  • i can't believe they're both gone. at one point they were both faces of the franchise... it's sad how fast things can change

  • @kwtvlive one dumbass fuck you are

  • I live in Augusta and I was there for this event. Love it.

  • if you haven't heard hudson is out for all of next year after having tommy john surgery last season to repair a ligament in his arm.

  • John smoltz must go to the hall of fame:

    Why?

    1. Only player with 200 wins and 150 saves

    2. 1 cy young award

    3. Will end up with 3000+ strikouts

    2.

  • got his 3000th K the other day.

  • 300 WINS... Not concerned with that!!! John is a Hall of Famer in my mind!!! If he once again switches back to a closer, WHICH I THINK HE SHOULD... Not now... But in a year or two...

He could finish with 225 wins and 225 saves... ONLY MAN EVER TO DO THAT, if he should... No doubt Hall of Fame!!!

  • John Smoltz !!!! the best pitcher ever!!! bigger than anyone else before and after babe!!!

  • The most unselfish player in baseball. Why would a pitcher at his prime do 3 years of bullpen work to be the closer instead of chasing the wins? Smoltz won't get to 300 wins but he has to be mentioned among those who have 300.

  • Why would he? Cuz he had elbow problems and didnt think he could make starts anymore. Do some research before posting something like this. Little fact too, he set record for single season saves mark, till Gagne took it. He's hall of famer no doubt.

  • "rambling"'s point was that most pitchers wouldn't do something so unselfish, due to their pursuit of individual statistics.

Smoltz has returned to the bullpen now to be the closer again, and Atlanta's starting pitching is very strong. Now with Soriano set to return soon, hopefully, the seventh inning is locked down, as will be the eighth (Gonzalez), and the ninth (Smoltz).

Now to this video. From what I've seen, the testimonies are fine, but I'm afraid this church might be purpose-driven.

  • Even with Smoltz return to the pen which is still some time away, we're far from "very strong" in the bullpen or starting rotation. You call Hudson - Glavine - Jurrjens strong? Glavine just got off DL, Gonzalez will still be on the DL till AllStar break at least. Soriano still has discomfort, Moylan is gone for season with TJ's, Hampton is still a pussy and Smoltz going down. Lets not forget James and Carlyle have been hurt. Strong? No where near it. Good thing Chipper has been tearing it up.

  • First of all, don't take a term with "God" in it and try to put your little spin on it. Secondly, watch your language. Furthermore, don't show your ignorance. Atlanta's starting pitching HAS been very strong, even with John Smoltz being in and out. Tom Glavine hasn't gotten much run support at all, and Tim Hudson and Jair Jurrjens have been terrific. As for Smoltz, when healthy, he has been better than anyone else, including Brandon Webb. Poor execution has been the problem.

  • this is awesome. (:

  • The stars are Smoltz and Hudson in pitching, then the Jones. I like Jeff though. Hes a decent player.

  • How can you put Hudson above Chipper. You obviously know nothing about the Atlanta Braves. Hudson had 1 decent season. Do you know remember last season? Chipper has been consistantly dominant his entire career, despite his various injuries.

  • Who said I put hudson above jones. I just said their names not their order. and no i'm a red sox fan. i know nothing about the braves.

And CALM THE FUCK DOWN. and I met the joneses. Andrdu and Chipper. 7 months ago they were both on the team.

  • For some reason it won't play for me:( Anyone have a download?

  • Smoltzie has always been my hero and after watching this AWESOME video my heart just couldn't be any prouder to "have" in my life. Jeff is a wonderful role model for the youth of today. I hope I get the chance to continue to watch him blossom into the great man I know he will become. I say all of this as a FAN of the Braves, I don't know them personally. I've been watching Braves baseball since 1992.

  • I was there for this. I actually got to serve them dinner that night. It was amazing. Jeff was a BEAST.

  • john smoltz is da man on and off the field.... its good to hear from Frenchie...Bravos 4 life!!!

  • I love it! I knew John Smoltz was a good christian guy but Jeff suprised me and I now have more respect for Jeff.

  • thanx for posting, great stuff..

  • the reason i'm here in america is because the christain sponsored us. thank you and amen.

  • Praise God,these guys are what sports and all the world need as good role models.

  • Very nice.

  • Smoltz is to be commended. I hope Francoeur's Faith resembles Smoltz when he is almost 40, as Smoltz is.

  • This is so awesome! I only respect John Smoltz and Jeff Francoeur more than I did. They are not scared to talk about their faith and this is just awesome.

  • This is so awesome. Thank you for posting this.

  • omg that was SOOOO good! thanks so much for posting it!!
