  • In my gun, there is a slight crack in the gearbox part that is in the magwell. is that a problem?

  • @JuicexBoy well... a gearbox will start cracking from underneath.. so yeah.. this is a problem

  • @JuicexBoy, you are absolutely right. Crack starts small and grows until it completely reach the corner in front of the cylinder, and it will affect the gun's performance.

  • did you weld the gearbox ??

  • why the fuck does he still have a warning label on his gun?

  • @Meboyboyboy probably because he didnt take it off

  • @nuclearfish010 I figured that out

  • That's true, it's because I don't bother to take it off :-) I am not to anal about my guns. I just make sure it performs well, and I can hit my opponent(s) with the warning label on just as well as with them off.

  • do i even want to know how you managed to crack a KWA gearbox? unless it was a gen 1

  • @therazorsedege It was Gen1. And KWA sucks

  • he sounds like a little child that wants a cookie

  • Was it a KWA gearbox?

  • @ZaCkOX900 , This was the older version of the KWA gear box. All of my guns are KWA (7 of them),

and 3 have cracks in them from normal use. But the fix seems to work for me. When ever I see a stress

crack from extensive use, I just reheat and the crack disappear. Evenutally, I want to switch all my guns over to Gen2 gearbox where this area is already reinforced.

  • @bbnc1 interesting. I have yet to purchase a KWA because I have heard the piston has been getting cracked teeth easily compared to when they used to be top notch. Have you heard of this?

  • @ZaCkOX900

I have not heard of this happening to a KWA. I think this KWA is a very good choice simply because it is very easy to maintain and all the parts fits nicely. 30minutes from disassembly to lubing, cleaning, and putting the gun back together. I ownded other brands before, but gave them away to neighbor's kids because too painful to maintain. Just treat the gun with care, and it will last you.

  • @bbnc1 I heard it was with the newer guns, even crazyncman talks a little bit about it, as well as some people back him up, so I guess it's true but haven't seen it. I haven't been too interested in KWA yet. I give all brands a chance, except for the crap chinese brands! If it's easy accessible I totally will look into it. I'm trying to find interesting looking guns. I have 4 m4/m16 type rifles, but I love them. The look and feel, it's a great thing. You don't post a video of your other KWAs?

  • if you are afraid of your gearbox cracking or you fixed its cracks look up a sorbo pad it reduces piston impact to 90%+ to reduce liability of the gearbox took crack.

  • @joshjkinglol :

Some of my gear box, I just did it to preventing it from stress crack. The 3 that were already cracked, then this method worked great for me. I can't stress enough that practice before you try because the heat can melt the gearbox, so please do be careful before trying. I do have the Sorbo pad in my cylinder but through extensive use, eventually, the stress crack occured.

  • what metal construction does your gearbox have??? i have zinc gearbox and it is easily break.... there is a stainless steel gearbox???

  • @raz0racanine :

I am not sure of the materials since it has been a long time since I did the research, but it has similar melting point like Pot Metal. Some kind of Zinc alloy. Anyway, for sure it is not stainless steel. This method would not work for stainless steel since the solder doesn't adhear to it.

  • -reporter : what do you feel , when you shoot justin bieber

    -I : recoil

  • hey nice gun does this actualy break down like this if you get this model like all the top comes off and so on thx and what gun is it kwa m16 or whta thx

  • @pyronathanpyro :

Yes, the gun breaks down nicely and maintenance is super easy since all the components fit perfectly. No chims to worry about, gears fall into place as supposed to, can't stress how easy it is to maintain KWAs M4A1 or M16 (same gear box).

  • @bbnc1 wow prety nice then as it looks so realistic what is the price on a stock one of these and would i be able to get me one in the uk :)

  • @pyronathanpyro

Not sure how much it would cost in the UK, but in the U.S. you can get a stock M4A1 for about $295. Nicer model like SR7 for $340. Both comes with newer generation gearbox, much thicker, so you don't even need to reinforce the gearbox.

  • @bbnc1 okay i curency converted it and it was arround £255 for the kwa m4a1 qhick is the one id get so ill be saving when i can as i have other hobbies but when i can id love one of these ohhh yah :)

  • @pyronathanpyro: It's a fun hobby, but can be expensive. The gun is just he first piece, the supplies, maintenance, etc. can add up. :-) Good luck in saving for a KWA.

  • @bbnc1 thanks lol and yah true v expensive even if i wait till im older id still like one of these

  • My KWA did the same thing. I shot on full auto and all of a sudden it starts to make a loud thud when i shot. My box cracked quite new too. Thanks for putting this up its gonna help me out so much.

  • thx i got the tip so wat do i do now i got my gun tip and tools

  • @BFMV141

Go to youtube and search for :

"Gearbox Guide for Version 2 Gearbox" by EVIKE. This will show you how to disassemble and assemble the gearbox. There are many more videos on youtube on M4 you can learn from. Good luck

  • i have problem with something simlar the tip of the box broke wat can i do i just spent alot of money on the gun plz hlep its the hammer that shoots the bullet the little black tip of the gearbox plz help

  • @BFMV141

Sorry I was out of town and couldn't reply. Anyway, if it is the tip, it is not part of the gear box, and you can buy the replacement tip very cheap. What brand and model is your gun, and may be I can help look for the right tip. If you have a picture of what's broken, I can identify what you may need.

  • hi dude great video congrats on the repair had a similar thing front end of mine broke off but the wat whats the name of the music in the background please and by who?

  • @nikeflyer :

Name of music is "Requiem for a dream" by Clint Mansell. But this version I used was from Bleach anime. search for "bleach AMV Soul Society Requiem". Use youtube downloader to download and convert to MP3. good luck

  • damn that shoots fast... im a sniper im not supposed to be too fast

  • Wait your that one guy who did the pictures on Kwa USA right? I remember reading it along time ago lol Great Job dude!

  • Yes, I also posted pics on KWA USA forum as you mentioned. Thanks for the comment. :-)

  • My gearbox doesn't work, unfortunately, its for an mp5

  • In general, I don't think it matter which version gearbox you have. As long as there is room for you to add this Super alloy 1 stuff, it will fix the crack. I used the fixed gearbox for 2 weekends in a row trying to abuse it, and it worked flawlessly. I already fixed 3 gearbox and all are working like new. Send me an email with details of your issue, and I'll see if I can help.

  • My problem is, when i pull the trigger that activates the gearbox making the gearbox produce a sound and fire. This only doesn't produce a noise when the battery is not connected, but i've connected it and it's as if it's not because no noise is being produced and none of the BB's are coming out of the Barrel.

  • This topic is about reinforcing your gearbox or fix a cracked gearbox. Your problem is totally different. Having said that, did you check the fuse? If yes, check to make sure power is getting to motor, etc. You can go to any airsoft forum and search for "gun not firing" or similar.

  • My teacher is having a look at it, to see if he knows because he is a design technology teacher, so he may know, but thanks anyway

  • great to see that it worked! That fix is not even that noticeable unless you point it out. Anyway, I noticed that piston head is different, did you upgrade that?

  • Piston head is the original KWAs as well as air nozzle. In fact, all the internals are stock. Maybe the lighting wasn't too good, and it just appeared different.
