  • great! hoping i can eventually make videos like yours!

  • Lovely job! Well done clear easy to follow and she looks great:)

  • I love the cuff round the top, can you sit down in this though? I suppose if you are little you can make it flare out, I would like it to be a pencil dress but don't know how to do the split, ah I'll just have to hobble!

  • I love the wrist pin cushion:) I might make one of those.

  • i miss old threadbanger so much....

  • @xmissmandymousex You're singing to the chior. I think we all miss the old ThreadBanger...

  • Ah. Love this tutorial. Only thing is, no pant leg would ever have enough fabric for me. I think I'll just buy some separate fabric.

  • @BlackBirdLovble hahahaaha! I was thinking the same thing... maybe getting some BIG BIG Pants @ Goodwill or some place like that... but the dress its a nice idea.!! good luck!

  • @claudiabolivarleon I was thinking I could put another fabric up the sides...give it some flair!! :)

  • @BlackBirdLovble Or we just get the extra step of sewing a third pair of pants and making a longer or wider piece of fabric!

  • awesome tutorial, do u have any more tutorials using ties? and what to do with them?

  • That was fantastic! Really nice job. :-)

  • Sweet! Now I know what to do with my husband's pants that are too big for him! :D

  • hee hee...ex-boyfriend...chop the slacks at the crotch area...yep ... what xxcupcakecarnivore said.

  • you are Genius in selecting your posts

  • This would look awesome with those crazy suits black baptist men wear sometimes (not to be offensive) like a burberry one or something... love this vid

  • Thank you so much for making this video!

    Love the dress :))

  • jejje how smart

  • cute! great job!

  • lol, wow that looks great!

  • I need to find a professional seamstress to help me with 4 to 5 of my dress designs. If anyone knows of one please let me know!

I live in the Los Angeles area.

    Thanks!

  • i love your little bracelet with the pins! good idea :)

  • the tie idea as a belt was cool!

  • where is her store located in austin?

  • Awesome dress! Gonna try to make one- hope I succeed!

  • That is absolutely amazing! I love it. Thanks so much for that video.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • I want to make a dress for my landlord. The thing is she's pregnant now and the dress is to celebrate after her giving birth. This seems perfect. I'm thinking I could get stretchy material JUST IN CASE... you know, the weight doesn't come off afterwards. So she doesn't feel bad.

  • very smart, you've inspired me.

    haha bumping into your exboyfriend....

" hey, i need my slacks back"

reply "well..... you can have your slack dress back"

  • I would attach a neck tie(from the middle of the tie) to the middle of the bust line and make it a halter dress. (:

  • i'm soo gonna do this! but i don't have a large ex boyfriend... so goodwill here i come

  • @GabiiiRenee i binded this curse in the name of Jesus an loose life love because God is not given the spirit of fear

  • Her kitty's tail is reeeaally fuzzy... almost feather duster fuzzy :3 I felt the need to point that out =D

  • ur amazing!!!!! i love it!!!

  • man! your exboyfriend must to be huuuuge!!!

  • LOVE it!!!

  • This is gorgeous, but I don't know any man big enough that the leg of his pants would go even a quarter way around me. My own fault - I like to eat and sit on my ass. Maybe one day ;P

  • @salamanderdeath you can always buy the fabric ...i like to think my boyfriend it's too skinny.. and even if he wasn't skinny his clothes suck!! so fabric it's the best option

  • @salamanderdeath Maybe you could use more trouser legs, like two for the front and two for the back?

  • @salamanderdeath lol I was just thinking the same thing about myself.

  • Amazing. I think of all types of things like this and reject it for being "too simple" but simplicity is the key to a greatest projects I've been finding out there!

  • Thats really pretty but i think this would only work if your ex had big legs and you are skinny.

  • @emilyhale27 That's exactly what I was thinking too since I've got some curves on me & I'm very tall... but then I thought, "Hey, just go to goodwill or salvation army, & see if they have any 'big & tall' slacks" =)

  • @emilyhale27 i know right

  • @emilyhale27 we are going to the thrift store to get big pants k

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • lllllllllllllllooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeee iiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt

  • You can also get a pattern from a dress that you love the way it fits you.

  • wow thats soo kool.

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • OMG!. that was awesome. Very creative.

    Thanx for sharing!.

  • ha ha!

"You CHOP em' up right around the crotch area..."

lol she says that so menacingly. Very cute and i will totally make one :3

  • @XxCupcakeCarnivorexX you're supposed to make them out of your exboyfriend's slacks, so duh. xD

  • KITTY!

  • i loveeeeeee it

  • omg! love her bracelet! i'm gonna make one

  • Awesome! That came out so cute! Gah I wish my boyfriend didnt need to wear his slacks so I could try it! lol

  • That is outstanding. I got to try it.

  • nice really

  • wow thats really cool!

  • wow, i love the idea and i love the way it looks. if you just saw the end result it looks store bought. and it's a way better use of your ex-boyfriends close than to just burn them. though you need a small body and large slacks for it to fit. but i guess you could just add extra fabric to the sides.

  • great! it's seems to be a easy method to make the dress

  • Maybe I'll post up my somewhat slack dress =D.... i'm still in the process of finishing it!

  • Terrific!!! Never would have thought of using men's pants this way. I look forward to more of your great ideas and will check out Woman's World, too. Happy Creating!!!.

  • oh wow that bracelet pin cushion is genius

  • WOOOOW SOO COOL

  • thank you !

  • Thanks so much for the idea! I just made one last night!!! I'm a little bigger so I added some fabric from a nightie I never wear in the middle for an accent and some extra room! All I have to do is hem the bottom and maybe add some straps and I'm done! Such a great way to recycle old clothes! Thanks again!!

  • I had the same thing...I'm thinking since the slacks I have are an olive color, and I have an old tie that is green and off-white, I'll use a pair of khaki colored slacks for the sides. Should look really good when I'm done.

I think my problem is the slacks. Back in the day, slacks were made more narrow at the ankles, so it BARELY goes around my bust. Doesn't help that I'm fairly busty. :)

  • never heard a lady say armpit... only underarm lol :)

  • i think this video is one of THE BEST yet. so quick and to the point. Plus, she makes it look so easy and the finished piece looks great on her. great job! Is there something I can do w/ about 100 neckties that I dont use? =)

  • Sew them all together into a skirt? (If you are a girl, of course.....or unless you are a guy that likes skirts.....*shrug*) Belts? Wristbands? Stitch one to the front of a t-shirt? I dunno, be creative.... you can do a lot with a bunch of ties.....

  • Omfg amazing idea! But what would possibly be a better idea is to take some old slacks that you own that possibly have pinstrips on them and make it that way which would also let the dress give you a more sleeker look if your more of a curvasious girl as I am =D

  • yay! A fellow austinite that is awesome at refashioning! :) I love it!!

  • How big was your ex? Those slacks are big.. Cute cat

  • Can you send me a patterns of business suit ! please ! ta a lot ! ALI$A

  • Hey, My name is Sheri, i was the girl that liked your dress on Red river the other night. your episode is great. im going to try it. i dont have a machine yet so im using my mothers, but it lives in fort worth. im getting my own in feb. i made a dress out of an old racing t-shit and it turned out well. im a bike racer and i have lots of way too big shirts. i dont know much yet, but im learning and thread bangers is a great learning tool.

  • teehee my mom and grandma used to make patterns out of old paper bags...i use newsprint which is crazy cheap...and what we use at school o.O

  • thats so cute!!!!

  • Nice

  • That is really cute dress. I'm glad I'm not the only one who pins and cuts material on the floor!

  • Amen to that! Who doesn't pin on the floor?

  • I posted a video although it is not a slack dress and is not meant to out do anyone. I just thought I would see what I could do. Perhaps, when my machine is working again I can try this dress. I like it.

  • Thanks for sharing! This is a wicked pissa idea! can't wait to try it!

  • thnx

  • i really want 2 make that, but i have to follow mii skool dress code, u MUST wear sleeves w/ shirts/dresses, etc. so plz!!!- any ideas? :) thnx a million!

  • wear a shrug over it or a t-shirt under it...

  • that is adorable.. more tutorials por favor!

  • cooool idea... but i'd have to use the tie as straps cause i don't have boobies to hold the dress in place -.o

  • how would i make one of these but a plus size for my sister..i c you used the bag for yuors but what would i use for hers?

  • awesome tutorial

  • That is awesome, and if you met a dif guy every week, you wouldn't have to buy clothes!!!

  • There's also that satisfaction of cutting along the crotch line. Lol!

  • very cute

  • haha ex-boyfriend's clothing. Brilliant!

  • that looked rly rly good :D

  • How can there not be a seem in the front of the dress, when there is one in the back ?? Isn't the two legs the same ?. I don't understand it :)

  • they look like different pieces of fabric to me. maybe thats how come theres no seam in the front, or perhaps she cut around the pants seam for the front.

  • She cut the second back peice differently so she could have the seam for the zipper.

  • cool

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE Her Wings On The Wall!!!

    00:37

  • Awsome!!

  • Definitely going to do that!

  • sweeet :D great job... u look good on ur ex-boyfriend's PANTS :P lol...dress..

  • Oh Zod,I just though, HAY I COULD MAKE THAT DRESS, I have Old SLacks!Wait...

Not for me but still great job!

  • That was so cool.

  • love it!

  • wow that is so cute

i might try it some day

but it might be too hard for me

  • thread head needs to focus on techniques not just "measure yourself, cut the fabric and sew"

  • Cute dress, but am I crazy to say that she said "perfect" way too many times in that video?

Anyway, I really want to make one of these now, preferably out of denim or something...

  • So cool. Now I have to get back to sewing again! Love it!

  • Omg, that's so adorable! I will definitely steal one of my dad's old slacks~

  • super cute dress!

  • holy wow, that dress turned out a lot better than it sounded like it would. its super cute.

  • I am LOVIN all the updates! this stuff is GOLD

  • will this work with a pair of jeans?!?! time to go to goodwill...

  • will this work with a pair of jeans?!?! time to go to goodwill...

  • very cool idea! it would also be neat to use ties as straps or around the top and bottom edges, to sort of go with the whole formal-menswear-turned-feminine look.

i might actually try this with other pant materials...

  • thats great! I want a tuxedo vest for a girl, but there pretty expensive. I was wondering if there was and easy way to make one?

  • Can't wait to make one of those this dress.

  • Wow, threadbanger, I'm already a confirmed youtube addict, but this five videos a week thing is takin it too far. This is irresponsible! Do you plan to establish a threadbanger-addict self help group at least? We're all gonna go completely nuts from now on...

  • So simple! I'll have to try making my own dress soon. :)

  • beast!

  • I LOVE IT! I need to try this sometime.

  • lol "i liek to chop up neck ties adn then use them around my neck." lmao.

  • yeah, you need more stuff for dudes. the past few episodes have all been about curtains and dresses...

P.S.: Do you know anything that you can do with an old belts that just won't fit you anymore?

    Thanx...

    you rock...

    =P

  • I don't know what stich she used, but a straight stitch or running stitch should work just fine.
