Chevelle's first album, Point#1, is similar to Tool, since then they have diverged to a sound that is unique.

There were definitely points within this song that sounded somewhat like some Tool songs. That being said, bands routinely sound like other bands in some spots, and this, while sounding SOMEWHAT like Tool during the bridge section specifically, is obviously Chevelle.

Kick-ass song. First time I've head it. I remember the first time I heard Chevelle's The Red on 99.7 the Blitz. I thought it was TOOL or A Perfect Circle. Fucking awesome group. Anybody who says otherwise is a homo.

When Chevelle first started playing on the radio I thought it was new A Perfect Circle. He does sound a bit like MJK and he has said that he fashions his singing style after him. So its not too far fetched for someone who doesn't listen to TOOL regularly to make that mistake. Although it sounds to me like he sings differently than he did on Chevelles first couple of albums

@WatchTheEmbersRise I listen to a lot of radio, there's one specific one in my area that plays a lot of rock. And there are several TooL songs that often play multiple times a day. When I first heard this song, I said to myself, "When did Tool come out with a new album?!" Then I came to realize that it was a completely different band that I never heard of! Now I've got another band to follow! :D
