tommy turvey used to be amazing . He loved his horses and he gained their turst through passion and hardwork. I lost all respect for him when at the 2008 PA expo he lit his horse on fire in a stunt. He thought it would be entertaining to gallop and flaming horse , but instead the flames spread and the horse was badly burnt. F
I need to clarify what this person saw. Tommie is a professional stuntman who has done this stunt (setting himself and a horse on fire) many times. The horse was covered with a nomex pad and fireproof gel. In no way did the horse get burned or even a single hair singed. This is Tommie's main stunt horse and works on many movies. Tommie is a professional and would never put a horse in danger. He goes for the "perception of danger" and it looks like it worked, so Tommie is even more amazing!
I know its hard to believe, but its fact that this stunt went horribly wrong. They had to stop the show and turn the lights on. The some of horses backside was burnt and the top of his tail was on fire. It was poor judgement on Tommy's part , and in my opinion he cross the line .
@new2eventing@new2eventing It is not hard to believe. The show was not stopped, just ask the 5000 people that were there. Obviously you weren't. Please stop spreading untrue rumors. These are the facts. There is no way for the horse to get burned when he was protected by fire gel and a a specially designed dual romex pad. This was documented by the producers of the show. It was a calculated stunt that went off perfectly.
@equineextremist Well I was there and about 13 other people from my barn were there, so unless thirteen people were being delusional at the same time, this did happen. The show was stopped because the stunt went horribly wrong. it was a stupid and risky thing to do!
I met this guy no lie!!! about two days before he came to the farm where i live and i was there and we talked and had dinner and stuff. the farm is carousel farm in pennsylvania.
OMG this guy is awsome! I've seen this guy in action. He rocks we saw him at the horse world expo in Harrisburg P.A. the past three years. It is amazing.
My 4H group is going to this expo this week so excited!!!!!!
