It really doesn't hurt much. Even one piercing. Yeah you bleed, but don't let the blood fool you. It does hurt less then lobes. The only thing that hurts, is the attempting to eat food after the fact.

I got my tongue pierced almost 2 years ago, and it wasn't that bad that I actually want to get another.

First of all, and real piercing artist would know, you NEVER EVER, pierce from the bottom up, and you never use a bigger needle than the jewlery. That's just asking for trouble. On other parts of the body, sure, not a big deal. The tounge is one place where you can't do that. I'm surprised you didn't get an infection or internal bleeding of the tounge.

There is a bunch of blood because the piercer used a larger needle than the jewelry. That's why the barbell dropped inside of the needle.

Its just lazy and bloody. don't use 12ga needles for 14ga jewelry. I always use the same gauge as the needle as the jewelry unless I am stretching after the piercing then I use a taper to the next gauge up right after the needle.
