  • i heard their bing back a new dallas why cant the bring back a new falcon crest with Emma in charge of crest . and all there kids are adults that would be intereseting to see. think about it producers of falcon crest bring it back like dallas.

  • Yes Jane was not let go and against doctors orders (she had MS) she returned to close the show ,she even wrote the final scene. Excellent ending and may "Falcon Crest" will never be forgotten as it was a fun show. You will never forget Angela and Melissa (Ana Alicia) they made the show.

  • Jane Wyman actually wrote the words for this speech herself.

  • The show knew how to do Seanson Finale. But the last season was an awful mess. IT started looking cheap. The new viallian, the young doctor from Trapper John Md, was a bore. And they let Jane Wyman go. She was the heart of the show. You loved her or you hated her, but either way when she was on the screen you did not reach for that remote.

  • They didn't let Jane Wyman go. The producers of the show were indeed inept but not that inept! Wyman had some health problems during the last season so she was written out of most of the episodes, but returned for the last couple of episodes of the season.

  • This clip really makes me sad. I really loved watching this show. There were hidden values in the shows content. Jane Wyman was a super actress and a legend!!

  • Wanneer komt Falcon Crest nou eindelijk op DVD uit ??

  • I enjoyed Falcon Crest in SoapNet Reruns until Robert Foxworth left the series. At that point the show really had lost its premise of the feuding family the show revolved around.

I think the family based stories along with talent like Jane Wyman, Susan Sullivan, Robert Foxworth, Ana Alicia and David Selby really made the show enjoyable.

Too bad most shows today don't have that talent or faith from the network to let the show run like CBS did with Falcon Crest.

  • i heard rod taylor(frank) and margaret ladd(emma) weren't in the final episode b/c the show couldn't afford to pay them so they were just mentioned instead. i wish someone would have mentioned whether emma had the baby or not. then again maybe jane didn't know that emma was pregnant so jane didn't mentione it in her soliloquay that she wrote. remember that when emma found out she was pregnant jane wyman was alreadty off the show

  • It was mentioned that Emma had her baby. It was a daughter and she named it Angela-Julia.

  • @travis082185 she did mention that Emma had a baby girl. they shoul;d have brought Emma back--she actually started falcon crest by accidnetally killing chase's father

  • Love you Jane! R.I.P

  • ... I toast to you Jane Wyman, and long may you live ...

  • Jane Wyman was the best...a true legend all the way!

  • RIP Jane Wyman....what a great actress.

This speech is a perfect salute to a great lady.

  • I hated to see "Falcon Crest" end on CBS, it was dropped by SOAPnet in June 2003, I wish somebody would pick it up, with no dreaded split screens we all hate that ruin the ending credits!

  • Sadly, Falcon Crest was never a very dependable show for ratings. Even when it was on CBS it never had any stable ratings like Dallas.

  • For a while, it was a top 10 show, back when CBS ruled Friday nights. It was Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas and then Falcon Crest. I was glued. At the time, many reviewers made note of its darker, more violent plots. I liked it because it had more class than the other nighttime soaps and the conflicts seemed more realistic, with none of those "I shall destroy you" speeches. Very anti-Dynasty.

  • True very true. But to me Falcon Crest had potential, but was somewhat missing something. Maybe they should've made Lance more evil and conniving.

  • I remember when a reviewer quipped the Lance was "equipped with little more than a Corvette and a sneer." He was referring to the first season, but I think it always somewhat applied. The writing was very uneven with him.

  • Something that Dallas and Falcon Crest both had was wholesomeness. Something that Dynasty didn't. Family was the basis of both shows which is why they both didn't jump the shark as quick as Dynasty.

  • @FamilyGuy770

Dynasty's first 5 seasons were good.

  • Yeah - no one was really left. Besides, not all shows need a reunion when the endings are done this well. Too bad all soaps can't do it this way.

  • You could not have asked for a more perfect ending to this show.

  • I think that the writer's knew right off the bat that Falcon Crest wasn't gonna have a reunion show after it was canceled. Probably because the characters of Chase, Melissa, and Maggie were killed off.

  • I'm sure Jane Wyman's health is/was an issue. Glad she is still with us though. She's one of a only a few left from her era in Hollywood.

  • Sadly, I don't remember much about Falcon Crest. It's ironic, really, since it was one of my favorite shows in the 80s. Here's to Falcon Crest. And the dreams she inspired.
