place her accent....

  • @Nassia99 I'm led to believe it's British, or at least some type of European? It is rather unique.

  • @Nassia99 i googled it she was born and raised in england near london :D

  • Did raul call her a BITCH?! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nope i dont care who it was written for emmy is a much better singer. sarah brightman makes me wince . her voice is just awkward and doesnt fit the part even if it was wirtten for her it sounds juts bad.

  • what a change youre really not a bitch?!?!

  • really love this song

  • I like it, but only in some parts. It's like her tone changes too much from bright to dark too frequently. When she hits her higher register and has a more "operatic" tone, it's gorgeous, but it's kinda sporadic.

  • Beautiful Voice ! :D

  • what a great voice...geezzz...AWESOME!!!!!

  • iam totally in love with his song <3

  • xvcxbb

  • la mmejor version sera siempre de sarah

  • she was F***n amazing in Repo!!!!

  • think of me fallin when you said goodbye... lalala. i like david's version

  • this helps me to sleep <3

  • 2:53 Sarah's voice is AMAIZING!!!!!!! :p

  • ok just to clear this up, i thought he said that too, but for everyone who thinks that at 2:21 he actually says, "Can it be? Can it be Christine? Bravo! What a change, you're really not a bit, the gawkish girl that once you were. She may not remember me, but I remember her." Gawkish meaning shy.

  • ive heard better i liked because the guy part failed! it was a funny fail tough, at 2:21 sounds like he swears lmfao

  • ive heard better

  • my voice teacher was right sarah is no bueno

  • I WAS THE THOUSANDTH LIKE!!

  • After I watched Repo,! The Genetic Opera, I learned that Andrew Lloyd Weber wrote this part as Christine for her when they were married, and I found that bit of history very cute. ^^

  • shes not as good as emmy rossum but she is pretty

  • @rainyday69110 Really? I find it quite the opposite. I think Sarah possesses much, much, much more talent.

  • @rainyday69110 SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!

  • Sarah was perfect for christine...Her character is supposed to be that of an opera singer, a strong woman whos been through a lot. Emmy was weak and pathetic. It was completely the wrong voice for the part in my opinion. I sing opera and someone like Emmy would have been laughed at especially in a lead role. Gerard was even worse...an operatic musical genius who sounds like a rock star who has smoked way to much? Come on....

  • please help me out...I have a great voice.

But like Susan Boyle i am not very young.

you are my favorite singer..especially Handel Laschia Chio Pianga

  • This song very very very very very best !!!!!!!!!!!§§§ and beautiful !!! I am from cz :D

  • Sarah Brightman is the best!!! Emmy REALLY REALLY ruined the movie. She has an okay voice but her acting..... Ugh..... All she did the whole movie was staring into space like a weirdo... And crying... She cried a lot... That's probably not her fault though. The director probably told her to do that. Oh well... Just my opinion. :|

  • @aShLeYlUvSrOcK098

COnsidering the Director was Joel Schumaker- the guy who effed up Batman by doing Batman and Robin...yes, I'd believe that.
