Great work, I've also hiked every inch of Lobos Creek and do so regularly. I'm sorry about the destruction of your reflecting pool, it was a really beautiful spot.
Great video! I spent my some of the best years of my youth living in the Presidio before the base closed. I spent 5 years exploring the woods with my friends and never came across the creek. Next time I'm in town, I'll try to find it. Thank you for your effort surrounding this project!
Yep, I love living here as an adult, but I can imagine it would have been paradise as a kid growing up. Lobos Creek is easy to find, just start at the beach and head up! Enjoy!
Michael, this is fantastic. What a wonderful story, and right in our backyard. Congratulations on winning the Tom's of Maine River Stories Video Contest. I am excited to help you with the reflecting pool. :-)
- Restoration to the reflection pool area is ongoing; I hike in more beach rocks for bank erosion control and Presidio Native Plant Nursery has
agreed to provide riparian plants to install this winter ( coffee berry, wax myrtle, honey suckle, etc). The final component of this project is to have an ongoing series of Surfrider Foundation events to explore and cleanup the Creek/Beach from the source to the sea. --First event is mid Jan 09! MS

Sounds like this is a fellow Surfrider? Thanks for the kind words - yep, Lobos really is a little gem.

Very cool video. It's interesting to see how such a small stream can flow year-round, especially in this dry state of ours.
