  • Cool vid! I didn't know that the 4WD version could pop wheelies. Is there a switch on it or the transmitter that allows you to temporarily disengage the 4WD back to 2WD in order to do wheelies or is the 4WD version/conversion able to do them due to having more torque applied to the rear than the front?

Looks like it crawls a little even without the crawler conversion kit.

I have a Lunch Box and though it's only 2WD it too can do a bit of low-grade rock crawling if I'm careful and patient.

  • hey, will it be fast if i upgrade it to brushless??

  • you did a good job showin what the king was made to do this vid aint crude its good my man !!! i like the stills too!!

  • whats the standard mtor thats in it? coz iv got a stinger 20 turn motor sitting here out of a traxxas bandit xl-5

  • @56fletcher I comes with a 540 size 27 turn Saturn.

  • @oleblue73 anyone know how many kv that is?

  • is it good for a starter and is it goin like till 40mp/h and is it good at off roading and is it water proofed

  • @MrGizgazo It's an excellent starter truck, because it comes with a charger and a battery. It is not water proof, and it does about 10-12mph, so it's not built for speed. The Traxxas Stampede XL-5 is waterproof and does about 35mph if you use a 8.4V battery.

  • @oleblue73 which truck would you say is better for smallers monster truck track runs and crawling/climbing rather than high speed racing? to my understanding the traxxas stampede vxl is only 2wd while hpi wheely king is 4x4 .. does that make much of a difference (i imagine it does) and can the stampede be modified fairly easily to drive 4x4?

  • @c4rdsh4rk Sorry it took so long for me to reply. The King is better for general offroading with it's solid axles and 4WD. The Stampede is better for track running and racing since it's much faster and features fully independent suspension. I'm not sure if the Stampede can be modified to be 4WD. There isn't a conversion kit that I'm aware of, but I could be wrong.

  • @c4rdsh4rk the stampede vxl can reach 60mph plus, so go with it! they also now make a 4wd stampede vxl

  • the song is fucking good, btw It is called

" sabotage " by beastie boys

  • I turned the sound off to watch it because of the song. It´s better than not watching the guy´s clip just because you don´t like the music. May I perhaps suggest that olebluo73 could have tried a few different camera positions? i have the same (no cameraman) problem, and I find that varying the camera site does help. Also, the static views could maybe have been shot from nearer ground level. By the way, my Wheely king´s rear diff has been "clacking" alarmingly for ages...

  • I plan to buy a new one but Im scared because some people says the tranny ( maybe the rear diff ) breaks easily just putting a faster brushed motor on it. Do you have same problem ?

  • I run a Saturn 20T motor in mine. When I first upgraded, I was running it with an 8.4V battery. Plus, I would put it in reverse, then kick it into foward to pop wheelies. I totaly stripped the rear diff. I rebuit it (It wasn't hard) and now run the 20T motor with a 7.2V battery, and I drive it a bit easier. (no more sudden reverse to forward.) Since then, I haven't has any problems. I think if you upgrade the motor, and don't drive stupid like I did, you should be fine.

  • Yeah thanks a lot. I like this car and Its cheaper than bigger monster trucks with double battery/motor and so. Good driving mate

  • @oleblue73 The mt2 gear set works in the King and is darn near blow proof. The slipper clutch out of a Blitz can be put on as well, eliminating any drivetrain woes.

  • you enntering in the wheely king awards?

  • never heard of it. what is it?

  • search it its a contest to see who can get the biggest air/the crazyst free style and more check it out

  • i dont know anyone who actually likes that song

  • i like it

  • Look whos a fucking loser now!! The wheely king is able to be upgraded BIG time. Battery Lasts 20 minutes!!!! The motor is actually a 27t Dumbass. The Wheely king is so durable i drove mine off the ROOF of my house and it survived!! Your fucking dumbass who has no idea what fun is. Go run in hide behing your pathetic little rc truck becasue this car is THE MOST FUN RC EVER FUCKING DICK LICKER

  • I totaly agree. The Wheely King is inexpensive, durable as hell, and can be upgraded in any number of ways. Some people go rock crawler, but I want to mod mine into a more scale monster truck. It's so stupid when people compare this truck to their friggin Revo's and T-Maxx's.

  • Agreed. There is no other type of monster truck like this. Check out some of snoopmaxx's videos and xjonny's videos. They have upgraded them loads! I hate people like that who dont know what fun is

  • I am thinking about getting one of these. I think what would help it out is the Suspension Kit by HPI that makes it a little longer and relocates the battery. Also if a little more speed is desired, throw in a 20Turn Traxxas Stinger motor and with a High MAH 6-Cell or 7-Cell.

  • did you actually break it???

if not,you are a realy big idiot!!!

  • looks a little slow.

  • How fast will it go?

  • about 10mph out of the box.

  • the wheelies look funny haha. Cool stuff tho

  • what scale is it

  • 1/12

  • what is there to break in with a electric rc vehicle except for getting it dirty?- nice vid

  • There really is no 'break in' period for electric RC cars. It's just a figure of speech.

  • you do have to break in electric motors

  • can you run a 9.6v?

  • I don't know if I'd try a 9.6V. The battery might not fit, and I'm not sure if the speed control could take it.

  • Looks like a real fun truck to drive. Great video!

Nice job driving. I wish my Stamped could lift off like that :)

  • get the 7 cell battery for it and the 19 tooth pion gear then it should do whellies

    -

  • how powerful bateries can you put in it because its stock batery is 1500 mah 7.2v. Can you put 3000mah 7,2v?

  • Yes, I run 3800mah in mine, and I'm sure I could run 4200 or 5000's. I've also run 8.4V batteries for a nice little speed increase. However, the 8.4's don't fit in the battery slot as nicely, so you'd need a rubber band to hold them is place.

  • how much does it run???? It seem very funny, isn´t it???? than k you in advance!!!!!

  • No one should be allowed to watch this video unless they first watch oleblue's video of his daughter first.

    Watch "When babies attack!"!!

  • is it nitro or electric

  • It's electric.

  • I think it does 10-12 mph stock. I put a 20T motor and 24t pinion in mine, and I'll bet it's doing around 20 mph. (give or take)

  • nice.. cuz im tired of getting stuck and seeing only 2 wheels turning..

  • theres one on youtube.. ill try to find the link :D wats the name of the song?

  • Song is "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys.

  • what do you thing of a velineon system traxxas made, put into the wheely king? You think the gears could hold up?

  • I would love to see a brushless WK. I'm not sure the diff's could take it, though.

  • We'll find out next month when i order my Sidewinder 4600kv brushless system for mines. I run upgraded spur and pinion just now (robinson racing) and hardended alloy gears inside the gearbox. The slipper clutch in the tranny is a weak area. As are the diffs. I plan to change the diffs to MT hardened steel units as the stock ones are made from cast alloy and are very weak

  • niice... is it possible to fill them with oil? or do i need any mods?

  • You could put o-rings made from rubber where the driveshafts enter the diffs to seal them a bit, but i think they wouls still leak even with thick oil

Best you could do i think is fill them with really thick grease

  • any way to lock the diffs then?

  • You can search ebay and buy diff lockers designed for the wheely king, but this would only be suitable for crawling as the turning circle will suck.

If you want a "semi" locked differential i advise using "silly putty" or "bluetac" inside the diffs. Possibly only the rear because the front wheels don't habe enough weight on them to be any use when you accelerate.

I'm ordering better quality differentials for mines soon, then will semi lock the rear one

  • but wont the gears where away if you use silly putty if theres no grease?

  • Use silly putty and grease at the same time :)

  • ST Racing do diff locks for the Wheely King. I just bought one for the rear of mines so i can power ir up hills easier

  • kk thanks know of any universal diff locks as i dont think theey do one 4 my car

  • i got a wheely king too but is the 20t saturn motor the maximum the ESC can handle?

  • "Officially" a 20t is the most, but I read an article where a guy put a 600-size 18t in the the WK and it worked fine.(and was FAST) I'd say either swap out the stock ESC, or upgrade at your own risk if you go faster than 20T.

I run a 20T with a 24t pinion and my truck is fast enough to where I'm looking to buy an axle extension kit to give the truck a wider stance. It tends to roll at high speeds on pavement, but is fine on grass and dirt.

  • No mods needed to fit a 600-size motor in it?

  • The only mod you need on the WK to fit a 600 size motor in it is a 24t pinion because the motor is thicker you can't get a correct mesh with the stock 21t pinion. I run 8.4volts in mines with 24t pinion and a 19t 600 size motor. 4600mah battery pack aswell. I blew out the front prop recently. It's all water proof aswell just now so i take it mudding now and then. Check out some of my videos of me bashing the absolute crap out of it

  • do you think energ 4600 nimh batteries will be too much for this car with the stock motor, esc and gears etc.?

  • If it's a 7.2V, that should work fine.

  • i dont think he meant breaking it in as you break in a nitro, but just this was his first run so he was "breaking it in"

  • u cant "break in" an electric car.

  • thanks for clearing that up.

  • know how long it can drive before i must recharge it?

  • i think that its about 20 min+, longer if you have an upgraded motor or battery or both, then a 6 hour charge for the stock battery, or longer for a battery upgrade....i think...

  • Depends. With the stock battery and motor setup, it will run about 10 minutes. Stock motor and a 3000Mah battery should run about 20 minutes. The stock batter is a 1500Mah, and the charge on the stock charger is 6 hours. Don't even consider using the included wall charger for any other battery. Get a quick charger for 15-20 minute charges.

  • since I shot this video I've upgraded the motor, pinion and spur gears. It's about twice as fast as the out-of-box speed, but my run-time with a 7.2V 3800 Mah battery is still in the 20-25 minutes range. I should note that the motor and gear upgrade trashed the stock plastic drive shafts, so I had to order steel drive shaft upgrades from HPI.

  • much my run time on stock batt?

  • stock battery is a 7.2V 1500. I get about 10-15 minutes. I usually run a 3800 that gets me more like 20-30 minutes. Just bought a 20T motor and new pinion and spur gear. Will post new vid soon.

  • I downloaded this using "YouPlayer" and will play it again later using "flvPlayer". What a neat thing to do!

  • Great post! Good music as well!

    Who was holding the camera?

  • nobody. It's on a tripod.
