When I went to MEPs, in Kansas City, Missouri, we had to do the duck walk in (boys:) boxers/underwear (girls:) bra and underwear in front of an old male doctor.

And the girls went together just as the boys did.

And I agree with nissanlover, the hotel was the best part.

To everyone, NO they do not stick any foriegn objects up or in your ass. The worst part of the entire medical, which really isnt bad, was the screening where they have you spread your cheeks while bent over. It lasts only for a sec and its over. Then they send you to a room, make you strip to your underwear where you will peform diff body movements and the duck walk. I went to the Baltimore MD MEPS in November 2011. I leave April 2012 for Ft Leonard Wood MOS 31B!

When my hubby was 17,he was on his motorcycle,got hit by a truck,the bumper went right into his lower back on the left side.he 's had a perm dent,pain,numbness since then and he's 46 now,also the last job he had b4 going into the army,he had to toss some big chains, he felt a tear in his shoulder.it got all swollen,heavily bruised. shoulda disqualify him.but they said he was fit to serve. doesnt sound to me like they are thorough in any shape or form or they have have spotted those .during boot

@thecolaratlady he ended up getting a medical discharge due to the shoulder issue, they told him they could operate then he would have to go through boot again , he had heard too many horror stories so he said no operations. he didnt make it through boot. came home not too long after xmas.i told him i dunno why he even tried b/c of those issues.and alot of discrepencies on whether or not he's a veteran.

I went to Harrisburg MEPS back on August 1st. For all you kids goin, don't sweat it honestly. Its sort of freaky at first, but as the day progresses, and the sun rises, and the hours drag by, you get used to being there, and you recognize everyone by the end of the day. As for the actual stuff, they tell you what to do. And when they tell you to piss, do it. DON'T be that guy.

ahh the boston meps.i was there 3 days ago for my medical. Really nervous at first. But nothing to worry about. they're all nice. they'll try to help you out as much as they can. Just a piece of advice to people who's going to meps. Get as much rest as you can get the night before. Beause it'll be a long friggin day. Goodluck!

I have a fungal infection on one of my toenails that I was born with..like had it straight outta the womb, it's weird. Would that disqualify me?? I really want to join the navy and i'm flipping out...i'd tear it out if i had to! I recently started a home remedy for this since the prescription treatment is not only expensive but can also damage your kidneys...It looks like its coming out pretty healthy! But just incase it doesn't...does anybody know?

Its okay, because you will be with many individuals of the same sex who are in the same boat as you. As long as you have nothing to hide, like stitches or deformities then you will be fine.

@smildonfatalis1 well to make it short and blunt: it just restricts you from job opportunities. noone ever got turned down becuase of good hearing. But the depth perception test is hard as hell. and granted, you may not have to take it. but if youre in aviation, be prepared for it.

@trisgilmour What really matters is passing the ASVAB, if you don't pass that then you can't get into the military. Failing a urine or breathalyser test can disqualify you as well.
